Catwoman felt like a disjointed mess this week, with the character turning up in King's Batman again imminently now, as well as the Year of the Villain tie-in pages to deal with, Jones tried and, IMO, failed, to adequately set anything up for that.

Selina's rebound interest, who only had three issues, is rejected by her during a clumsy rooftop chase sequence, Selina's friends are attacked by her enemies and she suffers a stab wound, then the final pages take us a bit into the future to find she's recovered and bandaged up, travels to a cathedral building, finds a corpse, and then is given an offer by Lex Luthor.

...And they expect readers to be able to follow all this in one go?

I'm so confused over the timeline for the Catwoman ongoing and her appearance in Batman#75. The most recent issue of Catwoman gave little to no indication she was headed back out into the snowy mountain wilderness to test Bruce and ultimately look after him, and the most recent Catwoman issue ended with her being tempted with Lex Luthor's "offer" from Year of the Villain.

Dan Didio and Jim Lee panel at SDCC

https://www.newsarama.com/46028-sdcc...dan-didio.html

*Didio says the market and world has changed (in regards to MAD Magazine's cancellation)

*"Year of the Villain" is intended to restore the DC Universes's connective tissue, and it's best done with villains

*Tom King's Batman story is not done yet. All we've seen is Chapter One

*Leviathan wil spread out to encompass multiple groups in the DC Universe

*Jim Lee and Bendis will colaberate on a short Legion of Superheroes story

*Sandman Universe will continue despite Vertigo's end

*Didio admits Facsimile edition reprints of comics from 30-40 years ago sell better than current titles with the same characters

* Wally West will be put through the wringer in Flash Forward, all leading to a big event in 2020

* Three Jokers is still going to happen

*An official timeline of the DC Universe is being mapped out

Ugh, there they go pushing the Legion again. Nobody cares about them, and I can't think of a more historically radioactive property than that.

Could go either way. We'll see.

Oh gawd, make it stop. Tom King is the worst thing to happen to Batman since Batman: Odyssey.

Because killing everybody at Sanctuary and losing his family wasn't enough? The hateboner for Wally West at DC Editorial is horrifying and disturbing.

While I think three Jokers is a bad idea, I'm down for seeing Babs and Jason get some Joker payback.

Whatever for? Why? Who cares? Who needs it? Why bother? If everything made sense and lined up seamlessly, it wouldn't be comics.

Didio blames the failure of the New 52 on this somewhat, he thinks if they had everything figured out it would have been a hit (highly unlikely)

Trying to shrink everything into five years did more harm than good. It should have been a full on reboot instead. We all have our personal head cannon. I admired the attempt to widen genres beyond superheroes, but overall New 52 ended my favorite modern stretch of comics. Didio is the problem.

King is going to have a run on Batman as long as Slott did on Spider-Man.

Dumb.

It's just small minded thinking. It's like, why reboot? Because "oh noes, too much continuity and convoluted stories/history! Readers and writers are lost and we don't want to make editors do their job!" Right? But guess what happens after like 5 years, post-reboot? You get a lot of continuity and convoluted stories/history again and you're right back where you were, only now it doesn't have the virtue of the original history.

Marvel found that out with their "Ultimate" universe.

I thought the same thing earlier then I realized it was the same month that the unnecessary Joker movie is released. So the three one shots and classic reprint put a Joker focused issue every week that month.

Makes sense.

Still too much clown. FFS. The Hot Topic force is strong with DC sales, apparently.

I would rather Tim Curry's Pennywise show up and show Joker and Ultimate Clayface how to be creepy yet fun at the same time. Joker used to have that, but then the crisis hit. Pennywise can rip a child's arm off while make a person imitate his one-liners.

Joker is the most overanalyzed character in comic book history.

Robin gets the same treatment Batgirl already recieved. It's a solid narrative of his evolution and companion to the two Robin Archives from the late 40s and early 50s.

As much as I am sick of the Joker, its a one and done Batman vs Joker at the carnival plot in Detective Comics#1009. It's a refreshing take considering the forcing down our throats to come. No overanalyzing either, just mentioning their yin-yang.

I can tell that you read it too. Play along until Joker brings you to the point. Class dismissed.

I have enjoyed this run on Detective Comics. It's better than what is in King's Batman. Deadshot playing both sides then Nora will be revived, but at what twist this time around.

It looks like "Flash Forward" will be a certified "fix" for Heroes in Crisis if Lobdell's latest podcast interview is to be believed.
