ok, so 2003 was the year of the Matrix, 2005 year of the batman,

I think it'll be the similar in 2007, with the movie being released i think(me wishfull thinking) on some releases, of course its "realistic" wishfull thinking.

I think we will start the year with a nice 2003' turtles 1st season set. shortly after we will get old toon TMNT vol. 6 (counting vol. 4 released on april 06, and vol. 5 oct 06, also ending season 3)

then by summer we will have the new movie (and a new toy wave for the movie)! and with that TMNT Vol. 7, later in oct/nov the 07 movie comes out on dvd and we will also have vol. 8 of the old toon. now i think it could be possible that they would try to milk our money more so instead of having 12 episodes per disc they'll start having 10 episodes, though they'd keep their friendly price.

Also either when the new movie comes out either on theater or on dvd we will also see a re-release of the old movies (come on you know they'll cash in), they'll either go all out and have special edition (for all three movies) and a box set for them or they'll just re-release them almost barebones in a box set similar to the back to the future and upcoming Jurassic Park Adventure Pack. hopefully we will get the SE box set ;D I'm not sure how the single releases of the new toon are made but we would see those as well, maybe one more than we normally get. And not to count all the merchandise we will get because of the movie ;D

-this year we got 2 volumes of the old toon, if next year we get 3 and not 2 again then we could get 4 in 07
- not sure who owns it but i'm assuming Disney since they bought Saban, in an attempt to cash in they could release the complete series of The Next Mutation(hey this whole post is wishful thinking).
-who knows we might even get the second season of the new show at the end of 07 as well

I like it....infact love it....heck if it's not released sooner, we may even get the final Archie arc, "The Forever War." I'd like to see TMNT 2k3 season sets, but...does 4kids do that? I hope beyond hope for TMNT:SE even if it's just for the 1st movie. And Old Toon DVD releases would be awesome. Heck I'd even buy NT:TNM. Maybe we'll see Mirage graphic novels of canon issues. Maybe even GNs of the Image and Archie series....Year of the Turtle come quickly!

Heck I'd even buy NT:TNM.

That's something I'd definitely buy, too. Memories...

Hell, I'd buy TNM just to laugh at it.

BTW, Rob, your sig is udderly weird.

Good laugh is not bad.

Well thanks KROW. I even considered doing a digital mastectomy to that sig but then I thought that operation would ruin artist's astounding vision...

Speaking of the Archie series, I think it would be cool if they released the Archie series in Trades, or even in the minture graphic novel form like they do For Spider Girl, and Justice League Adventures and many Mangas.

Yeah, TMNT:SE, more OT sets, and "The Forever War" those are my most wanted, and I agree that NTNM would be baught just for cheap laughs, GN's for Mirage and Archie would be cool, but I wouldn't need to get em. :P

Yeah, I'd love new GN printings of the old stories. And, I do find "Manga size" much easier to deal with.

You know something else that would be really cool, is If they took a route of Hasbro and make all new sculpts of classic characters like Hasbro did with the "G.I.JOE Comic Three-Packs", maybe they could re-do at least the first series of figures the TMNT, Splinter, April, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, and Foot Soldier, or maybe do "Mirage Comic Packs" and have totally new Mirage-Esq figures. :o

we really do need a special edition of the movie, after reading deleted scenes from here that were originally in the theaters, stuff like behind the shell could be an extra and commentaries would be nice. but we really do need a better edition, for the longest time i thought i had a bad copy but i re-bought the dvd at another store and sometimes betweenchapters the transition is really bad, pretty sure it happens to everyone :/

btw i was rewatching it last night and there is this girl in the foot that looks a lot like a live action karai would. I've never really followed the comics but did she exist when the movie was made? i know its wishfull thinking of her being karai, but i can pretend right ;)

if anyone can get screengrabs of her would be nice too, you can actually see her on many of the teenage foot scene,

aaaaahhh, i had this huge post that took me a while to do and it got erased :x here we go again, only not as detailed:

I decided to bump this topic with all the hype on vol. 4, on how the other volumes could be handled, also YOtT is not that far away anymore!

so with vol. 5 we will probably see the next 12 episodes for season 3, then we will see Vol. 6, this is where it will start to get tricky, there are only 11 episodes left in season 3 so we will either see a 11 episode volume or a 12 episode volume with the first episode of season 4, I'm not sure which way i'd like more, i would like more 'uniform' seasons, but having an extra episode for probably the same price is also very good.

Season 4 is another long season, it can go two ways, in a uniform way, having three 13 episode volumes to have the complete set(Vol. 7,8,9), or if they want to continue with 12 episodes per disc we would have 2 episodes left over from season 4 (since vol. 6 would have been 12 instead of 11)

Season 5 has 22 episodes, so it could have a uniform release of two 11 episode volumes or also two episode volumes but with 12 episodes each if they decide to stick to the 12 episodes per disc like discussed earlier(since there would have been 2 episodes left over). either way they take it we finish season 5 in Vol. 10 and 11)

now i don't know which ones are the european vacation episodes i would like to have those episodes not split in different volumes, another reason why i'd like to have seasons together is that isn't the technodromes location the only continuity between episodes and it changes location in each season? In these later volumes because of how short they are its a mess, here is my try on them:

Season 6 has 16 episodes, we can have two vol. releases (12, 13) with 8 episodes each, or squeeze them with season 7 that has 27 episodes, in that case we would have the first 12 of season 6 on vol. 12, then volume 13 with the last 4 episodes of S6 and the first 8 of season 7, and then Vol. 14 with another 12 of season 7, leaving 7 episodes left over from season 7, or in the case of a uniform release two volumes of 13 episodes for S7 but we would still lack 1 more episode (i doubt they could fit 14 episodes Vol. 14 and 15)

Season, 8,9 and 10 are all 8 episodes each, (even though the first volume has 4 episodes(in no order i might add) of season 10 i think they will make us double dip and make us buy those episodes again. they could have uniform releases of only 8 episodes each (but hey at least better quality right?) and that would take Vol. 16,17 and 18 and we're done, of course if they follow the squeeze 12 episodes no matter what, we would have Vol. 15 have the last 7 episodes of S7 and the first 5 of S8 , Vol. 16 having the last 3 of 8 and the complete S9 and one of S10, leaving only 3 episodes not on dvd (in this case they would not double dip, and i'm sure they could squeeze 1 extra episode in any of the 16 volumes,

so yeah, hope that wasn't too confusing, n man, and we're only in vol. 4....
of course i would rather have box sets, but here were some speculation on how the volumes could be released, we have a lot of volumes left, we really need more than 2 per year! I hope we have another release on october like last year (instead of 1 vol. per year we got two) but hopefully we get more!, or we'll have the entire series once Blu-Ray and HDDVD are outdated ;D

And since i'm on a role, The next Mutation could be done in two ways, one "complete series" box set with all 26 episodes or two 13 episode 'seasons', (maybe with the PR crossover two parter as an extra),

Hopefully we get better cover art and while interviews with the cast would be amazing, just toy commercials would do as extras....different languages would also be nice, and none of those would be asking for too much...

i'm hoping to finally see trades of volume (with the re-done #8), hopefully all the ones that were done in color for the First collection again printed in full color.

trades of the new series would be great, while i already have all of them, volume four really lends itself better to a longer, graphic novel format. the first trade could end with splinter's funeral. that would be an awesome collection.

what I hope would happen is the 2 part OVA japanese turtle toon get released on american DVD by someone like ADVision or Tokyopop.

Tokyo Pop doesn't do anime anymore (thank heavens... Intial D and Rave Master's dubs were gosh awful stuff).

ADV getting the TMNT OVA seems unlikely.

Maybe Viz, 4kids or FUNimation directly (as they release the show for 4kids).

That'd be nice to get a dub of.

They could get almost if not all of the original cast of the 87 series to dub it or perhaps the 4kids crew. Or perhaps a mix of old cast with some new folks. I love Townsand Coleman's Mike but I think Robbie Rist's Mike from the movies is better and last I heard Barry Gordon isn't doing cartoons anymore so they could use Sam Regal of the new TMNT show for Donatello. They should be able to get Rob Pauslen (wont be cheap though) and Cam Clarke (he's still doing cartoons last time I checked). That'd be a nice mix of TMNT talent. 2 voices from the old show, 1 from the new and 1 from the original movies. And all 4 of those VAs are in LA right now I believe.

This year of the turtles idea excites my heart and imagination but makes my wallet cry.

I don't think the new movie is going to be a break-out success though so that could put a damper on things...

Hopefully the Lost Season will be a single set or maybe just two DVDs or something.

Well its 2007, I was going to bump this earlier this month stating how apparently 2007 didn't feel that much like "Year of the Turtles" then decided it was dumb,

but with all the recent announcements I actually do feel like the 'YotT" :D so i decided to bump it,

I think i made this thread shortly after the Volume 2 of the 87 toon came out and they released the first Teaser poster in 2005, my predictions or 'wishful thinking' didn't turn out so bad, which is great!

Sure there are quite a few differences but not many, we are getting S4 of the 87 toon, S1 of Fast Forward, S1 of the 2k3 show, tons of TMNT movie merch in bookstores, toy sections etc, gaming magazines talking about TMNT and the closer we get to the movie the more hype.

Hopefully this carries on toward the DVD release with S5 of the 87 show and Season 2 of the 2k3 show.

Sorry to bump this topic one last time but I was not that far off.

I thought the movie was going to be released in summer so that threw off my predictions a bit.

'87 Toon did indeed get speedier releases and my release table would have probably been correct except they changed to season sets which turned out much better (and we got 2 seasons on Year of the Turtle)

2k3 did indeed get season sets, and we essentially got(will get) two season sets this year one being the first and the other the current tv season.

TNM didn't get a release but we know how Disney is.. this was a big "maybe" even then.

Oddly the Movies didn't get a special edition which I expected it to be one of the few things that did happen..oh well maybe for the sequel ;) (though didnt korea get re-releases? that should count)

The movie failed to become this massive hype machine but I expected it to be starting turtlemania all over again but it didn't fail either, we got McDonalds, more toys, posters games etc. So its still been a nice YotT. We even got rid of FF and got a new redesign for the show. The Year isn't over yet of course either!

oh yeah a TMNT sequel would be the great now to tie YotT :D

It certainly has been the year of the Turtles for me.

A year ago the Turtles were a thing of the past for me. Something I had liked a lot back in my school years.

But with the movie being released- I became obsessed again. I bought the entire 2k3 toon. I watched the entire 1987 toon. I have gotten many Mirage key issues and will be obtaining the Archie ones as well.

That said, my wanting a pet turtle has little if anything to do with TMNT. In 1998 I remember dreaming about having a pet turtle and asking my mom for one- this was a year with very little Turtle activity, and I did NOT watch TNM. Last year when I got my mice, my mom's second guess about which pet I had gotten was "a turtle". Again- no TMNT for me last year. Baka legislators from my notorious state need to pick their battles and focus on the true smugglers damaging our environment instead of forbidding a harmless pet.

Yay for the Turtles!

I feel that if it came out in summer, it would have been eaten alive.

Warners does not know how to hype up a movie. They suck at it so badly. The film did get number one for it's opening week, but got slaughterd by Will Ferril mugging the camera and acting like a douche, and that Meet the Robinsons thing, which I was only going to see to p'o' the idiot adoption people who were protesting it.

The toys did extrememly well (so far) and the McD's promotion was unexpected.

So I'd say the movie did pretty good for itself, and should warrent a sequal.

It's been Year of Many Turtles for me.

Lots of cool Movie toys. The movie itself. Comicon meeting Kevin & others. And the best part, 5 baby turtles bred, hatched and being raised here.
News of dumping TMNTFF is good news; then excellent prospects of another TMNT movie. AND a sort of relaunch of the series.
Can't get any better.
Or maybe it can?

I gotta agree about WB, man they suck advertising TMNT. They pile in so much $$ into these bigger movies (that some are lamer) but practically ignore TMNT which has a long history of maybe what, going onto it's 3rd generation of fans? (my under 5 nephews love it)

ok, so 2003 was the year of the Matrix, 2005 year of the batman,
2007 Year of the Turtles Transformers etc ;) Anyways I do think 2012 will be a YotT for the most part, 2012 has a ton of huge films (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_in_film#2012) being released as I've stated before which is going to kill a lot of the turtlemania that may arise but it'll still make a big impact.

Anyways last time I made a few 'realistic' predictions and for the most part almost all of them happened, the only main thing is the new movie failed to bring back turtlemania or at least bring a lot of attention to the franchise which it failed to do. So I thought I'd make a few more 'realistic' predictions.

I do think Nick is going to bring the turtles back hard starting in 2012, we'll start seeing it next year but the full marketing muscle will be in 2012. I am pretty confident they are going to market the shell out of the turtles. The new movie will be PG-13 and marketed towards kids and older audiences like Transformers and will be released in the summer going head to head with all the big names. The new show is difficult to place, its seems the production of it is pretty ahead and would be in time for early 2012, the only thing that makes me think it won't come out until late 2012 is they bought the 2k3 show and are only going to begin airing it in 2011 and thats a lot of episodes for them to just get rid of it after 1 year but I'm still going to go with early 2012 for the new show.

Now besides that, I think we'll definitely see Lionsgate do something with the OT, we may all have complained how little attention they've given to their DVD releases but if theres one thing they've always taken advantage is of trying to cash-in with the other turtles events, whether its mimicing the 2k3 s how in their box art, releasing sets to coincide with the movie theatrical/dvd releases and even the 25th anniversary. So whether they just release the missing seasons or something more ambitious I think we'll see them releasing something (except the 3 skipped episodes ). We'll definitely have re-release on DVD/Blu-Ray of the movies even if barebones but this time I'm willing to bet will be 'special editions' we have all been waiting for. Playmates will definitely have toys a few months before the new show/movie actually air but thats not much of a prediction, they'll be pretty decent figures when compared to other current lines yet fans will complain, I also think they'll be 3 3/4" scale. Of course new videogames and tons of licensed crap to go along with it.

This was originally going to be a new thread but then I realize it was kinda stupid so why not just bump this thread and post my predictions here, which I now realize look like pretty safe predictions though I'm thinking I might be wrong on most of them since I haven't been on a roll lately ;)

Could a mod rename this topic "2012 Year of the Turtles" then? ;)

Anyway, the cinematic onslaught the Turtles will face in 2012 scared me somewhat. Hopefully Viacom/Paramount will begin rolling out teasers and building up hype over the course of next year so whenever the movie hits, people will be pumped about it.
