Ed Neil played the character while Robert provided the voice. Think like David Prowse in the suit and James Earl Jones overdubbing the voice.

Thanks for sharing. I thought that his health was improving. Pass along anything additionally released. I may not be a PR but anymore, but I loved Lord Zedd to this day and I appreciate his work with Digimon Adventure and in general. Thanks, for the childhood impact, Mr. Axelrod.

Two men played Darth Vader. One in the suit as the body actor while the other is the voice actor. The same thing happened with Lord Zedd. Two men played him. One played the character in the suit while another provided the voice in post-production which is the situation with Lord Zedd. Robert Axelrod provided Lord Zedd's voice.

Was a talented actor/voice-actor. Was also the voice of Brainy Smurf in The Magic Flute (The American English dub), was also the bartender in Death Wish 4 where Bronson was posing as a wine vineyard salesman. RIP Robert Axelrod.

He was the first voice actor I ever met at an anime convention. I remember when I showed him a vhs tape of wowser his eyes lit up for showing something before power rangers that he had helped produced. It was also my first autograph. I will miss him.

Outside of his Lord Zedd voice, I know little about him.

I did see Axelrod with Barbara Goodson at a comic con some years back, but I didn't have much time to talk to either of them.

For what I do remember, Rob seemed like a nice guy.
