He wears a purple bandana which is a highly recognized gay color. He's also usually in most universes the most understanding, polite and quiet. Leonardo and Raphael definitely give off the macho, "toxic masculinity" vibe, and Mikey just seems like a free-spirit but probably straight. Don seems to be the most likely to "swing this way" if you know what I mean.
But not Fred Wolf Donatello. I see him as very different than all the others due to how assertive he was and what a large temper he had. |

So straight guys can't have those qualities...?
Also not sure you even understand what "toxic" means, as none of the Turtles are. |

One of the historical reasons as to why you don't see a lot of people wear purple is because such colors and fabrics were mostly accessible to the nobility or wealthy classes in premodern times. Plain, monochrome colors are the norm nowadays to give the impression that one is serious and professional, as well as that they are easier to maintain. Purple and pink were also in style in the 80s and 90s, and many still wear those colors today.

Nonsense. You don't have to go more than the first 15 issues or so into Mirage (i.e., the source material) to have Donnie being lovestruck over an alien woman.
In fact, an argument could be made that he's the first Turtle to actually exhibit an actual attraction to... anyone.

The problem is she isn't that well-known. Let her appear in a couple of cartoon episodes first, and give her an action figure.

I assume we're talking Jhanna?
While in most cases I tend to feel that people read a lot into stuff that they want to be there, this one though...? Yeah, if you're clutching her braid and hanging onto the moment just a minute longer, guy there's no way you aren't swooning at least a little. It's a shame she hasn't appeared more or at least got an actual arc in the 2003 series. |

All the other turtles are confronted by Male figures. Raph is confronted by Robert E. Howard (the author of Conan the Barbarian) Michelangelo is ambushed by Bruce Lee and Leonardo faces off against his namesake Leonardo Da Vinci |
