problem with bugs from ebay purchases

Hey guys I dont know where else to post this so here we go. I purchased a figure from ebay a couple weeks ago, when it arrived I threw it on a shelf and never really looked at it. It was MOC but had some dents and bends on it but that didnt matter to me because I was going to open it anyway. Well fast forward today, I picked it up to open it found these little bugs in it. Now mind you my "man cave" is very clean and bug free so I know they didnt come from my home. I also have never even seen this type of bug ever! I messaged the seller about this we'll see what happens since it has been a couple of weeks.

Has anyone else ever had this happen with something they bought off of ebay?

I've heard of people getting silverfish, etc into their MOC figures... saw a post recently actually, wherein a dromer had an entire box of MOC figures with silverfish in them.
Impossible to remove them at this point I'd assume, without opening the figure. Apparently, they're attracted to the adhesive between the plastic and the card back and that's how they get in.

Was probably stored on the ground in a semi-damp area, unfinished basement, garage, etc.

I haven't run into this yet. Knock on wood.

But I do get told horror stories on a regular basis from fellow Dromer Peanut, in regards to the absolute horror that can be inside old NES or SNES carts.

I don't think he's run into it yet either, but its terrifying.

Never been in a situation like that, but I live in a basement apartment with a bit of age to it, so I'm used to small bugs. But, seriously. A MOC product should not have bugs inside it, that sounds like a compromised product.

I made th mistake of storing some comics in the basements, then we had some heavy rainfall and the comics were ruined. But all the stuff I've gotten from E-bay has been pretty good.

I have had silverfish (florida) damage many moc figures that were in boxes in a/c. You have to put them in sealed plastic. Good luck getting a seller to help after all this time. What kind of bugs?

i'm paranoid with these little creatures the so called "silver fish" so every now and then i put a repellent underneath my display. They're actually very cheap, thin, pieces of scented paper that smell very nice and seem to be pretty effective keeping those little bugs away.

i don't even see those silver fish in my man cave at all

Ya the seller was great he actually refunded me the full price and let me keep the April. He didnt know what the bugs were and neither did I. He didnt want the figure back so he said I could keep it or throw it away. I ended up opening her up over the garbage can outside and soaking her in soap and water.

Bugs, EWWWW!!! *does the squicky dance of disgust* Seriously, yuck.

Glad you got the refund though, and hopefully the soap and hot water killed the little beasties off!
