The Hands were who imprisoned Perpetua within the source wall to begin with, they're also entities that have occasionally popped up in many cosmic DC titles and stories over the decades in both minor and slightly major ways.

That was a head spinning read and I have read most of the issues referenced too. I just assumed The Hand was God's that Korna observed. So God, The Anti-Monitor, Volthoom, Perpetua are The Hands? I am getting dizzy.

So I finished reading Death Metal's finale just now. Sometimes it felt like a really big lump of sugar candy.
So BC were right in we now have to call it the DC Omniverse from here on out. I have zero interest in the Future State books Geoff Thorne kicks off this interview talking about how BC gathered up his various tweets and comments lambasting Hal Jordan to stir up s*it on the internet. |

How does the DC Omniverse differ from the ending of Doomsday Clock? Wasn't that an omniverse of some sort? I am taking January and February off of DC as well. Hopefully there will be something for me aside from Justice League#59.

He briefly dropped the Robin mantle after he fell out with Bruce and the Teen Titans, and didn't have an identity for a while during his appearances towards the end of Tomasi's Detective.

Well, that's that. Bendis may have a few projects left to do at DC, but he is no longer exclusive to them. He can go back to Marvel if he wants to.

So what's the consensus on The Bendis Experiment?
I gave the first couple issue a try when he came on but it didn't entice me to stick around. Didn't hate it, but didn't love it enough to make regular hour-long roundtrips to the comic book store. And his dialog suuuuuucks.

Didn't read his Legion of Superheroes. I know some like it but most Legion fans seem to hate it but they are pretty finicky bunch when it comes to their favourite franchise. |

Bendis was very up and down for me. I think he put his best effort into Superman all things considered, the United Planets concept is a really interesting one, Clark being put in charge of that can inform cosmic tier stories for a while and it seems they'll be getting to that sometime this year.
The public identity reveal was handled rather well and it's a great feel-good issue...not much else was made of Clark outing himself afterwards though, but then, Bendis' run was cut short not long after once it became apparent his sales weren't improving. But if Superman was his best work on the character, his simultaneous Action Comics run was attrocious. It was this series that gave us some of the more unlikeable Lois moments (she's much warmer and lovable in Superman) and characters that didn't pose much of a threat at all in Leone and Red Cloud. The Melody Moore mayor plot, along with her bonding more with Clark and being taken into his confidence, also ultimately didn't lead to much other than a brutish demise for her character. Just a lot of directions that led nowhere, and perhaps there was too much of an awkward sort of cheese piled on top of some serious subject matter? Ultimately Bendis' biggest failing was the 'trauma', or lack thereof, inflicted on the Super Family. Lois abandons her son to space with genocidal Jor-El and he winds up tortured in an alternate earth for years...and comes back to Earth relatively level headed? Clark punches a few glaciers out of frustation with this but cools down, and Lois seems to get over it i too....I get Bendis wanted to show the family could rise above anything, but you can do that if spread a little more across months and years, not right freaking away! Never bothered with his Legion series. |

Well... In the case of Miles potentially becoming "Spy-D", I can play devil's advocate and point out that Scarlet Spider, Black Spider, Tarantula, Spider Slayer, Venom, Anansi, Spinner, Blood Spider Spider, Aracnido, Iron Spider, Ghost-Spider, Spider-Boy, Spider Hero, Spiderling, Spider-Kid, Spider-X, Steel Spider, Web-Man, Webslinger, Wolf Spider, Bone-Spider, Stealth Spider, Spider-Sting, Slinger and probably a few others are already taken. If most of the logical names already apply to other characters, of course you'll come up with some horseshit.

Bendis has shot the Shazadam thing down on twitter...probably just a one-like joke in JL that's been blown out of proportion.

Interesting 'scoop' from BC today regarding a proposed buy out from a collective of millionaire enthusiasts who want to purchase the rights to the publishing side of DC. Warner and AT&T would still control television, animation, movies and merchandise.
https://bleedingcool.com/comics/dc-c...lots-of-money/ A lot of what I heard in 2020 fits this narrative. Last year some sites and Youtubers with 'sources' had claimed DC being put up for sale had been 'discussed' and the company as we knew it would close up shop this summer. According to Rich, this collaboration met with Warner/AT&T in 2020 (doesn't specify when), and now he's hearing their preparing their pitch. |

Some more information on this billion dollar buyout pitch
https://bleedingcool.com/comics/othe...-buyout-pitch/ There's been apparently two major pitches in the last few months, one based in Kent, England and another operation in New York. Rob Liefeld, Jimmy Palmiotti (Painkiller Jane), and Dinesh Shamdansi of Bad Idea are all backing Rich on this one as well. |
