Duke Nukem Movie in the works from Platinum Dunes

There's a Duke Nukem movie in the works, and John Cena is in talks to play the character, the film is being produced by Platinum Dunes, which of course produced the two TMNT Movies.

There is no director attached and they are searching for a writer for it.

Because who else other than Platinum Dunes?

Hopefully this'll spawn a whole cinematic universe.

Duke Nukem
Duke Nukem 2: Capture the Babe
Duke Nukem 3: ... ... I'm all out of Duke Nukem jokes, that's all I know.

How about Duke Nukem: Balls of Steel?

Kind of a fitting idea for Platinum Dunes.

Platinum Dunes' investors have balls of steel. I like Duke because I was a teenager in the 90s, but from what I've observed, people in their 20s seem to hate him. I'm going by stuff I see on YouTube mostly, but it's like people don't understand the joke, or at least they don't find it funny.

Shesus, this could be good or it could be PG-13 garbage. This is one character, however, perfect for Cena.

This is the one movie Micheal Bay should direct Duke is nothing but Explosions Girls being exploited as sex objects lots of cursing and dick humor. That is up Bay's alley.

John Cena? He has no place being in movies lol... unless he decides to finally hang his wrestling boots and try a movie career. Hasn't he only been in WWE films studio made movies anyway?

Admittedly I haven't watched WWE in ages nor do I keep track of the movies they make. A quick google/wiki search told me he's gonna be in a Transformers movie?

So doe this mean Cena will move to hollywood or the movie industry asa whole once he quits wrestling?

Btw, don't WWE Studios films bomb in the box office usually? The only big hit they had was The Scorpion King, I believe? The Rundown and The Condemned also drew rather well if I recall.

Not R rated, not full of one liners, not interested.

Let's see if they can get it right.

The odds are automatically against it, of course. As far as I'm concerned, number of faithful video game adaptations to film so far: absolute zero.

But this is not a normal video game franchise, the source material leaves a lot of room, if they go for the Deadpool money they can do it justice, anything else will be horrible.

So did Mortal Kombat. So did Doom. All terrible, ghastly.

Mortal Kombat is as good as you could've gotten back in the 90s, it's good for what it is. Doom might be a low-tier mediocre movie but the FPS out of nowhere scene at the end makes up for it.

This movie doesn't have to be anything like that though, it has to be more like deadpool, self-aware and it'll be awesome, anything else just won't work. I'm not particularly confident they'll get it right however.

Mortal Kombat's first live action movie? It was rather decent from what I remember. granted I haven't seen it in ages, but I recall enjoying it when I was a kid, even if it wasn't anywhere near being a masterpiece.

Street Fighter though... God that one was bad lol. Mario Bors. movie wasn't good either... but you can easily forget it's a video game adaptation while watching it. It really really got way sidetracked from the source material. It's almost a parody of the video game series, really. So I guess that's why it seems to have some sort of cult following.

What about Dead or Alive with Kevin Nash? That movie was fun.

I have a feeling that the movie will be recieved just like Duke Nukem Forever in 2011.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

I'm not really into or understand the "so bad it's good.." but Street Fighter is the only exception. Super Mario Bros. on the other hand is pretty cool, it's such a trippy movie, if you go in thinking Super Mario then yeah it's nothing like it but if you go in waiting to see something cool then it is, I watched it recently to review on my site and was pleasantly surprised.

Dead or Alive, I remember watching it and being disappointed there wasn't more fan service but still didn't hate it for whatever reason. I remember liking the first Silent HIll movie and the first Resident Evil movie isn't so bad.
