"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" promotes bullying, bigotry

Sounds like it's time to ban it from the Holidays forever.

From All of Us to All of You

For every year, Sweden already censors more and more of From All of Us to All of You

Whoopi Goldberg said that Rudolph is the hero.

And no one argues with Whoopi.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

The entire plot is about people learning that everybody is unique and we should celebrate our differences.

Do people seriously only watch the first 15 minutes of a show/movie, anymore? Because it sure seems like the point of things is lost on most people, nowadays.

Holy sh*t.

You just need to listen to the song to understand that.

Yeah but the show has an Island of Misfit Toys, and an Elf that wants to be a Dentist, because the best way to drive home a metaphor is to use a sledgehammer.

Ah good, Andrew's "bait everyone into arguments with the most asinine topics" threads have a Christmas ribbon on them. Great.

He's the gift that keeps on giving, so it's apropos.

Let's face it, without him we'd have nothing to talk about. Especially since CyberCubed has decided we're no fun anymore, and/or found daylight.

Yes. Or worse, they'll believe something is prejudiced just because someone tells them it is:

Too complicated.
They see first 5 seconds, take everything at face value, and run to the closest Tumblr or Twitter to write an outraged letter to the masses.

Contexts, nuances, multiple layers, they don't exist for those people, since they have stuck in infantile and childish mentality that everything is either 100% good and not problematic or 100% bad and problematic (and therefore should be erased from the face of the Earth forever, despite those people denying that they are for the censorship).

Yes. It is indeed flummoxing when people miss the point of things and get bent out of shape about it. Indeed.

It really gets back to my whole "we've run out of cliques" thing. No longer are there easily definable groups of people that people can belong to i.e., rockers, rappers, skaters, goths, etc., or at least anywhere to the extent there were 20 years ago. So there's this void (that appears to be exacerbated by college teachers) of "I want to belong to something!" that is getting filled by any one of 30 gender identities and/or who can find the most things to get outraged about.

Patrick Stewart argued with Whoopi. Captain Picard convinced Guinan that she was wrong about Hugh.

Or was it the other way around? Crap, I'm not sure now...

The other way around. It was Guinan that begged Picard to meet with Hugh just once to see what he was doing was wrong. Then he did that and sure enough, changed his mind about using Hugh as a trojan horse. Which... kind of ended up happening anyway.

Dammit, you're right. Great episode. Followed up by... well, not the greatest episodes for the Borg, Hugh, OR Lore. "Descent" was a weird story.
