According to Variety, SHIELD was going to be cancelled, but Disney overruled ABC and are protecting it

The first 20 minutes of the premiere were screened at NYCC

First 17 minutes of season 5, episode 1:
Apparently the Vrellnexians are the villains? https://www.cbr.com/agents-shield-cl...-vrellnexians/ It feels like it could be a lot of fun... but is this really going to do much? Last season, SHIELD both became a publicly recognized thing again then fell into disfavor again by the end. Now let's spend a season randomly in outer space fighting aliens not relevant to anything? I dunno...

I mean, so basically this whole show takes place in a pocket dimension where the events of the MCU affect it, but it never affects the MCU?

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/ma...orward-a155938 There won't be any "going forward," almost all signs points to 5 being the last season.

Watching the season premiere. It's interesting. It's full-on Guardians of the Galaxy-style... with a twist.

I guess that solves their problem of tying the show in to the current movies

Nothing to do with Thanos. This show and all Marvel TV are very disconnected from the MCU despite Marvel TV's claim that "it's all connected". It wouldn't shock me if the writers of this show don't even know what happens in Infinity War. |

It used to be like trickle-down continuity, but it just keeps diverging further away it seems like
I personally don't want the TV shows to affect the MCU anymore because Agent Coulson's death* only means something if he stays dead *but I'd be cool with it if they said he's a LMD now; this stuff is based on comic books after all

Holy hell, this new season is turning out to be fantastic. The biggest loose ends from the first couple of seasons are being tidied up proper now, even. It sounds like they're even planning something big to coincide with "Infinity War."

Did the show acknowledge what happened in Infinity War?

It did. Thanos attacking Earth is mentioned a few times and some of the chaos is seen in the background. So far. I bet the season finale this week addresses the "finger snap."
In even better news... IT HAS BEEN RENEWED FOR SEASON 6!!! https://news.marvel.com/tv/89044/mar...-for-season-6/

You can thank Infinity War's box office for this. Only reason this show ever remains on air is because the MCU makes bank.

I hope they go back to basics next season but I just know it'll be some other big twist. Like, dimensions or time travel or something.

I am surprised that it got renewed for another since but happy that it did. Too bad that it will be only 13 episodes.
