An all-new Doctor Who webisode airs at 11:00 AM in the UK today on the official DW website, "The Music of the Spheres" featuring David Tennant as The Doctor opposing a stowaway aboard The TARDIS set to live music from The Doctor Who Prom.

Also, it's been confirmed that Big Finish will be adapting three Doctor Who stage plays from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.

This will include "Seven Keys To Doomsday", an Alternate Universe Doctor Who story, with Trevor Martin reprising his role as The Doctor from the stage play version, and "The Ultimate Adventure", featuring Colin Baker as The Doctor (though Jon Pertwee also performed as The Doctor in this play also). The latter is particulary noticable as it features a true team-up between The Daleks and The Cybermen of our own reality

That was kewl and deep. I have no idea what this Dr. Who prom thing is tho.

Loved the Beethoven joke.

Edit: So...a prom is some sort of concert thing??? I found a website that has the audio of it. The music is VERY soothing. I love it.

Rumour has it that Patrick Stewart is gonna have a reacurring role on Dr. Who. This would totally rock cuz Patrick is a MAJOR Whovian and has been wanting to be on the show.

http://trekmovie.com/2008/10/05/patr...on-doctor-who/

Quote:
According to the report in The Star, Stewart has been offered the role of a rival Time Lord called the ‘Meddling Monk,’ a character last seen on the series in 1966. The Star quotes a ”Star Trek insider’ (they probably meant a Doctor Who insider) saying “Patrick has been formally approached to star in Doctor Who and is very keen to do it.” The report notes that Stewart will take the role if his film commitments allow. However Stewart, does not appear to have any film commitments and besides doing voice work and commercials, his focus has been on the stage in recent years.

Although The Star is a dubious publication, Stewart has previously expressed interest in doing a spot on Doctor Who. A year ago we reported that the actor told North Scotland "I have been (a fan) actually yes, and deeply dismayed that I was never asked to be in it! I think it’s a terrific series." At the time he was also quoted as saying "I would love to be in Doctor Who. I am doing some RSC work with David Tennant next year so who knows? If we gel on stage we could on screen." Now a year later Stewart’s run with Tennant and Hamlet is a sold out hit that runs through to next January.

Tennant’s work with the RSC has actually cut into the Doctor Who schedule and so for 2009 there will only be four ’specials’ instead of a regular season. These will begin shooting January, after Stewart and Tennant wrap up their work on Hamlet. Tennant is expected to return to the role for a full season to air in 2010. According to the Star report, the BBC is ’so keen’ to get Stewart that they would save the character for him until the 2010 season if needed.

Doctor Who site Planet Gallifrey reported on Patrick Stewart possibly playing The Meddling Monk a week ago and again today. One of these reports was picked up by io9. It is possible that The Daily Star repackaging these, or they may have their own sources. For now we will just have to wait.
Patrick Stewart as a Time Lord?!....Squee!!!

The Monk is a great character, more a bumbling prat version of The Master played superbly by Peter Butterworth. He's also the first Gallifreyan besides The Doctor to meet The Daleks.

He appeared once more in a Peter Davison comic strip and was a primary villain in the Virgin New Adventures Novels also

Billie Piper had her baby! A boy named Winston James Fox. Her hubby is Laurence Fox (a grand-nephew of the Queen). Billie was in labour for 26 hours before undergoing an emergency c-section! oi!

Meanwhile tho... anybody watching Sarah Jane Adventures series 2?? Oi... scary stuff with the evil clown.

Tennant, you arrrre OUTTA HERE

David Tennant is to stand down as Doctor Who, after becoming one of the most popular Time Lords in the history of the BBC science fiction show.

Tennant stepped into the Tardis in 2005, and will leave the role after four special episodes are broadcast next year.

Three years was "about the right time" to play the role, he told the BBC.

He made the announcement after winning the outstanding drama performance prize at the National Television Awards.

"I think it's better to go when there's a chance that people might miss you, rather than to hang around and outstay your welcome," he said.

I don't ever want it to feel like a job, so I want to move on when it still feels exciting and fresh
David Tennant

His stint in the show had been "the most extraordinary time, it's been bewildering, life changing, very exciting", he said.

"And just so much fun, such a great show to work on.

"That's one of the reasons I think it's right to take a deep breath and bow out when it's still fun, when it's a novelty.

"I don't ever want it to feel like a job, so I want to move on when it still feels exciting and fresh and that means I'll miss it."

yeah this "doctor" dude can't be the 11th cos he'd recognise himself.duh! dont like that guy he's gotta ego bigger than 6ths!!

i am gonna missss the 10th! he could have easily surpassed tom baker's 7 year run if he let himself keep going.
i hope the specials have better writing than last season, it felt weak to me and there was a bit of cheesiness as well. the tie up with rose was eh...a letdown. but doesnt matter. on to the new stuff! WOO!
