Okay, I have a question for all you veterans of these forums.
What is up with the mango? Why is a mango given to the new members? Why do only certain people get to hand them out? How many posts do you have to have posted before you earn that privledge?
I am not saying this in a negative way, but I am curious as to how this all started.
I want to be able to hand out mangoes, too! *Stamps feet like a four-year old*

The mango is the official welcome that every new member is given to celebrate their arrival to the forums. It's like a "rite of passage" sort of thing.
Only certain members of the forum are able to officially hand them out. It is considered an honor to be given a mango.

Ah, you want to hear the origins of the Mango...very well, follow me...
*enters small room, a golden Mango sitting on a pedestal. Sits down, clears throat and begins.*
The origins of the mango stretch all the way back to March or April of Last Year. a young woman was aassigned a task. A very arduous task, that took much discipline. She studied the life, religions, and traditions of a foreign land, and brought back something to share with her fellow students...a mango. It was part of a sacred recipe, called "Lassi Aamwali" or approriately called, 'Mango Lassie". She was well rewared in her task, and recieved myuch praise from both her elders and equals. In her joy, she decided to spread her wealth of information. She came to this very forum, and became closely acquainted with an unusual creature of great enthusiasm and kindness. She shared her knowledge with him, and thus the giving of a mango as gift was born. Thie tradition has continued for eons (well, months) and now it has become the normal tradition for a newcomer to be given the gift of a mango, and thus pay homage to that historic day. Anyone can give a mango, but use in moderation. Now you know the origins, and now you may know who that young woman was who brought about the tradition...*raises a candle to her face, and she smiles*
Welcome to the forums, and have a mango...
*gives the newcomers a ango of welcome*
*claps for Machias' wonderful story telling* Yes, it was Machias who first introduced mangos to the forum, in the form of the mango lassie's, and Azure took such a liking to them that he became obsessed with the mango. He grows his own now, to eat and give to people. There are welcome mangos, healing mangos, blue mangos, and mangos that give you special powers like talking to sawdust, just to name a few.
Anyone may give out mangos, provided they know where to find them. Most of them are in Azure's secret room, and only he and I know how to get there. However, if you wish to give out welcome mangos, feel free. *gives out mangos to everyone*

Dont forget the new Manoges i brought back from the summer
*pulls a "special Mango" from her pocket, the colors changing at her slightest touch*
These are the greates mangoes i've ever found...You can rub it, and wish for something, and it could come true, OR you can ask it to let you fly. A mango only has about three wishes, and it can decide if a wish is good or bad, and it allows straight flying for about ten minutes at a time...have one :D
*gives out "Special Mangoes"*

I know that, but you said mango harmony? It's important for the new young lad to know that mango life was not all rosey and bright! That they couldn't always snuggle in their beds on a cold winter's night! That the day Roseanne went off the air everyone cheered till the cows came home! NO! The mangos have had a hard life. The evil bums who enslaved them never thought of the mango's feelings, but now they are our favorite gift to new members! THE MANGOS ARE BACK BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what those little creatures were? Cool! At least I know what to call them now.
No, they just gave them to me. There was this mango city at the end of the rainbow, and the Mango Elves greeted me in their native mango tongue. They later told me their city was called Mangolopolus.
But the Mango Elves said that every person who can reach the end of the rainbow is awarded with golden glowing mangos. When I mentioned Azure, the Mango Elves got this surprised look on their faces. They were like, "The legend of Azure Turtle is real? He is not just a legend?"
And I said, "No way, my little ones! He is alive and well. You should come back with me to the Technodrome and meet him."
But they were too busy at the moment. There was a Mangoball tournament going on, and they had to bake Mango Cakes for all the spectators.
The Mango Elves never said what to do with these golden glowing mangos. Do you think they have magical powers?

*takes out a big pipe and rocking chair* well little girl... it all began long ago in my youthul pursuit for adventure and glory. I got lost on the path and missed the bridge or Irco in a massive storm. Dazed, hungry and lost I stumbled forwrd unknowingly now only trying to stay alive... It was cold and wet I felt heavy and ached all over. but I pressed on until I stumbled across an anchient Noopo path, a race of intellegent llama like creatures who after many years of war had long since dissapeared... I followed the beaten up path, lacking any other direction to go. It led me to the home of a heroic 1964 cattillac who gave me food and a map. But the night I was staying with him a band of monsterous pears assaulted the home killing my new friend. I ran as far as I could, but they followed me in hot pursit. thats when I found a last hope, the ventilator shaft of Mangoria. Climbing in I decived the pears and crawled away. but my troubles had just started....
After many days of heroic efforts I realized I was really freckin' lost....
so I buckled up and countinued crawling, only leading myself deeper ino the labeinth!! I then reached a fork in the ventilator, 3 diffrent paths to take, I intitially took the path to the left, oh what a fool I was!! Only 5 feet inward, the shaft turned into a gigantic turtle eating penguin!! I being the higly trained proffessional I am, quickly analyzed the situation, looking for weak points in my enemy and analyizing my position I saw only one solution, I ran around in circles screaming like a little girl... yes it was only what any noble warrior would do. But strategy was futile on the beast, it snached me off the ground and poped me into its mouth like one would do to a kernel of popcorn.
Soon I found my self covered in Penguin digestive fluids and acids, one of the grossest experiences of my life. Well at least thats what I thought until I came out of the penquin (no further explentation nessicary) I fled the scene as soon as I got out and even all the baths in the world have not completely gotten rid of the smell. But the ventilator shafts of Mangoria are not kind!! Only the tough survive, the kind of tough like getting beaten down by an entire varsity football team armed with cricket bats kind of tough... which is precisely what happened next.
But I wasn't ready to give up yet, I wasn't about to crawl up into my shell. I crawled through those ventilators for days, weeks, months, I lost track of time at all, there was no sunlight and the air stunk of dust, corpses and penguin guano. In my pursuit of adventure though I had only run into misfortunes, misfortunes which had not yet ended at all as I learned when enountering my own deepest personal fear: Sumo Winston Churchill armed to the brink with yak hair whips.
This was not a battle which I will ever forget, those yak hairs still sting today!! and even all the blows I layed on him were to no avail, his fat gelatinous stomach absorved my punches and kicks causing racist slurs to spill out of his mouth. conventional attacks were inneffective, I had to rethink my strategy... I took my most prized weapon, the ballistic play-doh hamster and, flung it into my enemy's mouth as more right wing rhetoric was spilling out. Blew him into smitheriens.
With the explosion a hole was made in the wall, which opened up into this magical place called "the technodrome forums" and so since I have dwelt. But the restless heart of an adventure still beats in me, and may it beat in you too child. And for generations to come may it always remain.
the End.

Every mango I've eatten has had a distinct pine flavor to it. I don't always notice it at first, but once I do, they lose their appeal. I'd rather have a good apple, golden kiwi, honey tangerine, papaya, forbidden fruit, or pear any day!

Aw thanks GW!
I've seen 'for better or for worse' and I totally loved their style! Wasn't there someone called April in that strip? Anyway I'm on AIM right now and it was Azure who told me you guys were talking about my drawings so I headed over here and I'm shocked. Thanks for all the great compliments guys!
I was looking into sending a resume into Disney Animation Studios here in Australia (where they made Lion King 2, Peter Pan 2, some gargoyle eps) but sorta gave up. But I got this offer from this woman who's writing a children's book if I'd illustrate for her! She saw some drawings I did on a plastic tablecloth for my little nieces Halloween themed b'day party. (which were terrible drawings I might add)
I would like to make my own comic strip. I'm practising right now with a more story based with that webcomic of mine (Plushie Peril) but these little humour strips are really fun to do 'cos I'm used to fretting about the panel layouts etc in PP where as with these short things I can joke around a lot more.
Someone told me that other day I should get into political cartoons (like what the hell do I know about world politics?!?) So I guess it's tmnt fan politics is what I do. As long as people enjoy them, I'll keep doin' them :)
I'm actually posting another strip tomorrow which I sure is gonna piss of a certain someone that I'm picking on them :p
Pfft! Hey, they begged me to put them in a strip. So I did exactly what they asked.

Psst... GW, the figure with the newspaper (I think Amanda told me that it's actually a comic book) is the artist herself. ;)
~Ahhh...ok. Well, see? She went and changed her hairdo and messed me all up...
Hey, a girls gotta let her hair down once in a while!
Psst! GW, I gotta pic of you and Kali for that idea I had ;)

Well it started when I got an idea for my webcomic and asked Kali and GW for permission to use their online alter egos for these characters that appear in it. I just uploaded the pic now.

I wish I could draw as well as you! I'm trying to draw my own characters but they keep looking like something out of a cheesy horror flick.

Yes, once i was so worried 'cause i thought i wouldn't have internet anymore that i dreamed i was inside irc...it was like buildings with text all over em, and later i've gone to the ninja turtles network forum (the old one =P ) it was a big green field with some giant action figures...then i woke up, it was one of the weirdest dreams i've ever had :blanksta:

oh yeah.. I had one that I was at these forums, and then (if anyone had seen Minority Report), I could see through the text in white and other colors on the smokey pane of glass of the monitor to the outside world. Wierd indeed.... :tsurpris:

GW vs Kali. That ought to lead to plenty of funny moments, ne? ;)
Dreams! I actually had a wierd dream a few nights ago. It was the first time that I ever dreamt of people who post on these forums! It was a strange dream, where HT, Kali, SC, Krang, and myself were sitting around a table, debating whether the Technodrome should stay on earth or go back to Dimension X. What's even stranger is that I pictured all of us as our online personas (or avatar characters). It was weird...

Yeah, it was definitely cool! Weird, but cool. Heh heh... You were wearing all black, with the picture of a skeleton on the front of your shirt. I'm assuming that skeleton was probably Roger. ;)

I hadn;t any dreams of late either though. Did wake up with that American Idol song stuck in my head "Everyone waits a lifetime, for a moment like thiiiiis!" I guess they've been playing THAT song way too much on the radio again...

Cool! I never had a turtle dream though.
My dreams are usually Star Wars or game related.
Like this 1: I had a dream that my uncle was Jabba the Hutt & Oola was my twin sister & that Darth Vader could sing karaoke!

*gets all jealous of Tiger powers cause she's gonna get her own horse*
I did have a lord of the rings dream once, that I was one of the Ring Wraith, and I managed to pull Frodo off the elven horse. Then I woke up at the moment. Gar! :ohwell:
