Sonic the Hedgehog Live-Action/CGI Movie Targeting 2018 Release Date

If done correctly this could be amazing.

My thoughts are the same, although I doubt it'll ever happen. There was a fan-made CGI Sonic movie that came out some years ago that also had human actors in it, and I think that movie pretty much bombed.

Also I'm curious to see who gets to voice Bunnie Rabbot should it become a SatAM based movie since the original VA that voiced the character passed away.

I honestly don't want to play the Devil's advocate considering the lackluster reputation of Sonic, but after Wreck-It Ralph I say Sonic might have a shot if not prominent. His prominence may be among the worst and I still feel he deserves a break; despite this, we do have a Ratchet and Clank movie this year, no?

I'd say Sonic might have a shot, but overall: meh.

Err, sounds like a bad idea. Reminds me of Sonic X.

Live action? Like Sonic Adventure?

I'm turned on right now.

I wouldn't mind if the movie is an adaption of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Those two games had Sonic and his friends on Earth.

The Sonic X cartoon even adapted those two games.

Have not seen Deadpool but I'm just happy this still moving forward.

Maybe a chaos emerald could be found by NASA and Eggman traces it here. Tricks the humans into thinking he will harness it as a new source of energy by setting up power planets around the world but secretly builds an army of machines to take over the planet.

I really hope the focus is on Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. I don't mind the other characters but for a first movie those should be the center of the non-humans. Maybe Amy Rose would be ok too as a tag along.

I want at least 1 big final battle between Sonic and a giant mech or monster while eventually turning into Super Sonic for the ending. A sky fight with the Tornado would be nice too.

Ok I could rant about a bunch of stuff because I've always wanted this but it'd probably be too much to fit into 1 movie.

Awesome. I hope it doesn’t get delayed. Glad to know there was and is an actual script. I thought it was starting from scratch.

I just hope it is actually good.

If only videogame based movies could be as good and get as good of treatment as comic book movies...or any other movie in general.

Judging from the reception of recent Sonic games (and the franchise as a whole for that matter), this might be Sega's last chance of proving themselves worthy of operating the series. In the meantime, I am hoping that they are discussing a proper execution for the film.

Don't disappoint me, Sega.
