Something else you guys should know. Unless Saban renews the contract for streaming these shows on Netflix, we'll be able to stream them until June 15th, 2014.

I hope they renew too. There has also been talk of them putting out episodes on DVD, and I hope that's not just talk.

Saban has trademarked the name "Power Rider"...could this mean another attempt to bring Kamen Rider to our screens?

I heard that only Gokai Silver will be used from the Gokaigers in MegaForce, much in the same way Kiba Ranger (White) was the only Dairanger adapted into MMPR>

Taken with a pinch of salt of course. Is there any truth in this?

There was news about them casting for a Silver Ranger, so it may be true.

By the way, we've got all 20 episode titles for Megaforce, AND their descriptions. I'm just going to post the first two since we know what day they'll air (on February 2nd and 9th).

1. Mega Mission: When malicious aliens make their way to Earth's orbit, Gosei decides to form a new team of teenage heroes to defend the planet and carry on the proud tradition of the Power Rangers.

2. He Blasted Me with Science: The alien invaders send Scaraba, an alien scientist, down to Earth to study the human race and determine how best to defeat them. Meanwhile, Troy finds himself face-to-face with Creepox.

As for the remaining 18, read at your own risk for now. No, holiday episodes are not included.

Spoiler:

03. Going Viral
When Noah has trouble lifting Jake's heavy weapon he begins to doubt his abilities, until he learns that believing in yourself is all that's necessary to get any job done.

04. Stranger Ranger
As the Rangers learn that concentration is essential to perfecting their Ranger skills, they are distracted by a civilian falsely claiming to be a Ranger.

05. United We Stand
Best Friends Gia and Emma are turned into bitter enemies by a vicious monster, Beezara. Meanwhile, the guys are captured by "queen bee" Beezara and turned into her drone slaves.

06. Harmony and Dizchord
When a monster attacks the city with music that produces physical pain, the Rangers must fight back in an unorthodox way with a song of their own.

07. Who's Crying Now?
After Troy deals with some small-minded bullies at school, the Rangers square off against a more dangerous bully, Creepox.

08. Robo Knight
The mysterious Robo Knight joins the Power Rangers. Can he help them defeat toxic monsters that threaten the earth?

09. Prince Takes Knight
While the Rangers are unsure about how to work with the newly-arrived Robo Knight, Vrak captures the robotic Ranger in an attempt to reprogram him for his own nefarious purposes.

10. Man and Machine

When a shadow-stealing monster attacks, the Rangers must teach Robo Knight the power of teamwork in order to defeat him.

11. Ultra Power
The Rangers must find and retrieve a powerful ancient weapon known as the Wild Sword, but Vrak is determined to harness its power for himself.

12. Last Laugh

It's no laughing matter when Gia and the other Rangers are captured by a monster who feeds on human laughter. It's up to straight-laced Noah and no-nonsense Robo Knight to figure out how to work together and save their friends.

13. Dream Snatcher
A dream snatching monster preys on Emma and other humans, eating away their goals and ambitions. With one Ranger down, the team must figure out how to defeat the monster before Emma is lost forever.

14. Gosei Ultimate
When Bluefur and Bigs use the Aurora box to become even more powerful, Gosei and the Power Rangers must pull out all the stops to defeat them and save the earth.

15. The Human Factor
The Power Rangers encounter their first Robotic opponents, who try to convince Robo Knight that humans are the true danger to the Earth.

16. Rico the Robot
When one of Metal Alice's robots malfunctions, Emma and the Power Rangers decide to adopt it and teach it the values of friendship and freedom.

17. Staying on Track
The Rangers must race to save the day when Metal Alice plots to throw the city into chaos by derailing a passenger train. Meanwhile, Robo Knight comes closer to understanding humans when he meets a young boy.

18. The Human Condition
Admiral Malkor awakens from his cocoon stronger than ever and determined to destroy the Power Rangers.

19. The Messenger
The Rangers' victory over the Warstar aliens is short-lived when they discover Metal Alice has turned Vrak into a powerful and menacing cyborg.

20. End Game
When Cyborg Vrak, Metal Alice and the Messenger launch a vicious attack against the Power Rangers, it will take all their powers and abilities to save the earth.

If any of you read the blog about the seasons 8-12 DVD set by any chance, you might have seen that it was updated since it was posted, and it now mentions that all seventeen of Time Force's first thirty episodes on the set (it had forty total) that were edited because of 9/11 and also premiered before that date, are actually the edited versions. Brian Ward from Shout! Factory has been told about the edited versions so he could find the episodes in their original forms. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to find them, and this is what he had to say on the matter:

Here's the thing. I'm gutted.

I've been reluctant to say anything about Time Force until I absolutely had to, which means when the DVDs shipped to the plant. Even then, I didn't know what to say. Frankly, it comes down to this. You will never know just how hard I tried to get this right. This isn't Saban's fault. They helped me out immeasurably in the search for good pre-9/11 masters. The fans aren't to blame because several of them provided me with their personal recordings. But they just. didn't. work. I personally edited five different personal collections worth of video with legit masters, did encode tests and not one of them held up after encoding. I realize that this would have been okay for many of you, but I'm not just making these sets for you guys. Archival bonus features are one thing. But I cannot let the quality of the episodes suffer because of this. Like I said, I'm gutted. And I feel like I've let the fandom down in that regard.

Although it's personally not a deal-breaker for me, I'd be lying if I said that it isn't a disappointment. I will not hold it against Shout! Factory however, since they said they'd do their best to get the unedited versions, and they unfortunately weren't able to. Shout! Factory seems to have done a fine job on these sets, and I still look forward to owning them.

An example of things that were taken out of those episodes were scenes that showed buildings getting destroyed. A mention of a trade center was changed to "industrial center", and a scene with a mutant shooting an airborne helicopter thus causing it to crash into a building was removed from an episode. I decided to check to see if there were buildings getting destroyed in post-PRTF seasons. Wild Force, which comes after Time Force, has an episode where the Kongazord is knocked towards a building, and it ends up falling down on it, thus crushing it. The two most recent Megaforce episodes even show monsters destroying buidings. So it almost makes me wonder if there was really any point in editing the Tim Force episodes. Perhaps they figured we'd be somewhat over 9/11 by now, and even as soon as 2002 when Wild Force was the active season.

Spoiler:
The Megaforce finale will involve an invasion at the end, with airborne ships firing down at cities. It's pretty damn graphic.

That's a shame, I'll just stick to Netflix to watch PR's and when a better release eventually comes out (even if it's 10 years, come on you're in denial if you think this will be the best set ever just because Shout is in charge). I mean sure that's not forever but the contract will likely continue after it expires.

You might not even WANT a better set by the time it comes out, if ever. That's one of the reasons why I'm glad Shout! Factory is putting out box sets that cover multiple seasons. There are quite a lot of them as it is, and they're making sure that the first seventeen seasons to which they have the rights make it to DVD somehow. They got started by making the first seven seasons available as early as August of last year, the seasons 8-12 set will be out this November, and it'll even be possible to have the first 20 seasons in one big set come December of this year. If that's too much for some, then they'll most likely get a seasons 13-17 set out there maybe as early as next summer, and they'll have covered all the seasons they have the rights to distribute. I just wonder how far they'll get with the individual volumes, however. We're currently up to Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers in the individual releases, and will be getting Zeo volume 1 come November, but will they be successful enough to go all the way? For the sake of those who opt to go for the volumes, I hope so.

They did their best to get a hold of the episodes in their original form, but it just couldn't be done. I'll still be getting this set because it at least has special features that interest me. These mega sets were made for the so-called die-hard fans, but as a long-time viewer of the series, I'd say I'm good for it. Besides, by getting these sets, I can shorten my Netflix instant viewing queue a great deal.
