Cool to see Paulsen's cameo! I wish he had featured more in the video though, because Irate Gamer really isn't my cup of tea. I'm tired of people trashing NES games that play perfectly well because of "what they weren't." The NES didn't have many quality beat 'em ups, and the TMNT Arcade adaptation filled the gap admirably.

Also, I appreciate the first TMNT game more the older I get.

this guy is just a pale copy of the AGVN. he doesn't even deliver the swearing with enthusiasm. like he has to slog through it.

I am not ashamed to say i just fast forwarded to the Rob bits.

Heck, if Rob's doing things with fans to keep the TMNT love alive, maybe Dr. Winters and I ought to ask him to help us resurrect the fan commentaries...time permitting.

Oh, yeah! Let's look into that!

Slash and Ace Duck

Slash wasn't introduced until 1990. And Ace Duck was never a bad guy.

Yeah, I never watch his stuff, although I might just for this, later. I've just seen and heard so much about what a dollar store knockoff he is that whenever I see him I involuntarily roll my eyes.

I didn't even bother watching the video AVGN did with him, yet. I plan to, I just haven't gotten to it. It feels like the Galaxy Warriors showing up on an episode of "Masters of the Universe" or something.

Also if we are going to get nitpicky the Ace Duck action figure came first. It certainly based on the weird cameo the character kinda had as in Attack of the Big Macc.

He's never been my cup of tea at all however back in the day I always felt a little sorry for the guy who quickly became such a huge hate figure. He certainly wasn't the only youtuber to blatantly rip off AVGN and there is never been any sign that James Rolfe was anything but flattered than he took inspiration from him.

So while not my thing I'm kinda glad opinions on him have softened over time.

Heh, apparently there's a dedicated Irate Gamer Hater blog.

Again, not my cup of tea. I'm perfectly fine if people want to like something, even if it's not my thing. But this review really goes to town on all the laziness in the original video:

Hm...$65 for a prerecorded Cameo...well that kills having him as a guest. Not that it's to expensive, though I'm sure a 25 minute commentary session may be multiple Cameos...and we'd have to script it and make sure it didn't turn out like this:

I might check this out. Irate Gamer...I'm still so-so on him and always preferred AVGN to him...but Rob Paulsen! He's awesome!

Don't. The nerd only appears at the beginning and the end of the video. I skipped through it.

Eh, like I can see what Irate Gamer did but like..... basically if you can afford him, anyone can pay Rob Paulsen or any celeb to say a few lines via Cameo and then splice them together in the video. It's the same kind of 'guest starring' like when AVGN was actually interacting with Macaulay Culkin and Gilbert Gottfried. Like if I had the spare cash even I could have done that.

Not even that he appears like... halfway through the video when Irate Gamer gives up and calls the hotline and gets the Nerd instead.

I think that, for Macaulay at least, it was free. The guy really wanted to make a video with him. He even did some other cameo for other movies reviews.
