Amy Schumer Is BARBIE
The ever-charming, totally classy "comedian" is apparently in talks to play an all-new, all-different Barbie in the surefire-hit movie.

That's what I'm wondering too. There's no obvious demographic I can see this appealing to. Hell, I'll bet it's going to be rated PG-13.

Okay. not what I'd expect, but okay, it's intriguing. Personally I'd love a proper animated movie (there's a million DTV movies) with same flair as The LEGO movie, maybe close to Barbie's Dreamhouse series.
Live-Action didn't work so well for Bratz, how well will it work for the OG beauty doll? |

O yes.
It's pretty bad, not just due to the property it's based off since it's just a generic tween movie for girls with the name slapped on... Which I guess fits the Bratz? |

Doesn't work as Barbie though, being imperfect and different is out of character. Now if it focused on an unknown imperfect 'doll' and it indirectly poked fun at superficial dolls like Barbie who are trying way too hard to be what they are... Wrong angle as is though. If Barbie has to learn a lesson then she should learn to chill out on trying so hard to be a certain way. |

Iiiiinteresting.
I mean, just putting Schumer in a "family friendly" movie is curious enough. I know it'd never happen, but I'd love to see a movie that approaches Barbie the way Bob's Burgers approached My Little Pony. Barbie was directly inspired by merchandising for a German comic strip, and it's original demographic was adult men.
