What the hell is the drill monster and why.
Decided this is a good wtf thing to put on (via the site that shall not be named) while trying to get back into using my exercise bike a little. Have gotten as far as that drill one. Just why. And why is Lion-o so damned childish and annoying. It's weird to turn the leader into that while making the others the adults in the room. edit: And unicorns too... Erm, okay... Quote:

Someone hit this person for me.
https://www.fortressofsolitude.co.za...ust-nostalgic/ See, I don't recall beloved things from my parent's own generation being rebooted for my own, and in some really stupid dumbed down way. Maybe kids today actually need some cool original things of their own as well, not just dumbed down things hijacked from a generation that already loves a property. There little good enough out there now for them to be blamed for having "nostalgia" someday. |

But there were reboots when we were kids - but digital culture wasn't there so we didn't call them 'reboots'. Hell, any American made Godzilla movie. Lost In Space (remember that William Hurt flick), The Lone Ranger was tried again in the 80's. Hell.... let's face it, Star Trek on film and TNG. The Twilight Zone t.v. show came back when we were kids. The Kung-Fu t.v. show too. That great Dragnet movie with Tom Hanks and Dan Akroyd was born of the 50's t.v. show. These, just to name a few. |

The Jetsons (1962 premiere with new "seasons" beginning in 1985) The Flintstones (The Flintstones Kids 1986 cartoon show) Scooby-Doo (various successive incarnations but rebooted for A Pup Named Scooby-Doo 1988 cartoon and various movies after that) [Applies to most classic Hanna-Barbera characters in the 1990s] Walt Disney direct-to-video sequels of classic animated films during 1990s-2000s) The Little Rascals (1994 film) Leave It to Beaver (1997 film) The Brady Bunch (3 movies 1995-2002) Dick Tracy (1990 film) Dennis the Menace (1993 film) Flash Gordon, The Shadow, The Phantom, etc. (movies and cartoons) Obviously, the major superheroes of DC and Marvel keep getting new cartoons and various other media.

Okay, but what was the quality comparison? Maybe some things aren't as good as the originals, but was there a push to purposely make it dumb ("because stupid is funny!"), the way something like Thundercats Roar is, and 'Rise' to a lesser (but no better) degree.
edit: Would be like rebooting, say... Tales from the Crypt and the Crypt Keeper is now played by...a non-Middle Eastern boot of Jeff Dunham's puppet Acnmed and there is no attempt at a Crypt Keeper voice. lol |

Also, from what I've heard about the original intent of the 2002 Scooby-Doo live-action movie, that film was going to be heavily tongue-in-check about various fan-theories to re-imagine the series as more adult, stoner humor. https://lostmediawiki.com/Scooby-Doo...ion_film;_2002)

So typically, when it comes to franchises that I love. I don't root against versions that I'm not into. Usually, that way that I look at it is that even versions that I don't enjoy, they're still good for the brand. They still keep the franchise relevant. But THIS, no. I hope that this fails miserably.

The writer of that Titans Go/Roar team-up was actually an executive producer on the 2011 Thundercats series.

That’s why all the comments were in Spanish due to all the Hispanics following the Spanish guy. I assume the clip happened in Teen Titans Go?

It's Portuguese you doofus.
Haven't watched either 2011 or Roar but looking forward to seeing them both, 2011 has so much potential I hope it's not as bad as people say. I'm sure roar won't be very good but I like TTG so perhaps I will as well, that clip at the very least had me giggle. |

Spoiler:
....Is what I say every time I see something like that online. Seriously, if Galactic Basic is good enough for the entire Star Wars Universe, then Planet Earth needs to chuck all'a them Gibberish Languages already and get with the damn program! Also, f*ck this show.

Insulting a dead actor who played Panthro? that is way too wrong.
