Expect a new website soon!
Kinda bittersweet, but www.ninjaturtles.com as we knew it is gone.
It's under maintenance as we speak, and I can confirm it was working early this morning. I'm excited to see what they do with it... great time to be a Turtles fan. |

I'm excited about it, but I think I'm probably more upset. Mirage, how I miss it already (don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see what's coming).

Wow...well, to be expected I suppose. I'm pretty confident they will do something pretty cool with it - let's hope! It would be awesome for them to have lots of info on past incarnations of the TMNT as well as plenty of media/links, etc, so new fans are able to get to know everything the TMNT are and have been (and not have the site be 100% devoted to being a current show marketing channel).

The site will likely only be about the Nick cartoon.
I seriously doubt any info on the Mirage comics, old cartoons, or even the IDW comics will be there. |

I could see them having a section for the IDW comic... maybe. And possibly a brief overview of TMNT history, but nothing too in-depth.

I am glad that I have the site's content mostly saved to my hard-drive.
However, it was convenient to still have the old site around to pull up quick references of episode listings and descriptions. But... it IS time for a new, revamped website. Let's hope Nick creates some nice for the long haul. That's probably a safe bet. When it comes to business and marketing it's pretty much all about "The Now," without much regard for the past.

well, isn't that a little bit contraproductive then?viacom owns EVERYTHING that is ninja turtles from comics to socks with their pictures on them...I don't think they are drectly making money with comics but links would be helping them...correct me it Im wrong..

As a side note, I think it's kinda humorous when people assume they know all about promotion/marketing when they don't necessarily work in that industry.

The site is to promote the new Nick show.
Nick doesn't even own the original series, Lionsgate still holds the rights. |

The new website will likely re-direct to Nick.com/ninjaturtles sadly..and even if it doesn't it will strictly be aimed at kids. TMNT fan sites need to step up their game now that the wonderful resource of the original site is gone. No excuses now.
