SNL: Middle-Aged Mutant Ninja Turtles
Wasn't watching SNL and their quarantined episode, but a family member was and I heard a certain recognizable tune from another room... Missed part of it so I had to go find it, then see if it was posted here yet.

One of the best bits of the night....if not very original.

It gives me flashbacks to those animated Dorkly/CollegeHumor animated bits that were big on Youtube in the early 2010s. Kind of surprised that they went through with it, the animation quality is pretty decent for a one-off SNL skit.

For reals about that worn-out joke. Starlog magazine did that gag way back in their May 1990 issue (#154):

Robot Chicken did a skit years ago of the TMNT being old.

Just watched it. Pretty OK, for what they were going for.

I notice that out of all the turtles Michelangelo gets paired the most with April.

Just watched this in my Youtube feed and was curious if any Dromers saw it. It was okay. I don't think SNL has been funny in years, TBH. Oh well. I do like that 1990 Starlog page though (the same article that had the Judith Hoag "April in Turtleland" interview).

Did anyone see the recent Robot Chicken sketch where the blond haired man is giving the detective the descriptions of the turtles and their enemies from a street battle?

Yeah I saw that one. It was decently amusing. The crazy thing to me is the moment that sketch started I already expected it to be a TMNT scenario.

The Donatello bit was genuinely moving.
The Raph bit was hilarious. My god this 'parody' is the best the franchise has been in years |

Poor Donnie. Raph... lol The age of parents on social media, seems accurate.

Middle Aged Mutant Ninja Turtles is quite a good sketch, it has great animation and some of the jokes in the first episode are funny, the second one is a bit more sad to me than funny but the Raph part was good.
as for the robot chicken sketch, Senior Mutant Ninja Turtles is a good sketch too, reminds me of the episode Once Upon a Time Machine |

Let’s face it, if they were in fact middle-aged instead of being in their teens, the Turtles wouldn’t have been as popular as they are today.
Reminds me of a quote from “The Venture Bros”: Dr. Venture: He's been pulling that "boy genius" crap for at least the twenty years that I've known him. Billy Quizboy: Well, nobody's really impressed with "Master Billy Quizboy, Adult Genius."
