#0? Safe to assume then that it is purely intended as a promo for the upcoming series? Rather than the start of an actual comic series, whether or not one happens.

Will the TMNT be able to master their new weapons, or will the weapons master them?!
I wonder what they mean by this.

Innuendo for wtf is Nick doing.

Really though, it sounds like an angle similar to 2012 April losing control to that alien crystal thing.

Probably just that the mystic weapons are a real handful to deal with at first but will ultimately make the turtles all the more fierce.

That's the vibe I'm getting.

We've heard that Leo's sword will be able to cut portals in the air that lead to the mystical city underneath New York; I wonder what powers the other bros' weapons will have and if the showrunners will make Donnie using tech instead of mystical powers a plot point or nah

By the end of the series, they'll probably be protecting their spirit dragons from out of the astral plane or something.

Again, I really don't see the problem with this magical powers have always been a staple of marital arts fantasy films/cartoons/tv shows.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

Perhaps we need time to get used to the Turtles having more than their normal talents and weapons (leadership/swords, rage/sai, smarts/staff, wild card/chains), or maybe magical weapons aren't as effective as personality/weapons skills.

It depends on how well the power is used, or what it exactly is.

Spoiler:

Leo's "skeleton key portal open" ability sounds neat. Not sure he should be the one to have it.

One thing I'm really excited for is the new April!

I haven't seen much of this new April, but I already like her more than 2012 April. I felt the last April lacked personality....Was given crazy "powers" as an attempt to make her interesting and was pegged down by the ridiculous love triangle. I haven't seen seasons 4 or 5....but she mostly only talked to Donnie...it didn't feel like she had a relationship with the other turtles.

Just from the trailer I can already see this new April is going to have a fun personality! I just hope she's not a love interest to any of the turtles....I also hope she remains human. Please no..Krang/Mutant/Psychic...There are other was to make April interesting than making her some crazy experiment.

I like her bat weapon too! It's a skill she already knows (maybe playing baseball) instead of trying to become a ninja.

I'm also excited for April!

I wonder what type of power her bat will hold.

(I'm also intrigued with her possible interactions with her new pet, Mayhem! Hopefully, they won't cause her too much distress! )

I'm on board now with the design of Leo, Raph and Mikey. But I still can't get over the overall design they gave Don.

It's weird, I'm totally fine with Don's design and think he looks fine. Leo and Mike look the most "normal" but Don doesn't seem all that different. I'm surprised so many people have a problem with him.

I think its the rectangular shaped head people don't like.

Well, for some people I guess weirdly flat square heads are the new nostrils. (Not to mention eyebrows. ON his mask.)

There's gonna be shippings for every single work of fiction

It doesn't matter if its not done by the creators, the fans are gonna go wild!

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

Oh.

Well, I hope that none of the Turtles' pull a PPG!2016 (or Breadwinners, or any modern cartoon, really) and start shaking their booties (a.k.a. twerking). Like, I seriously and sincerely hope that doesn't happen here.

That would be disturbingly disgusting.

Thats actually a concern you have? I can't tell if you're serious or joking at this point.
