Good episode today, they have the Mechanic on their side, and we learn what happened to Kayo's old partner Rigby

Yeah I enjoyed today's episode.

Lots of small emotional moments, there facial expressions have been on top.

Spoiler:
The GDF spy is a rogue GDF soldier, a lot people were worried that it was Rigby.

The Mechanic just turns up using Scott's launch tube

Episode 23 - Venom, airing February 1st.

When a rare spider bites a scientist, Scott must locate the anti-venom carrier drone in a dense rainforest.

At first I thought Venom and Spiderman were going to appear.

So

Spoiler:
Doctor Who's Peter Davison was someone who worked at Professor Moffat's division who had a deal with the Chaos Crew to steal the Centurium 21 (Centurium 21=Century 21, another reference to the comic that published the Thunderbird and other Anderson era adventures in the 60s), Penelope tracks him down and tricks him into handling the Centurium 21 over to her, angering the Crew when they arrive to give him his money (all he got was an autographed photo of Penelope)

Scott doesn't trust the Mechanic

And Kayo has a fear of butterflies! Scott finds it hilarious, and ends up telling Virgil despite Kayo's protests

Great episode and a bit sad that this the final normal rescue before part 1 of final next week.

Great to see all brothers working together to save the 2 kids and stop the fires.

Nice to see the Crablogger from the original show, shame we didn't see it in motion.

Spoiler:

Virgil picking up Brains and hugging him was adorable
I like that Scott used to be a scout and teaches the kids how to tie knots
Loved the bro banter, especially Gordon teasing Alan that he hasn't had a bath in weeks and Alan replied that it was 2 days ago
Dat ending though Scott looking sad while staring at their Dad's desk then says (assemble the Thunderbirds Brains, lets go get Dad)

Series finale off to a good start

Spoiler:
Kayo has to stay behind to take on the Chaos Crew, who attack Tracy Island in the Chaos Cruiser and destroy the rig holding up the Zero XL, luckily it's able to launch successfully (there's also a very clever nod to an older Gerry Anderson series when Brains says they may end up a 'fireball'...as in 'fireball XL')

Thunderbird Shadow succeeds in downing the Cruiser, and everyone left on the island (Kayo, Grandma, Penelope, Parker and The Mechanic) decide to help recover them, but the Crew are planning to keep them distracted long enough to carry out The Hood's plan...he's snuck on board the Zero XL!

Havoc attempts to fire a disruptor missile at Penelope and Parker as they search for the cruiser in FAB 1, but Fuse stops her...he's having a crisis of conscience.

International Rescue make it to the cloud, and find the asteroid containing the remains of Jeff's craft is breaking up. Braving the unstable gravity of the field, They find his craft but it's seemingly empty. Scott reassures Alan they'll find him and sends him ahead back to T3, but is caught in a 'quake and almost falls off the asteroid, but somehow catches him just in time, it's Jeff!

Amazing episode, I was at the edge of my seat throughout. The score, visuals/animation were just breathtaking.

Spoiler:

Alan graduated from high school so he must be between 16 -18 years old
Parker going down Scott's Launch Tube
Loved Grandma's Speech to her Grandson's and even though we already heard it in the trailer, it was still emotional.
Loved the countdown moment when the camera cuts to the brothers
Finally get to see John in TB2
Just love that emotional moment between Scott and Alan

We finally see what Jeff looks like.

Another fun finale reveal

Spoiler:
The 'countdown theme' that plays whenever the boys suit up and launch actually exists in the show. Max is playing it when the family assemble at the Zero XL, and Brains tells him to stop

...Yeah, not sure how to describe this finale as anything but disappointing

Spoiler:
The Hood is beaten way too easily, just when it looks like he's going to take the Zero XL out of the boy's reach, they use something to delay it's launch to get back on board. Hood then blows his own cover by not being smart enough to call Jeff anything but "Mr. Tracy". Brains and Max were somehow imprisoned off-screen, and then but got out off-screen.

The Chaos Crew were embarrassed too, with Sherbert the dog being more than a match for them, and Fuse being lectured by Grandma. They posed no threat at all.

Alan got his graduation ceremony...have to admit, when Jeff said he had to wear the hat, I thought they meant they'd wear the original hats from the classic series.

Nice to see the series end with Jeff back at his desk, but overall, part one was MUCH better than this. Too bad, I know they crapped the bed with the finale last season, but they topped themsleves with a much flatter resolution here. RIP Thunderbirds Are Go (2015-2020)

I did enjoy it, it was pretty emotional but the action did feel a bit flat.

Spoiler:

Things I loved

The reunion between Jeff and his Sons
Virgil being a medic and taking care of his father
Finding out Sally used to be a Doctor
Jeff doing the countdown
The Reunion between Mother and Son
Alan's Graduation ceremony
Jeff back at his desk, while his sons were at a rescue.

Things I was disappointed in

I was hoping more fight action between The Hood and the Tracy's.
The Chaos Crew gave up too easily.
I thought the fight on the island was a bit too long
I was hoping there would be a hug between Jeff and Kayo

I would like to have seen 1 more season with Jeff involved but Sadly it's now finished.

It looks Rob Hoegee has left it open for someone else to continue it. So maybe ITV could go back to it one day.
