FOX Developing "Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde)" Movie

http://collider.com/kitty-pryde-movi...er-fox-disney/

Not sure how far this'll get thanks to the merger with Disney...

See, I get that the idea of Fox-Men projects already in middle-to-late development stages being seen through, merger or not, since they'll already be filmed and in theaters probably by the time the deal is complete... but starting new ones from scratch? Now? Who would want to waste their time on such things? Who would want to waste being cast in such things?

Exactly...

"Hey guys, Disney bought us and the MCU is gonna call the shots now."
"Okay, boss... hey, new idea! A Shadowcat movie!"
"... Did you not hear what I JUST said?"

Still, it's a good idea. But then, a lot of the X-Men movies have been good ideas, just terrible execution.

Can we have the Colossus from Deadpool in the Kitty Pryde movie?
Because....that would make me very happy.

There is a still a year until merger, but knowing Fox, I am pretty sure that would be another of their "doa" projects.

Of course. No way does "Kitty Pryde: The Movie" come together any faster than, say, "Gambit."

I never liked Kitty Pryde until Wolverine and the X-Men, to me Jubilee will always be the newbie to the group. Too bad she is but a relic of the past in both comics, animation and film.

I wonder if this is an Ellen page vehicle, with her planning to reprise the role?

She's a bankable name, but I just don't see Fox bringing her back... but then, I just don't see this movie actually happening so who really cares?

Regardless of whether or not this film gets made or not, I hope Ellen Page is too busy filming the upcoming Umbrella Academy show for Netflix to return to X-men movies

My first exposure to her was X-Men: Evolution, which...probably wasn't the best interpretation of the character.

Those early Byrne/Claremont-era stories are great, though. And with the leadership role she has in the comics now, it's nice to see an All-New, All Different/1980s era character that has developed organically and doesn't seem like a parody of their former self.

Spoiler:
