Happy New Year!
And I haven't a clue. I don't tend to make any. Though my plans for, uh, later in the morning, are to spend a good part of the day just being lazy and watching the Mummers Parade, since I'm fortunate enough to be in the Philly broadcasting area. Nothing like a crazy all day parade. And wishing my dad a should-be 70th birthday were he still here, since his birthday was Jan 1st. So New Years day was always a thing for us too. (Weirdly an almost lifelong friend's is Dec. 31st, so I know/have known people born on both the first and last days of the year. ) Edit: So many of the groups (Clubs) that participate in this parade (competitively via choreographed performances, costumes, set pieces, etc) lost members this year. Usually there's maybe just a few that are mentioned that have passed over the past year, but there were so many mentioned this year. Saddest really is the last group to perform on the street just before 5pm (there's still two hours left this evening of the BIG stuff indoors shown on tv at 8pm) had a 6th grade boy step up as captain of the group in place of his father that suddenly passed in October. I don't think a kid has ever been captain before... Kid did good until he laid flowers in the captain's square (painted on the road) for his dad before he walked out of the judging area behind the other members. Too sad. I don't make new year's resolutions myself, since I strive to better myself pretty much every day.

Happy new year all!
I don't tend to do the usual list of things...I'll eat less chocolate etc.. but there are things I have been wanting to do, so starting with one of those would be good, give a little motivation. Just feel like something new. Last edited by newfan; 01-01-2018 at 01:06 PM. |

Mine is to try and not be so stressed all the time. Between a super stressful job (that pays too good to leave) and my constant family drama, I am rarely relaxed. This year I hope to manage that better.

I don't make new year resolutions. If I want to do something or improve myself I can do anytime of the year. No need wait until a new year to come to do that. Nor do I need to base my goals/aims around a year in particular.

The only major resolution I have is to get my health up. It has taken a steady decline due to my dieting and poor exercise, especially given my circumstances. I'm joining up a gym (need to decide on one before next week) and gathering advice and tips.
Besides that, fix up the past or let go at last. Then, hopefully, land my dream college.
