Josh Gad was interviewd by ABC and he shared his thoughts on the short and when he found out that it would be playing in theaters.

“I remember John Lasseter [chief creative officer of Pixar] saying originally it was supposed to be for television. And he said, 'We’re so blown away by it, we think we want to attach it to “Coco,”'" Gad said in an appearance on “Popcorn With Peter Travers.” “And I was like, ‘But isn’t it 22 minutes’? And he’s like, ‘Yeah, it’s unprecedented, but we feel like it thematically connects with that movie so they’re making that play.' And I couldn’t be prouder,” Gad said.

The short is a sequel to Disney’s 2013 animated hit “Frozen.” This time Olaf sets out on a mission to save Christmas after his royal buddies Anna and Elsa realize they have no holiday traditions of their own. Gad says he’s found his happy place with the character.

“As long as my voice doesn’t change too much, I guess I can play him like Don Rickles played Mr. Potato Head, until my 90s,” he joked. “As long as I get to do wonderful projects like 'Marshall' in the interim I would be very happy with that.”

I have watched Coco in theatre and I can safely say that the Frozen short was fine.

Those people complaining are just hateful crazy morons, probably stupid adults who hate Frozen most likely. In my theater the adults and children love it, there are laughters! I can't wait to own this scene hopefully with Coco on blu Ray.

Anyway, go see Coco! Truly a gem.

I went to see Coco the second time yesterday and the ticket seller told me: "There's a 20 minute Frozen short at the beginning". Like wow thanks for the warning

I guess some people did get the theatre people worked up. People are really complaining over stupid stuff.

Anyway I urge everyone go see Coco now!

Olaf's Frozen Adventure was actually going to be playing a theaters for a limited time according to this report from Walt Disney Studios. The question is whether they actually planned on only showing it for two weeks.

“Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” will be in theaters for a limited time beginning Nov. 22.

I remember how my parents didn't like having to sit through How to Hook Up Your Home Theater, which was shown before National Treasure: Book of Secrets back in 2007. Although it was only 6 minutes long, the short had nothing to do with the movie.

A source has confirmed that the short is NOT being pulled from theaters because of negative feedback. It was always going to play for a limited engagement.
