I feel very confused as to what the story for this is even going to be.

I hope it's a full-scale Brainiac attack, requiring many heroes to work together with Superman taking the lead.

Panic In The Sky is one of the best 90s crossover stories, hoping it's that.

Fun fact: The comic book version of Death of Superman is full of C-list heroes.

EXCLUSIVE: María Gabriela de Faría, the Venezuelan actress best known for roles in Fox comedies Animal Control and The Moodys, has landed a breakout part on the film side, joining the cast of James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy.

Her character is Angela Spica aka The Engineer. Part of the Warner/DC flick’s villain team, Angie’s powers stem from nanotechnology built into her body. Created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, she’s the second DC character to bear the name of The Engineer and was first introduced in The Authority vol.1 #1 in 1999.

EXCLUSIVE: We hear that James Gunn has found his Lex Luthor in British actor Nicholas Hoult, several sources tell us.

A movie star was always eyed for this role after Gunn selected fresh face David Corenswet in the title role, and Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Hoult as Lex? I'm fine with it. Plus he's just a couple years older than Cornerswet, which is "just about right," IMO. The people calling for someone like Bryan Cranston for Lex who's almost in his 70s are insane.

Skyler Gisondo, known for his work on HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, has been cast as Jimmy Olsen, the boyish cub photographer at The Daily Planet who works alongside Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

At the same time, Sara Sampaio, the Portugese model known for her Victoria’s Secret work, has been cast as Eve Teschmacher,

Jimmy Olsen is white again, thank God.

Why is Miss Teschmacher in this, wasn't she a creation of the old movies? They could have used Mercy.

Even then. No ham, please. Kind of like there not being any way to take Oroku Saki seriously when he willingly surrounds himself with dimwits in the Fred Wolf show and other children's stuff, there isn't any way to take Lex seriously as a genius bad guy if he's willingly surrounding himself with people like her and Otis. But it's probably a throwaway thing here.

I trust James Gunn will make a good movie, but he's really bloating the movie with tons of unneccessary characters. I know most of them will probably only be in a scene or two, but it's weird to be flooding the first Superman movie with them. All you really need is Superman, Lois, Jimmy, the main villain, and Clark's parents and that's about it.

[QUOTE][The search for Supergirl is one step closer to completion.

Screen tests for the role took place yesterday, according to several sources, with the field now narrowed to two actresses.

Milly Alcock, best known for her work on HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Meg Donnelly, who starred in Disney Channel’s hit musical franchise Zombies and who voices the character in recent and current DC animated movies, both tested in Atlanta, per sources. DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran were present.

Supergirl is a key part of Gunn and Safran’s plans as they piece together their slate for DC Studios. Warner Bros. Discovery hired the duo in late 2022 to reset the path for Warners’ movies focused on DC Comics characters.

Supergirl, who would headline her own movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow after being introduced in Gunn’s own Superman movie, Superman: Legacy, is a key component of that plan

Alcock has my vote. Plus she'd be a little bit more believable as a relative of Corenswet than the other one.

House of the Dragon Australian actress Milly Alcock has landed the highly coveted role of Supergirl in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe.

Alcock played the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO’s first season of Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon. She is repped by CAA, Shanahan Management, Entertainment 360 and Curtis Brown.

Alcock beat out CODA actress Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly, the latter who voiced Supergirl in such DC animated movies Legion of Superheroes and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One.

Starting to feel a little cluttered. Especially launching this thing with a series of "universe cameos". Once the dreams of fans everywhere and now the absolute bane of telling a solid solo superhero movie.

I dunno.... we'll see.
