2007 Year of the Turtles

ok, so 2003 was the year of the Matrix, 2005 year of the batman,

I think it'll be the similar in 2007, with the movie being released i think(me wishfull thinking) on some releases, of course its "realistic" wishfull thinking.

I think we will start the year with a nice 2003' turtles 1st season set. shortly after we will get old toon TMNT vol. 6 (counting vol. 4 released on april 06, and vol. 5 oct 06, also ending season 3)

then by summer we will have the new movie (and a new toy wave for the movie)! and with that TMNT Vol. 7, later in oct/nov the 07 movie comes out on dvd and we will also have vol. 8 of the old toon. now i think it could be possible that they would try to milk our money more so instead of having 12 episodes per disc they'll start having 10 episodes, though they'd keep their friendly price.

Also either when the new movie comes out either on theater or on dvd we will also see a re-release of the old movies (come on you know they'll cash in), they'll either go all out and have special edition (for all three movies) and a box set for them or they'll just re-release them almost barebones in a box set similar to the back to the future and upcoming Jurassic Park Adventure Pack. hopefully we will get the SE box set ;D I'm not sure how the single releases of the new toon are made but we would see those as well, maybe one more than we normally get. And not to count all the merchandise we will get because of the movie ;D

-this year we got 2 volumes of the old toon, if next year we get 3 and not 2 again then we could get 4 in 07
- not sure who owns it but i'm assuming Disney since they bought Saban, in an attempt to cash in they could release the complete series of The Next Mutation(hey this whole post is wishful thinking).
-who knows we might even get the second season of the new show at the end of 07 as well

I like it....infact love it....heck if it's not released sooner, we may even get the final Archie arc, "The Forever War." I'd like to see TMNT 2k3 season sets, but...does 4kids do that? I hope beyond hope for TMNT:SE even if it's just for the 1st movie. And Old Toon DVD releases would be awesome. Heck I'd even buy NT:TNM. Maybe we'll see Mirage graphic novels of canon issues. Maybe even GNs of the Image and Archie series....Year of the Turtle come quickly!

Good laugh is not bad.

Well thanks KROW. I even considered doing a digital mastectomy to that sig but then I thought that operation would ruin artist's astounding vision...

Speaking of the Archie series, I think it would be cool if they released the Archie series in Trades, or even in the minture graphic novel form like they do For Spider Girl, and Justice League Adventures and many Mangas.

Yeah, TMNT:SE, more OT sets, and "The Forever War" those are my most wanted, and I agree that NTNM would be baught just for cheap laughs, GN's for Mirage and Archie would be cool, but I wouldn't need to get em.

Yeah, I'd love new GN printings of the old stories. And, I do find "Manga size" much easier to deal with.

You know something else that would be really cool, is If they took a route of Hasbro and make all new sculpts of classic characters like Hasbro did with the "G.I.JOE Comic Three-Packs", maybe they could re-do at least the first series of figures the TMNT, Splinter, April, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, and Foot Soldier, or maybe do "Mirage Comic Packs" and have totally new Mirage-Esq figures.

we really do need a special edition of the movie, after reading deleted scenes from here that were originally in the theaters, stuff like behind the shell could be an extra and commentaries would be nice. but we really do need a better edition, for the longest time i thought i had a bad copy but i re-bought the dvd at another store and sometimes betweenchapters the transition is really bad, pretty sure it happens to everyone :/

btw i was rewatching it last night and there is this girl in the foot that looks a lot like a live action karai would. I've never really followed the comics but did she exist when the movie was made? i know its wishfull thinking of her being karai, but i can pretend right

if anyone can get screengrabs of her would be nice too, you can actually see her on many of the teenage foot scene,

aaaaahhh, i had this huge post that took me a while to do and it got erased here we go again, only not as detailed:

I decided to bump this topic with all the hype on vol. 4, on how the other volumes could be handled, also YOtT is not that far away anymore!

so with vol. 5 we will probably see the next 12 episodes for season 3, then we will see Vol. 6, this is where it will start to get tricky, there are only 11 episodes left in season 3 so we will either see a 11 episode volume or a 12 episode volume with the first episode of season 4, I'm not sure which way i'd like more, i would like more 'uniform' seasons, but having an extra episode for probably the same price is also very good.

Season 4 is another long season, it can go two ways, in a uniform way, having three 13 episode volumes to have the complete set(Vol. 7,8,9), or if they want to continue with 12 episodes per disc we would have 2 episodes left over from season 4 (since vol. 6 would have been 12 instead of 11)

Season 5 has 22 episodes, so it could have a uniform release of two 11 episode volumes or also two episode volumes but with 12 episodes each if they decide to stick to the 12 episodes per disc like discussed earlier(since there would have been 2 episodes left over). either way they take it we finish season 5 in Vol. 10 and 11)

now i don't know which ones are the european vacation episodes i would like to have those episodes not split in different volumes, another reason why i'd like to have seasons together is that isn't the technodromes location the only continuity between episodes and it changes location in each season? In these later volumes because of how short they are its a mess, here is my try on them:

Season 6 has 16 episodes, we can have two vol. releases (12, 13) with 8 episodes each, or squeeze them with season 7 that has 27 episodes, in that case we would have the first 12 of season 6 on vol. 12, then volume 13 with the last 4 episodes of S6 and the first 8 of season 7, and then Vol. 14 with another 12 of season 7, leaving 7 episodes left over from season 7, or in the case of a uniform release two volumes of 13 episodes for S7 but we would still lack 1 more episode (i doubt they could fit 14 episodes Vol. 14 and 15)

Season, 8,9 and 10 are all 8 episodes each, (even though the first volume has 4 episodes(in no order i might add) of season 10 i think they will make us double dip and make us buy those episodes again. they could have uniform releases of only 8 episodes each (but hey at least better quality right?) and that would take Vol. 16,17 and 18 and we're done, of course if they follow the squeeze 12 episodes no matter what, we would have Vol. 15 have the last 7 episodes of S7 and the first 5 of S8 , Vol. 16 having the last 3 of 8 and the complete S9 and one of S10, leaving only 3 episodes not on dvd (in this case they would not double dip, and i'm sure they could squeeze 1 extra episode in any of the 16 volumes,

so yeah, hope that wasn't too confusing, n man, and we're only in vol. 4....
of course i would rather have box sets, but here were some speculation on how the volumes could be released, we have a lot of volumes left, we really need more than 2 per year! I hope we have another release on october like last year (instead of 1 vol. per year we got two) but hopefully we get more!, or we'll have the entire series once Blu-Ray and HDDVD are outdated ;D

And since i'm on a role, The next Mutation could be done in two ways, one "complete series" box set with all 26 episodes or two 13 episode 'seasons', (maybe with the PR crossover two parter as an extra),

Hopefully we get better cover art and while interviews with the cast would be amazing, just toy commercials would do as extras....different languages would also be nice, and none of those would be asking for too much...

i'm hoping to finally see trades of volume (with the re-done #, hopefully all the ones that were done in color for the First collection again printed in full color.

trades of the new series would be great, while i already have all of them, volume four really lends itself better to a longer, graphic novel format. the first trade could end with splinter's funeral. that would be an awesome collection.
