I wonder how it'll work without He-Man or when he'll cameo.

Yeah, fake feminism is bad. I hope it's full of real feminism.

It's a show with a female lead. Do you really not understand how people would want to use that to promote female empowerment?

I have to admit, I'm curious to see what a revamped/updated She-Ra looks like. One of the things that kept me away when I was a kid was the lack of diversity, so maybe that'll change this time around.

I hope it's an adventure show for younger kids. I wouldn't want to see it played for laughs, or be too cutesy-poo, but I don't like the idea of it being too YA either. The original show wasn't perfect, but it was very colourful, creative, and earnest.

If it's a reboot in the vein of the 2002 He-Man, I would definitely be interested.
Bonus points if it's a 2D series rather than 3D/CGI.

DreamWorks Animation Television has revealed the cast of the upcoming Netflix original series DreamWorks She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, set to be released globally in 2018. *Aimee Carrero (Elena of Avalor) stars as Adora/She-Ra; Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad) as Glimmer; AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs) as Catra, Marcus Scribner (black-ish) as Bow; Reshma Shetty (Royal Pains) as Angella; Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black) as Shadow Weaver; Keston John (The Good Place) as Hordak; Lauren Ash (Superstore) as Scorpia; Christine Woods (Hello Ladies) as Entrapta; Genesis Rodriguez (Time After Time) as Perfuma; Jordan Fisher (Grease Live!) as Seahawk; Vella Lovell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Mermista; Merit Leighton (Alexa & Katie) as Frosta; Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) as Castaspella; and Krystal Joy Brown (Motown: The Musical) as Netossa. Along the way, she finds a new family in the Rebellion as she unites a group of magical princesses in the ultimate fight against evil. From Eisner Award-winning author and executive producer Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes, Nimona) and executive producer Chuck Austen (Dawn of the Croods, Steven Universe) comes a modern take on the '80s girl power icon for a new generation of young fans. The trailblazing property originally debuted in 1985 to satisfy overwhelming demand for a female-lead fantasy series. With Stevenson's unique voice at the helm, fans are in store for an epic and timely adventure that celebrates friendship and empowerment, led by a warrior princess tailor-made for today." |

i really hope the art isn't as cheap as it looks..and that guys can get into this series too.
one reason i skipped it around the first time is because it looked too princessy and doll centric and cringe worthy for guys to enjoy. although when you watch it, the plot lines are a little more serious than he-man to off set the even goofier characters.

art looks like crap. looks even worse blown up.
EVERY show has a stylized Teen Titans Go type look these days and i'm getting awful tired of it. She-Ra looks like she's supposed to be 12. yet it's been mentioned somewhere that I Think her age is closer to 20.

To me the art style looks closer to the new Voltron series than TTG. I think Catra looks the best out of all the pictures. |

She-Ra looks like a guy in drag.
The animation looks cheap. Character designs look really bad except Catra. |

To be fair it works with He-Man's hard-gay attire.

I guess without a skirt so short, it had to defy gravity to not show panty shots in the old show, or lack of boobs that's vacuum packed in the armor. It's too hard for boys to see if She-Ra is a woman.
There's animation shown? Where, I've only seen still pictures. |

THAT art looks closert to a young justice style. THIS looks more like teen titans go, or steven universe, or adventure time, or.....the list goes on. Glimmer looks absolutely horrible.
