Netflix's Dracula
Has anyone else watched this? I stumbled upon it by accident the other day and binged it. I'm really divided on what to think about it.
On the one hand, I'm a big fan of the Dracula story, and I find a lot of the adaptations to be very entertaining. On the other hand, this one seemed a bit off. A lot of the story seems painfully forced. The first two parts went too far in depth with little connection to the third, and there's this weird issue of an unnecessarily gender-bent Van Helsing. I like the actor playing Dracula. I think he does it very well, despite the incessant blood puns that rarely landed. The "Murder on the Demeter" was a cool idea. I just feel like this is two different stories that don't fit together. Either go with the modern update or go with the Victorian retelling. Doing both didn't seem to fit together very well. Your thoughts?
