I liked it when it was called "Queen of Swords"

These creators live in this microcosm of society where it's like their own world. It's like having two fish in a fish tank and the fish eat each other's ****. It's their whole world. They get caught up in the zeitgeist of their own BS the way that we saw families buying Beanie Babies and Superman #75 in the 90's. It's cultural mania. Millenials are ignorant beyond repair it seems, and liberal-Hollywood think that they are catering to it's money maker audience through millenial zietgeist. But they are not. Instead they are alienating people.

Regular people walk away because this is a virtue-signaling agenda rather than anything widely necessary for advancement. Those regular people don't particularly like having an equality agenda shoved down their throats like a guilt-burger when in fact most people have lived a lifestyle of treating people equally for many decades.

Go woke, go broke. You know why? Because most people were "woke" in the first place already before some idiot had the audacity to put a show called "Dear White People" on Netflix.

Zorro is public domain, right? The first Zorro story turned 100 years old recently.

You forgot the quote marks around "creators" there.

Wow, how progressive and original!
Take male character and change him into female!

It definitely speaks of great creative power and not just token attempt to jump on the "woke" bandwagon.
Shame on those "creators".

Actually this is likely the most interesting thing they can do with the franchise, I mean who honestly cares about Zorro. Also she won't even be Zorro since the female Zorra also means skank/slut in Spanish so unless they're boneheaded she'd have a different name ergo a new character.

I am fully expecting that they won't change her name, because, if they do, than what the point of the whole sex swap and marketing it as the "Zorro" reboot if they can't call her that way?

They can come up with some nonsense about calling her by male name or some such.

Or she masquerades as a man, because who would suspect a meek and gentle lady of being the fearsome devil ZORRO!?

When it fails: "I guess Zorro is just a tired property, nobody likes Zorro anymore."

This isn't even funny anymore, tbh.

Then her name is gonna be changed to Zorra, I assume?

And this begs the question: How long until a female Ninja Turtles reboot?

They already made April black.
It's like only one step away.

Also, I don't have anything against idea of a female Zorro in itself, but suggesting that it will make story better or it will be a "great female representation" is just hilarious.

Well yeah, that's the main problem most people have.

At this rate every character will have either a female or black version of them. As if that automatically is gonna revive dead franchises or renew interest in them. I've never thought I'd miss the era where an anime character getting a haircut was considered character development...

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is a female Zorro already. I'm sure I've seen talk of a few comic series with the female version recently.

So yeah some Hollywood exec slaps down a few trades of the sexy lady Zorro series in front of other execs and says "I've got an idea". Can't really fault them for that.

Hollywood needs "goo boy points". That is aside from the fact that some of the actors and producers are left-leaning and genuinely believe in "Social Justice" crap.

I liked Zorro back in the days, thought the film was fun. I hate how they are rebooting all the old shows and turning it into all girls stuff, it's really annoying me now.

Technically speaking, this is really nothing new. Like Galactus said, there's already been a female Zorro with her own comic series.
