I think that might be my problem too...I've been feeling pretty terrible all day.
It just rained in Columbus and should be hitting us anytime.

I love how while once again I'm looking for something for plants that I probably won't be able to find in a store, and yet something else I could not find anywhere a few years ago is just sitting there stocked on Walmart's shelf as if it's always been so common... (I think it had been common to find in the past, but eesh... I'd become convinced the stuff wasn't really being produced much anymore.) Last edited by IndigoErth; 05-04-2018 at 05:22 PM. |

Since I'll be in Ohio for quite a while, I thought it best to change my location to my favorite, very relevant, quote from Animaniacs

I'm not actually sure how many around here are active?
My dad grew up in Columbus and gets a big kick out of those lines. And so does his family, who never left like he did.

Are... are your feet reversed? (Or are they old shoes and you've just worn out the cushioning.)
You know... Years ago my dad had this big idea for a cute beach/sandbox toy, but of course actually making it a real thing is a different matter and not easy to do. I'd eventually made a 3D computer model of it for him that he could try to use to send images of it to companies, but it's generally companies who'd be happy to make it for you for a price, but they don't have anything to do with actually selling it and don't care if it sells or not, so it still never happened. I realized now that the site I vented about in the Gear Grinds - a 3D printing company that appears to be set up much like CafePress and others (i.e. you provide designs and they do the rest) - could potentially be an answer to making his idea real and actually having it available for sale, at least through that site. He'd have been so eager to try to do it. If only he hadn't passed away so soon 2 1/2 years ago. That's always the way it is, isn't it...? I might still try to do it for him though. Even if it doesn't go anywhere. Last edited by IndigoErth; 05-07-2018 at 01:15 PM. |

The carpenter bees in my region might be cute and all, but their normal black and yellow bee colors have got nothing on this.
The Malaysian carpenter bee Xylocopa caerulea is apparently BLUE! https://www.whatsthatbug.com/2010/02...Speed=noscript I want a plushie in its likeness... |

Yeaaah, I'm going to have to find a bee plush pattern and try it out one day.
Because that is absolutely adorable. Meanwhile, my mother should have let me paint my nails on my own a lot more when I was younger, because I'm not doing awesomely at it now. It doesn't help much that my nails are so short because I can't stop biting them...

How pretty! Almost as pretty as the blue tarantulas I've been reading about on some science sites. And then there is my personal fave, the Tiger Rump. So gorgeous- I want one!

I've lost my mind for the past seven hours because the cat wasn't anywhere around the porch and it turned out she was just two houses down.
My worst nightmare with her, considering how skinny she is and how big her belly is, that something bad happens to her or her kittens when they start coming. Which is what I thought she went off to do. So we brought her back to the porch and gave her a little more food, after she yelled at my aunt for the cottage cheese she was eating. I'm going to get her own special food and bowls tomorrow, if I remember too. My aunt will also try to take her to the vet while I'm working at the museum. I'm tempted to not name her until the kittens are born, but Molly (Weasley) is very tempting. So are Hermione or Minerva. Just have another set of Harry Potter cats, starting with her. ...I'm too young to be a crazy cat lady!

She's a pretty good cat too, for being completely 180'd in three days. She wouldn't let me touch her the first few times I saw her. And since I started feeding her, she's really big into getting petted. She even rolls on her side for me to rub her stomach now.
I just really don't want her kittens to be born outside for a plethora of reasons.
