It's just the style of art.
I tend to draw black/colored hard shadows and sometimes it can get mistaken for something else.

Yeah on his upper thighs. You can also see them in this photo not just the toy picture.

So masks you say. Seriously? So maybe his legs don’t rub together and cause chafing?

I hope so. It just seems weird otherwise.

They're shadows. Also, if they had pants, ya think Playmates would just leave them off? Do you see Hasbro making pantless Captain Americas? No. Because they're not pants.

Lets wait and see, maybe they are wearing shorts after all?

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

They're clearly stylized shadows, not shorts. As said they have the same thing under their arms and armpits.

So these are stylized shadows in post #114? I’m confused.

I’m hoping to get a clarification and opinion from Cubed. Surrounding the linked toy photo with the red bands around Raphs upper thighs. Are they what he is referring to as stylized shadows.

Isn’t Internet communication fun.

In the toy they end up looking like shorts due to Raph being condensed to look smaller in his toy form but in the offical artwork where he is huge, the red straps are just on his upper thigh as opposed to being full on shorts.

In the art work the turtles got black stylized shadowing. Somehow Raph got red shadowing added as well. Then Playmates decided to keep the look of the red shadowing when creating the toys. Is that what is going on?

So far, this show sounds like the Fant4stic of the TMNT franchise.

Hmmm ...

Yeah, it looks like they are associated with common shapes.

Raphael: Square (■)

Leonardo: Triangle (▲)

Michelangelo: Circle (●)

Donatello: Rectangle ()

So we're waiting for this Fant4stic to turn into Black Panther?

Uh, no. While Fant4stic is a terrible movie on all accounts, the main reason it turned so terrible was that it was that it had to be made in order to prevent a license from expiring. (Which is ironic seeing how the studio is just going to merge with the rival who threatened the license in a couple of months).

This is, most likely, never going to happen to TMNT in the forseeable future. If anything is the Fant4stic of TMNT, it's the Red Sky seasons.

Is it just me, or do both men look completely unrecognisable after the FF movies? Jordan at least grew a beard and got a new hairstyle, with Evans I can't put my finger on it.
