A bit early in the year for this, but If you were concerned WWE performers would not get the christmas holdiays off this year too, apparently WWE will be taping the Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and New Years Eve/New Years Day shows during the week prior

Cocky dickhead Shinsuke Nakamura has been the best thing recently. Why the hell did WWE wait so long to finally let he and AJ interact? It's been so good. We could have built it even further.
By the way, I'm curious to see what happens with the Money in the Bank briefcase this weekend. Carmella was the worst option when she won it - honestly, both of last years winners weren't the best options - but they held fast even when they got the opportunity to redo it, so now we're here. I suspect she tries to cash in on Asuka and is just murked straight up, which is fine and at least gets it out of the way. I'm kind of hoping they don't, though, because, doesn't the Money in the Bank expire the night of the next years event? As stupid as the Benny Hill ass failed cash-ins have been, I want her to keep getting thwarted and getting more and more frustrated until she panics, goes "**** IT WE'RE DOING IT LIVE" and hilariously dies. It would be the best failed cash-in ever, though I admit Carmella herself might never recover.

This is UFC related, but man...this seems straight out of RAW. Some believe this is a major work.

I do not like Jeff Jarrett, but a GM position is harmless enough that I might be fine with it.

Also, I know Dana White basically wants to be Vince McMahon, but I'd hope he's smart enough not to try and work things like this, because hell, if you do enough of that, people start to wonder if your fights are fixed too, which they don't want.

I'm not super invested, because I don't give a s*** about MMA, but I am curious what the UFC does now. I read White's not sure he wants to continue with McGregor. I wonder if they go through with it. He makes them a lot of money, but now his actions are screwing up cards - two days out, too - and might be starting to cost them. Interesting to see what they do.

It looks like the Mae Young Classic is going to be a yearly thing. A video promo for the network confirmed that it's returning this year. King of the Ring is returning too, though it might be a strictly UK thing? Or maybe it just takes place in the UK, like on a tour. Either way, first time in three years for the tournament. I'm kind of surprised they never went ahead and made the Cruiserweight Classic a yearly thing too, but I guess the purpose of that was more to set up the first Cruiserweight champion, so maybe they felt they didn't need to.

So, that "UK Tournament" thing under the King of the Ring might not have been referring to the KotR, but its own separate thing, because apparently the UK Tournament that launched the UK title is returning this year.
http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/...ournament.html So, maybe three Network tournaments this year? I'm down. I love tournaments.

You know, at one point I liked Del Rio. He's talented. And I get why companies still sign him. He's been world champion in every major North American wrestling company of note save Ring of Honor; two time World Heavyweight Champion and two time WWE Champion for WWE, one time CMLL champion, one time AAA Mega Champion and most recently the Impact/GFW World Champion. He's a big Mexican star and name. But this keeps happening. Sooner or later, if he's not careful and keeps pulling this, no one is going to sign him anymore.
----- Takeover's starting. Anyone else watching tonight? Edit: TakeOver is over now. It absolutely ruled. That said, the number of false finishes in the NXT title and unsanctioned matches got freaking ridiculous. At least three a piece should have been match enders.

I'd put money on it. Foxy's good for an early Rousey opponent, because she's actually a lot better in the ring than people realize sometimes and while she loses almost all the time when she wrestles, she has enough credibility and tenure that she's above "jobber". If I'm booking the start of Rouseys career Foxy's probably where I'd start too.

'Mania was very mixed for me...odd booking choices, but some good matches (Asuka vs Charlotte, Nia vs Bliss, Rosuey and Angle vs HHH and Steph, Daniel and Shane vs Kevin and Sammi), and Reigns vs Lesnar was compelling in a car-wreck way (then the crowd amused themselves with a four-way beachball match)
My favourite matches were the IC three-way and the mixed tag match. Just great stories overall. A conspiracy theorist in me thinks the Cena squash will lead to a longer career vs career match at 'Mania next year |

Brock and Vince had words after 'Mania.
My own opinion here, but it's likelythe crowd reactions pissed Brock off a tad. http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/les.../#.WsunSiIpDYW |

Objectively, 'Mania was very good. Charlotte vs Asuka is the best womens match 'Mania's ever had, one on one or otherwise, the IC title match was fire, the mixed tag blew everyones expectations away, just seeing Daniel Bryan wrestle again was wonderful and seeing Undertaker just straight up squash John Cena in three minutes like so much jobber was oddly delightful.
But man, that show was too. F***ing. Long. They lost everyone in the last hour and it wasn't just because the matches were eh. People were dead tired. Then there's Nak/Styles, which, sadly, was a good match with a dead tired crowd that didn't live up to expectations and ended just as it seemed to be getting into gear. Drop an hour from next years 'Mania. Not every title needs to be defended. Some just won't make it. Shouldn't make it, for the sake of keeping the crowd invested. I mean, hell, as much as the Usos didn't like being off all the prior 'Manias, it's not like that tag title match really helped them out. I'm worried for Nak and Asuka both, now. Two Japanese stars, given the Rumble, and both lose. It kind of seemed like a turning point when they actually won those, because historically WWE's been garbage with treating them with any semblance of respect, save maybe Tajiri. Asuka had maybe the best match on the show with Charlotte and losing the streak allows more to play with in regard to character and story, but WWE's always had a habit of losing interest in wrestlers the second the undefeated streak gimmick dies. Plus, where does she fit in now? Does she get a rematch at the next PPV? Or does she stick with Raw, since she never seemed to make a full jump despite challenging Charlotte? Nak, meanwhile, had a match that underwhelmed, has blown three WWE title match opportunities and hasn't had a classic since moving up. The heel turn could work wonders for him, but when does he accomplish something? The ending to Brock and Roman was great, but man, the match leading up to that? Just completely ridiculous. That building did not care. Plus, five F5 kickouts? Seriously? Most of the other big stars couldn't kick out of one. The Undertaker, once the strongest character at Wrestlemania, couldn't kick out of three. And they wonder why people hate Roman Reigns? Still, despite all that, it was satisfying to see Roman get got and with authority at that. Great show that lost steam at the end. Quote:
I wonder what happens from here. The Universal title is billed to be defended at the "Greatest Royal Rumble" special. Do they have Brock just drop the belt there? His contract's supposed to be up. If so, who to? Or do you ride it out to Summerslam and have someone take the title there? They haven't said what the prize is for winning the GRR. Summerslam title match?
