The next classic Who release on Blu-Ray is series eight, coming in 2021. Katy Manning returns as Jo Grant for the trailer

All very cosy and fun, but why isn't any of this in an actual Jodie-led season?

First time I've misspelt them since I used to call them "Southarans" when I was Six

Looks... all right. I suppose that's the best we can hope for. At least that means there's a possibility of being pleasantly surprised.

Being a Doctor Who fan is the only reason I can relate even slightly to football (as in soccer) fans at all. You support your team, even during the periods when it's not winning much. I've been supporting this one casually since about 1980 and formally since 1988, so there's no giving up on it now.

Oh, and am I the only one who's not particularly excited to see Barrowman back? I quite like the character - I suppose - but a quick google of Barrowman and antics would tell you why I for one would not want to be around him.

Well, now the original post has been fixed that makes no sense.

Ryan was worthless Graham was decent. the worst most dull companion in the history of Who Yaz is staying ugh. Also Yaz has no chemistry with the Doctor either.

Agreed. Mandip is a woeful actress, probably the worst we've had on the show, Jodie will have her work cut out for her. Bradley is kind of too big for the show as it is, but he lasted longer on it than I had thought. No lie, I kind of 'shipped him and The Doctor.

One thing that isn't just a rumour is what Barrowman said today as a guest on The One Show

He mentioned that he and The Doctor have a moment where they 'lock eyes' and all the love they have for each other washes over them. Guess that's the little "bi" moment that confirms The Doctor swings both ways then.

I got an early Christmas present in the post this morning.

I learned the unofficial fanfic novel Time's Champion, which was originally released back in 2008, had been given a second printing and was being distributed through Telos Publishing. I instantly set up an account there and purchased it....and good thing I did too, because it's now out of print.

For those who weren't aware, Time's Champion was originally pitched to BBC Books by the late DW novelist Craig Hinton shortly before he passed away. It would become one of no less than three alternative perspectives on what the Sixth Doctor's final adventure would have been before he regenerated into his Seventh incarnation. The other two were Spiral Scratch by BBC Books, and The Last Adventure: The Brink Of Death by Big Finish.

After Hinton's death in 2006, his friend Chris McKenon completed work on the book based on Hinton's notes and released it under the provision all funds go directly to the British Heart Foundation. The BBC allowed it, an unsanctioned fanfic, to be published, and for this secondary reprint, they've allowed the Doctor Who logo to be attached to it, and it's even listed as a Target novelization (previously it had the format of the Virgin Missing Adventure range)

Time's Champion is probably the most complex and lavish of the three alternative takes on Colin's regeneration, and throughly explains just how The Doctor became the god-like schemer that Seven would be well renowned for.
