Here's what Jude Law had to say about the story.

I really wish they did this one awhile back instead of that horrible 3rd Iron Man.

Wait, isn't he doing King Arthur parts 2-10 or something?
No, really... wtf? Is there even a point to this without him? This is his thing, his bag. Plus, wasn't he part of the whole hold up to begin with?

Obviously on hold.
What really worries me, however, is RDJ pushing for some sort of Sherlock Cinematic Universe. “We think there’s an opportunity to build it out more,” Susan added. “Spin-off characters from a third movie, to see what’s going on in the television landscape, to see what Warner Media is starting to build out, things with HBO and HBO Max.” “At this point, we really feel that there is not a mystery-verse built out anywhere, and Conan Doyle is the definitive voice in that arena, I think, to this day,” he said about the future of the franchise past Sherlock Holmes 3. “So to me, why do a third movie if you’re not going to be able to spin off into some real gems of diversity and other times and elements?” Just do more Sherlock Holmes movies. Not everything has to be a cinematic universe.

I'd watch the hell out of the second concept, Sherlock Holmes having to solve mysteries while dealing with dinosaurs at the same time sounds both amazingly stupid and stupidly amazing! |

Jesus. There are so many things wrong with this I have no idea where to begin. The lack of Ritchie is the obvious one... then the presence of this nonsense expanded universe. Also the fact that this should have come out like 5 years ago for anyone to care. I suspect the last two factors tie into each other.
