Those are some really funny looking costumes, they look like the one I had in '91.

This is what the top say's:
(1989.08.16. Theater edition)
Supervision: 朴 number position
The turtle of the グガブリュ evolving into the star, battle star, while forming the world where civilization it does, it has lived. Public state which had the design secret of the コメンドロボット where a scoundrel シャーク party of outer space will invade the battle star escapes the battle star.
Drawing in the wreckage rubbish of outer space with the earth, of processing it started devising the method when 凉 thin it is the justice solution イェシュル in the loyal retainer, the public state party with the earth the クルリョドルオオンダ. Also a シャーク party searching the イェシュルラ, it comes being the earth. After 凉 keeping entering to the laboratory of the loyal retainer thin, it reaches the point where the ヒョックイ which it polluted in gamma-ray shows super power. Accidentally when it is the イェシュル, it reaching the point where it meets to public state, when a シャーク party which gives damage it is art to the human of the earth, combination doing the party and power, you quarrel. 凉 Thin the コメンドロボット being completed with effort of the loyal retainer and the attack 駁 loyal retainer, a シャーク party can be retreated. When it is the イェシュル, the public state party the children returning to the world of the juvenile mind which does not have the scar destined for the battle star going away, is brought up with the strong form.

Under the second pic of the TMNT it say's: "Battle soldier. There is no work which does to be left over. The turtle (the grass turtle) with it changes accurately afterwards, the ham.
How without seeing, the battle soldier, it is the mutant turtle ス ゙, but * & * "

Witnessing that video would be one of the greatest and most f*cked up moments of my life.

Even better, I like the fact that because I don't have the proper language font installed, all the text on that page comes up as question marks. "???????????" is right, buddy. :-?

Good idea. Just sent my letter to [email protected]

Here's what I wrote:

This was brought to my attention on a Transformers site I go to (www.tfarchive.com).

Scroll down about halfway, you'll see some crazy/fugly TMNT costumes.

Do you have any idea what this is? There's all 4 TMNT (red bandanas) as well as what looks like two evil Splinters with guns. Just looking at the subtle changes one would gather that those suit designs were used without permission, but hey, I could be wrong.

Weapon X, a poster at www.thetechnodrome.com ran the page through Babelfish or some other useless translation device and came up with this gem:

Anyway, I can't read Korean and that "translation" only complicates things even more. Do you have a clue what this show was?

Thanks for your time.

Howdy Spengs,

> Do you have any idea what this is?

I'm afraid not - first time I've seen it.

They were used without permission as far as I know - it may have been
a one-time use that qualifies as a "parody".

Thanks for writing!

Cool, and yep I had a feeling there was no permission granted.

Also a parody sounds about right.

I LOVE weird crap like this! :D Have you read about 3 Dev Adam (http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/3devadam/default.php) on i-mockery (or anywhere else)?

BTW the show might have been korean, but that text and site is Japanese. Tommorrow, I'll try to read that site and figure out what's going on. (I need to install japanese fonts first)

GK er..AC, Krang has trouble with Kanji last time I checked.

And, Dr. Spengler, I can get you the links to download more asian fonts for your cmputer assuming you use windows. Do you want them?

BTW, the costumes on that show are still better than the costumes on next Mutation. I like the different colored plastrons.

That would be spectacular.

I know approximately 1000 kanji, but that's just a drop in the ocean. If I can get the font download to work I'll see what I can translate (life would be so much easier if furigana was mandatory).

Yeah, cause then we'd have the clear meaning of Kanji with the clear pronounciation of kana. :)

Anyway, clicking here should lead you to a veritable buttload of japanese text downloads. (http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/japanese.html#links_japancomp) I recommend getting the complete Microsoft Office Language set (assuming you have windows). But, be warned! It matters what version of windows and office so pay attention to which one you download.

Anyway, I'd have to say I'd definately watch a TMNT show with those costumes.

So, uhh... Did you find anything out? (I'm actually too lazy to translate myself if someone else can already read japanese)

DrSpengler
06-30-2005, 10:49 PM
I couldn't get any of em to work. To be honest, I'm computer-illiterate. There's a disc somewhere around here that can load the program spposedly, I just need to find it. Or maybe I can get someone to take a look at that page and show me what I'm doing wrong. I know what Windows I'm working on (2000), just can't find the right download.

Oh, and thanks man.

But I DO know I ended up downloading one of these (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/ime/default.mspx).

GK er..AC, Krang has trouble with Kanji last time I checked.Yeah, I'm still working on kanji, but this is in text form so it is easier for me to look up the kanji that I'm not sure about. I'm not too bad with vocabulary and sentence structure, though, so it's pretty easy to fill in the gaps.

(life would be so much easier if furigana was mandatory). That's for sure. :) BTW, to install Japanese fonts onto your computer, go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options, and on the Languages tab, check the "Install files for East Asian languages" box and click OK (this is for XP, but 2000 should be very similar).

Ok, here's the translation of the captions underneath the pictures. Translation notes are in brackets.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://nandakorea.sakura.ne.jp/koreanimg/pow5_ch1.jpg
I'm already confused.

http://nandakorea.sakura.ne.jp/koreanimg/pow5_ch1arm1.jpg
Battle scene: Juusei Peak. [Juusei means "correction," but I'm assuming it is the name of a location instead.] Here, they transform themselves into the appearance of Earthlings, and afterward, they pour in Komendo Energy. Also, weapons are dispatched.

http://nandakorea.sakura.ne.jp/koreanimg/pow5_ch2.jpg
Battle soldiers. They do not have much work to do. Afterward, they transform into turtles (more accurately, tortoises). [The word "ham" is at the end of this sentence for some reason... :-? ] No matter how you look at it, they are not battle soldiers, but rather mutant turtles. However...

http://nandakorea.sakura.ne.jp/koreanimg/pow5_ch3.jpg
The Battle Star king. He has the body of a turtle, yet he has the face of a grandpa... Bizarre...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I have more time, I'll work on translating the text at the top as well.

And, here it is in it's original Korean. (http://myhome.hanafos.com/~preyoon/koani/pow5.html)

I REALLY must see this movie!

________________________

I just thought of something! That movie was made in 1989. The TMNT cartoon was made in 1988. Now, I'm not sure but it seems to me that Korea couldn't have seen the cartoon at the time this movie was made.

Someone involved in this movie got ahold of a Mirage-book!
