You know, there's probably a good chance of that going both ways...

Long from now, way out in space (or at least more likely way out somewhere else in our galaxy), maybe two AI drones/robots from separate planets will encounter each other, figure out how to communicate, then sit down and tell each other the story about the planet they came from and the now long gone people who created them...

(edit: Could make for a touching end of a film. Kind of like that AI: Artificial Intelligence movie actually.)
