Well, usually I'm on around 10am, and then around 4-5pm. But's that's cause I'm on holidays at the moment. Working days, I'm usually on about 5pm :)

I'm trying to set up IRC on my computer again (Made my computer all screwy last time, and I'm going through www.mirc.com, and it says that after 30 days you have to pay 20 bux registration? I can't afford 30-40 bux (Australian money) for chat software i'm only going to use every so often. Did all of you have to pay the fee? Or is there a way around it?

I hate being all alone in the chat room :p

There is a way around. Just don't pay attention to that. It is a false lead. You won't have to pay anything.

Just screw that...

or, if you want to use something 100% free, you can use another freeware IRC client. Or Chatzilla, if you use Firefox. Or Trillian, that combines MSN, Y!, AIM and IRC.

I actually have all those programmes installed on my computer (mIRC, Chatzilla and Trillian). When I feel very lonely, I'll just enter the channel from all of them and start talking to myself.

I'm having trouble adding the channel to my favourites. I've added it about 3 times - but everytime I close IRC, it disappears, and I have to type everything in again. Any help?

Okay, an update from the technical side. I have upgraded NRServ and given him a new name. He's now called Brecht, named after an author of the "roaring twenties". Brecht hosts even more files now and there's only one trigger around.

It was a lot of work, but I hope it was well worth it. Enjoy!

How come? I could understand the problems with that insane MSN Java chat browser thingie we used before... but IRC?

You could use Chatzilla plugin for Firefox if your computer hates mIRC - do I remember right you use that browser?

I do use that browser! Whenever I try to log on to a server, no matter what server it won't connect. like at all.

Strange indeed. Are you sure you type the command and server's name well? That's the only possible solution I can come up with now... Because when you mistype the server name, your client still tries to establish the connection but to no avail... :|

All of you "I won't ever ever use IRC"-people, did you ever try to use the program or are you just going "Oh, no, this is too hard for me."? Just try it, and you have to do the really difficult stuff only once. And then you remember your five commands and that's it. Once you get used to it, it's like using Forum-code.
