So lately I've seen those Mech Wreckers all over eBay, and not ONE of them is listed at it's retail price ($20). Hell weren't these things just on sale for like $15 around Black Friday? So why are people bidding up to $90 for these things on eBay?

I saw a Donatello Mech Wrecker listed at $90 opening price, and there was a bid on it :ohwell:

I mean if you're going to pay more than it's worth why not bid on the Mech Wrecker Donatello that was listed for $35 buy it now? I just don't get it, especially since these things are readily available at Wal-Mart at a discounted price.

Besides the fact that they're not even that cool, they're pretty boring/bland. I saw another one bid up to $25 with a few hours left. C'mon people just GO OUTSIDE. I guess sometimes it's not the sellers fault, but when the opening price is $90 for a $20 toy, that's just outrageous.

There's tons more, but I think you get the idea.

Actually maybe this will work, it's a search for finished mech wrekkers auctions, this way you can see them all without having to click each link:

I see that all the time, the only sane reason I can think of is that they're not available where the buyer lives. People who pay $65 extra for a figure are just stupid though, it's like they're blind and just click random links.

God there's so much stuff on eBay that p*sses me right off:

When there are two identical auctions ending within a few hours you see tons of people bidding for the first one but no one on the second one, even if it's a good lot cheaper. The first auction ends up at say $30 while the second one goes for less than half that price. Do people really need to win it that badly that they'll only bid on the auction closest to ending?

Sellers get totally greedy and try to charge you way over the odds for shipping. I've had sellers trying to charge me double for postage and then when I call them on it they backtrack and say they "miscalculated the weight". It's not that hard to weigh something, how stupid do they think I am.

People who put the price up needlessly annoy me too. There was an auction for Resident Evil 4 last night that I was really hoping to win (for cheap, of course;) ). The day before it ended it was at £7 and within five minutes had gone up to £16, 24 hours later was at £21 and finally ended at £23, making it £2 dearer than buy it now auctions. The bargain was destroyed by people bidding so much before the auction was even near closing.

I guess there really is a market for those 'eBay for Dummies' books.

Sorry bout the little rant, I just can't stand some people on eBay.

That 'lot' for for of them has 20$ shipping. *RAPHAEL (Red mask~typical children description of this product also know as the leader)

*DONATELLO (Purple mask~also known as the brains)

This toy is currently out of stock in stores and on all of the most popular retailer's sites. Bid on yours now, before it's too late!!!

JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS! LEONARDO IS VERY HARD TO FIND AND IS GETTING MORE RARE BY THE MOMENT ... UNLESS SANTA FINDS ME ANOTHER LEONARDO, THIS IS THE LAST ONE I HAVE TO LIST IN MY AUCTION, OTHER THAN THE TWO THAT ARE ALREADY THERE ... THIS IS A BELOVED NINJA TURTLE ... LEONARDO IS HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE AND IS A GREATLY TREASURED NINJA TURTLE.

I don't know how or why people fall for that. I guess they don't check the stores themselves, or are very gullable and just l;ook at the prices of the other auctions.

From my experiance with Transformers, the selers get greddy and egoistic and Power hunger. Because TMNT makes 1 billion dollors; these sellers just want to be greedy and sell for BAD prices cause they think the fans will pay it.

Sad to say they will be bullies too-but most sellers become "Unregistered" So once they use TMNT to lure you, they take your money and go.

HA-this one user was from Houston,Texas.Tried to play me ,I showed up at his house with my dad and a poilce officer. That kid nearly peed in his pants from the scare. I'm the LEAST likely girl to mess with.

You know, you realy can't blame the seller. I mean, if people are actually willing to pay these crazy prices then why not. And if you really think about it, the person who spends say $90 on a MECH must really think highly of it and value it that high. They are probably walking away happy, thinking they got a deal. Of course, we know better. But for their purposes, no one really gets hurt. Everyonoe gets what they want (except for those who get outbided).

Yeah, some of the prices are crazy... But if the seller can sell it at that, why wouldn't they? As for the selling price, it is totally the bidders faults.

I find more sellers than not try to rip me off on shipping. Of course they claim there are no "handling" charges but usually by the time I get it, the postage on it is like half of what I paid... And you know if you leave feedback on the subject, they will leave you negative and say you were difficult, slow to pay, etc.

I think there needs to be a small section for each sale that the seller cannot see where we rate their packaging, shipping costs, etc because I am getting fed up with $0.99 auctions costing me $30 to ship!

Exactly...theres no feeling worse than buying something on there and paying MORE for the shipping than for the item itself. Especially for something you KNOW shouldn't cost that much to ship.

These seller are just greedy and want in on that money the TMNT make. Which is pretty patheic IMO.

well with that method of thinking you should be IRRATE with playmates . if you knew what the cost was to produce a single toy , and then knew the mark up to retail you would throw yourself out a window. remember this people .... supply and demand, selling things for an expanded profit is the american way.

Ebay sellers have to pat to put up auctions even if they lose. They must pay for the listing and the pictures. So I don't see why they would jack up the prices.

Exactly.....if you have an item that retails for $10 but will sell on ebay for $60why WOULDN"T you sell it for the higher price. If people didnt pay the $60, it would drop to a more reasonable price: they have to sell their item afterall. So really, you should be mad at the dumb/lazy buyer who by buying high, raises the price for all of us.

It is the buyers fault for the increased prices... I mean, if you are willing to pay it, then why wouldn't they sell it at that?

But shipping and other things they have control over... Now that's where they get me...

Was just about to say the same thing. I just bought a Gamecube game and the seller tried to charge me an extra £5 for postage, thinking that I wouldn't realise the general postage rate from looking at other auctions for the same item from England.

This is why the majority of the Mechs and and Mystic Turtles, both Mikeys too, have been on my Christmas list. I already know for a fact that I got Winking Mikey for Christmas. I wouldn't, however, pay $90 for that!

Raph the leader?! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?! *Dies Laughing* Oh, well... What stupid people don't know won't hurt me.
