Yeah, I don't see the big deal. Those showings aren't hurting anyone.

So I saw this 12" figure at my local retail store and am planning on picking one up. She comes with lots of accessories and weapons.

Spoiler:

Much better than the derpy-looking 6" figure from the BvS line.

True. Right or wrong, this sort of thing serves to alienate a ton of dudes on the fence about seeing it. "Cool, butt-kicking comic book movie with a super charming female lead" can very easily morph into "Feminist Movement: The Movieā„¢" if this sort of thing catches on, with which there's nothing overtly wrong with... it's just, there's a large % of dudes that aren't interested in paying to go and see that. Like, at all.

I see the reactions already from a lot of folks male and female on Facebook. "These dudes angry about the Alamo should grow up and grow a pair!! Blah blah, the women deserve their private screening!!" They're not even necessarily wrong. My only concern is that... what would these people prefer? SJW "justice" in all of this... or WW to be a success? Because I'm not totally convinced you can have both in cases like these.

Dead link, man.
re feig and pascal. both are noted femenists and speak at femenist conventions. it's pretty clear where they stand based on their work ..

I wouldn't have a problem with an all woman screening, but ONLY if it's done for the right reasons. if it truly was some kind of charity thing...like for breast cancer awareness or something like that, no problem.

if it's to exclude dudes to celebrate 'girl power' not so much. it's more important Wonder woman succeed so we can get DC off FOcusing on only Freakin' batman. but turn it into a femenist statement and men AND women will avoid it like the plague .

If this is true, it could spell doom for the DCU (not that I would mind) and woman-lead superhero films, which would be a tragedy.

To what history being erased do you refer?

To be fair, maybe intentionally forgetting?

Cheesy as it was, omitting it would still be heresy. Female heroes have been a thing for decades now. Xena, anyone? How about Lara Croft? The ORIGINAL Wonder Woman? Etc......

Lol I'm watching it right now! It airs on H&I on Saturdays as part of their "Comic Book Heroes" lineup. Superman, Batman(60's), Green Hornet, Swamp Thing, Sheena, Xena, Hercules, Greatest American Hero, and Tarzan.

It was obviously only a matter of time until the alt-left made this movie all about social justice. If it's good and no one watches it then it's because of misogyny if it's bad and no one watches it's because WB can't make a good movie. More likely, no one wants to watch WW, not for it to be a huge hit anyway, it'll be a "disappointment" but likely make money in theaters.

i disagree with the last part. I think people are tiring on batman just as much as i am.

I WANT to watch wonder woman. i just don't think gal gadot is all that great for a lead role actress. cute looks and sexy accent don't add much if you can't act great..just look at all the oscar worthy stuff the rock has done on the ladies side ;o).

I was pretty happy that up until now that the SJW's havn't made a big fuss about wonder woman. i was hoping all that nonsense would stay away from it.

i'll see the movie in the theatre and judge it for myself.

i really don't like hearing any reviews for a movie before watching it.

much prefer going in without any sort of preconceived notions.
