20th Anniversary of the publication of first 'Harry Potter' book.

20 years ago today, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone — the British version of the first novel in the Wizarding World Series — was released to book shelves. Fans all over the world are celebrating this historic anniversary. J.K. Rowling also sent a message out to fans:

Quote:
"20 years ago today a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others," she wrote. "It's been wonderful. Thank you."

I actually didn't start reading the books until middle-school, which was right around the time when the first film was released. Once I started them I became hooked and finished the first four books before going to high-school.
