Fast foward is terrible. I mean I tried to enjoy it but it was just not as good as 2k3 series.
Also I am thinking of buying the fast foward dvd becuase I never even seen the first episode. I only seen a couple of the last few.

I hated it initially, but bought the volume one DVD and after giving it half a chance, it's not bad. It way not be on the level of 2k3, but there are far worse action cartoons out there.

I really, really don't like it. ANd I went into the thing with a lot of optimism that I would love it, and I came out of it feeling very disillusioned. I'm sorry other may like it but FF just isn't doing it for me, and I feel rather cheated as a TMNT fan.

as you can see the fans are split over this one lol:lol:
Me when I first saw it I thought it was ok simply because we finally got something differnt than angry leonardo every episode, them fighting shredder every episode, or fighting karai every episode.
But after finally getting to see everything since buying the dvd it's become one of my favorite tmnt even if it isn't the best I really like the characters allot and find the humor that was missing in the 2k3 series now to be there atleast a little more anways.
I used to deffend it all the time because of it simply being a tmnt show but I no longer care what anyone else thinks I like it and I'm not here to change anyones opinions on anyone or anything. :D

Yeha, and FF's one of them. There is nothing, NOTHING, redeemable about this, it's as generic and as badly written as Camp Lazlo and Fosters. It does'nt take advantage of anything. It's "comfort food" television. I don't know what Laird was thinking when he approved the lighter touches, they could have made this Batman Beyond or Phantom 2040, and they pulled a "Smurfs: Lost In Time", or a "Incredible Hulk and She-Hulk", and the entire first season of the 1990's Fantastic Four. In contrast to what shows are doing now, The Batman, KND, Jake Long (don't like it, but it has had some seriously compelling story arcs at times), and other shows that TMNT spearheaded in it's earlier seasons, it is, objectivly, a huge step back.
It's embarassing to see fans stand up to this really, I just think there lowering their tastes, and when the series gets back to the levels it used to be, if ever, they'll admit that watching FF was just out of sheer fan loyalty.

Even if theis wasn't connected to the 2K3 series, I would still hate this show.
The animation is horrid and the style and tone make it worse, the characters have lost all the maturity they've gained, and Cody and Serling are terribley remniscent of the annoying sidekicks of the 1980's.

I don't hate it. I like some of the new villians. Not crazy about the bright colors and I think it could be a lot better . Aside from that the show isn't that bad. I still wouldn't go out of my way to watch it. I only do that with shows I genuinely enjoy, like the 2K3 version.

I've only seen one episode, so I'm not gonna vote, but based on that one episode it seemed okay… no where near as good as it was. Honestly, though, every show is bound to fall off eventually if it sticks around long enough and I'd rather have something like this that is separate from the original and doesn't taint it's legendary greatness.

thanks for pretty much summing up my thoughts on the whole FF thing. Its not so much that FF sucks (although it pretty much does in my opinion) its the fact that they took a well written, mature good quality show and turned it into a cookie-cutter saturday cartoon. I haven't liked an American cartoon as much as this one since Mighty Max and Gargoyals and I'm not happy that its been watered down.

Yeah, I've stated my opinion on this many times, but in leui of me typing this over and over again, I'll just say...
I agree with Zarius. Every single thing he says about FF.
...until he starts liking it, or something.
I would go into my trademark rant on how much it has deteriated, but I'm like Jo and not going to bother. Zarius has everything down on this one. Basically, if they had a better story line and artwork, I would be a bit happier. Then if they throw those bad jokes out, that part of my soul that was taken away when I saw Fast Forward might return...

I persoanly wouldn't mind FF if it was temporary and if it was done in the same way as the previuos seasons of of the orginal 2k3 series (as well as the orginal 2k3 animation style). And if They incorporated some of volume four stroy line into it.

you're really gonna have to learn some day zarius to take you're own advice and see that not everyone likes the same things.
I also find it insulting that you would say that about fans. How about you sticking up for Lawson all the time and acting childish and stooping to the level of calling people names because of it?
There is a difference between having an opinion and being down right disrespectful of others minds. You Sir take the cake and smoosh it all over peoples faces.
My entire family sits an watches fosters together btw & the kids love it.
You know kids shows can be fun because these shows are for kids in the first place not us the older fans or you forgeting the 80's turtle cartoon we all love so much which is silly and wacky more than anything.
And nope I actully do like the show believe what you want to because I know you will anyways.
But I actully do like the ideas yes the could have been done better but the basic concepts of evil tmnt is something that should have been done years ago.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 4.8, so I'm not going to give it a simple yes or no. And, that's an average rating for the entire >>> run so far.

This is my opinion exactly. I still watch FF and think it's better than 90% of the other stuff on TV. But you don't mess with near perfection and turn it into something sub-par. I did enjoy the Turtle Titan ep though, it's the only one I consider so far to be on par with some of the stuff from 2K3. I'm also a little scared to admit I mostly liked the Raph wrestling ep too. But 2 out of 13 is not a good record.

Batman Beyond was Batman Beyond because the Batman series they were making at the time was so insanely popular that the network approved a new Batman series over one meeting and let the creators run with it.
TMNT has had **** ratings since season 3 and season 4 helped the rating decline even more by further pushing the envelope. Problem is kids didn't realize how much they liked the old series until they made the switch to FF. I've talked to a few friends younger siblings who have told me they miss the 2K3 series and wish it would go back. Kids don't dig FF anymore but there's nothing laird can do.
It's happy and lame because 4Kids wanted it that way. You can tell it wasn't written that way, just watch the episodes and tell me you don't see the dark undertones? It's there and it has potential but Laird isn't allowed to let loose on it like he did on the 2K3 series. I mean the old toon had more figth scenes in it then FF. And the fight scenes in FF feel very "Implied" where you hear what happening but most of the time it's showing two people dialogging while the fight is happening around them. He's on a short lease and there's nothing he can do about it unless he finds another network to air his show. Which won't be happening anytime soon since he's contract bound to 4Kids.

The only FF fight I liked so far was the one on the boat in the ep where the video games were stolen I think. That had some nice moves and animation. But that's the only stand out fight so far in my mind, because just as it finally looks like we're going to get a good fight, Cody show up in his stupid battlesuit to save the day. I wish the TMNT could have a fight with the villains once again without Cody busting in and ruining it.

Boy, was I wrong or what?
I sat through the first episode (which took A LOT of effort to do), and then I never looked back (except to watch "The Journal" out of desperation of hopefully seeing good TMNT again...it wasn't much of an improvement to the rest of FF).
It's trash.

The change from 2K3 to FF has been pretty jarring, but it's not because it has the turtles in the future.
Look at the basic premise for FF as compared to the Ninja Tribunal season. The turtles being trained by mystical ninjas in Japan and summoning their own mystical powers to fight an ancient demon vs. going into the future. If I only had this to go on I'd say the Ninja Tribunal arc was further into the jump the shark category. Of course, for those who have seen both, the Ninja Tribunal arc is hands down better.
Why? There are a few reasons. The first of which is that the turtles are kept in character. Making the turtles act OOC for the sake of some laughs is not cool. Introducing several lifeless comic relief characters, see: Serling, that other British sounding robot, Biggles? And my biggest problem is just the abundance of missed opportunities. Fast Forward could have been good. Several of the characters have potential for good storylines, but they've been bogged down by repeated attempts to appeal to the younger crowd. There is definitely some potential with characters like the Inuwashi Gunjin and Viral. I was hoping for something good with the Dark turtles, but they're just another bunch of bumbling villains.
All I really need to say about the Ninja Tribunal arc is that it really isn't different. It's a very different setting, but it's still the same turtles both in character and in quality.
It's not that change is necessarily bad, but with FF, most of the changes have been for the worse. That being said, I have been watching FF and I will continue to do so. I can tell the writers are trying to please the fans while working under greater pressure from 4kids to do things their way. Still, it's not quite enough. It's not all bad, but it could and should be so much better than it is.

Although I still consider Fast Forward to be the sixth season of TMNT, it's so radically different that it's practically more of a spin-off than a new season. I do enjoy Fast Forward...to a certain extent. I do like the goofiness of it at times. However, I don't like the animation all too well. And I especially don't like the 'It's Ninja Time!' screamed 3 times an episode. With this being the same crew that did 2k3, I can't believe they couldn't make it at least somewhat on part with 2k3.
2k3 was an amazing cartoon. Up there with Batman: The Animated Series as a Saturday Morning Cartoon that pushed the envelope. It's a shame that 4kids had to take that away from us. I really think they might be regretting it. With 'Membership Drive' set to air next Saturday, I think they might be re-testing the waters with the original 2k3 design to see if people will latch back onto it again. However, I don't expect them to switch back, since that would make them look like fools. If anything, they'll just stay with the Fast Forward concept until they feel it's time for the Turtles to end on TV. Which, will be a sad day indeed. At least we got 5 great seasons before they decided to **** it up.

Well, I for one am not picky about whether the TMNT are faithful to the comics or not. I can appreciate TMNT as both light-hearted AND dark-hearted, campy and not campy. As Thai Fighter said, a true TMNT fan should appreciate TMNT no matter what. Yes, I like the old cartoon, red sky included. Yes, I like the live-action movies, all 3 of them (#3 included). And yes I like the new cartoon, and YES, fast forward as well. I'm open to variety, and I believe other TMNT fans should be the same way. But still, to each his own, and I respect that.
I mean... 12 people LIKE this??
Yes, Jo. But 21 people hate it. That's a 9 person difference, almost on the edge of 10.
Now we just have to calm down. Don't let a cartoon divide us. Remember the old saying - "Together we stand, divided we fall." Try not to get carried away here. People like the show, people hate the show, so what? I don't go around strangling the next person I see saying that they like Fast Forward. It all comes back to your personal opinion.
...I was one of the few people who defended it LONG before it started airing. I figured: "It sounds iffy, but there's NO WAY it could suck. It's got the same crew working on it that's been working on it this whole time, it'll be great!"
Boy, was I wrong or what?
The same thing with me. I kept defending it, even though it sounded stranger and stranger as the premier came closer and closer. When I finally managed to watch it, I felt really sick. "THAT was what I was defending? THAT?! That's not TMNT! That's some guys from 4Kids posing as them!" I really felt sick and dirty after watching it. I had to watch a total of 3 cartoons and 2 episodes of M*A*S*H for that feeling to leave me. It's just horrible from my point of view, yet to someone they don't mind it. Like I said before, it's all coming back to your personal opinion.

With ass backwards mentality like that, no wonder The Simpsons has'nt been cancelled. So you're saying a true TMNT should BLIND themselves to how bad a series, objectivly, is to them?
F*ck that, it just gives the idiots who will watch all versions an elitist excuse to demean everyone who does'nt agree with them. REAL fans honour TMNT whenever a series based either loosely or directly on it lives up to it's strengths. The original had the comic's humour slightly tweked and heart at best, the new series had the comic's darker influence and heart completly. FF has NONE of that

Yeah, the whole "everyone should always like every incarnation of TMNT to be a true fan" is bull. What if some genius producer decided to completely switch around their personalities, change Splinter into a hamster, and make them a rock'n'roll band? Would I be a bad fan for rejecting that?
While FF isn't quite that extreme a case, I think they took almost everything about what made the Turtles fun and awesome and chucked them out the window. You can have a good show without as much darkness or violence (see: '80s toon) but I think they really dropped the ball here. I only made it through 3 episodes before losing all my motivation to wake up for it Saturday mornings. I'm sure it's made some progress since, but I'm content to watch the 2k3 DVDs I have and wait for season 1a to come out, after I'm done enjoying the movie. Might watch FF eventually, but I really don't have the urge. :/

HELLO, I said at the end of my post: "But still to each his own, and I respect that." I'm not f***ing demeaning anybody. I'm not forcing anybody to agree with me. I'm simply suggesting that TMNT fans try to appreciate every incarnation for what it is, whether they actually do so or not is their choice. I just happen to appreciate Fast Forward for what it is and believe it adds variety to the TMNT universe. I know not everyone else thinks the same way, but that's everyone else's concern. What if some genius producer decided to completely switch around their personalities, change Splinter into a hamster, and make them a rock'n'roll band? Would I be a bad fan for rejecting that?
That would never happen, never! Bad example.
Fast Foward is great in every aspect, so until anyone can point out something bad about Fast Forward then you are all just a bunch of posers. TMNT FF is different from the previous seasons but it still is fun to watch. But what do I know? I just like to watch the Ninja Turtles beat up the bad guys and save the day.

Pretty sure the fake fan Thai is just trolling the forums guys. We get these ignorant noobs all the time whenever the franchise gets a boost (in this case, the movie)
Yeah I think that you do have to like everything about TMNT to be a hardcore fan. Cause if you don't then your not really a hardcore fan, your just a fan of a certain series in the TMNT Trilogy.
...okay, let me get this straight - if we don't like ALL of the things that are TMNT related, we aren't fans? So we MUST love the bad porno fanfics out there, along with the Next Mutation, Fast Forward, and the third movie? I'm sorry, but if you are saying we must love those things, you are saying that pretty much everyone in the Technodrome (that's 805 active members) are NOT true fans?
I'm sorry, but I just can't accept that. There are some people out there who don't really like the new cartoon, but are die-hard fans of the old cartoon. You just need to accept that not liking all aspects of a fandom doesn't make you a traitor or a disgrace to the world of the said fandom. If you still can't accept that, I suggest you try and not force us to like something that we just can not accept. Why? I don't know, maybe we are old farts who can't change their ways. But I know that I gave Fast Forward a very fair chance and it still disappointed me. Don't say I'm not a true fan.

Nope, can't agree with that. You can't MAKE yourself love everything. You can have some sort of appreciation for it, possibly. But to say that if you don't love everything, absolutely everything about something that you're not a hardcore fan? Bollocks.

Loving something blindly betrays a franchise's quality to people in charge of supervising it's ongoing continuation. If so many people said they liked how childish FF is, we'd never see an attempt at sophisticated seasons again
In short, not only are you an idiot, you're not a real fan of TMNT at all.

So, we don't have to like the Next Mutation, but we MUST love Fast Forward? Sheesh, you are get digging a hole for yourself. I have said it once and I will say it again - you don't have to love Fast Forward to be a fan. You might throw a tantrum and cry about how you love it while us older fans don't, but we are not going to change our minds any time soon.
What about the fans who actually gave it a chance? I have tried to accept it 3 times already, and the result has always been the same after each episode - I felt sick, and I had to watch about two and a half hours of things like M*A*S*H and Futurama in order to get rid of the said sick feeling. I could give it another chance if I wanted to, but after the first three times, I know that the result is going to be the same anyway.
Bottom line? Don't tell us what we can or can not like. We are not your minions that will bend to your will. Your word is not law, and your version of a true fan is not the true version of a true fan. We gave it a chance, we were disappointed greatly, and we want our guys to return home. Got it?

Dammit! I was watching the ending of Fast Forward, and they threw in this "Which you like better, Fast Forward or Old 2k3 toon".
I was hoping they would have a poll to find out, but they were just advertising that they were going to show 2k3 toon and FF back to back.
Did you notice that both the FF and the Lost episodes had Mikey as the center piece.
Also, in case I was up or in a zone, they didn't have Raph in this particular Lost Episode, did they. Jeeze, the new movie gives you a ton of Raph in his best light, and we hunger for more of him when we turn on the channel the next morning, and he's completely absent from the episode. A Mikey episode without the presence of Raph. That's different, and dissappointing for me.
But the beginning of Fast Forward was kind of neat (I cant believe I said that) but it was cool when they had Donny figure out a plan, and all three Turtles come together to initiate it.:)

Those comments are just extremely childish and harsh. And this is coming from someone who is pretty much classified as a kid herself. Zaruis has a strong belief about the cartoon, as does everyone else here. Besides, he has a point there. If we love Fast Forward (or claim we do) as it throws a strong continuing plot line out the window, it is more than likely that it won't come back. All we will have left of the 2k3 cartoon will be our DVDs, memories, and all of the crap left behind called "Fast Forward".
And please, for the sake of all remaining sanity in me and the rest of the people on these forums, don't call anyone on these forums childish names again. Besides, "Emo" is such an over-rated word nowadays without anyone using it in everyday conversation.

More than happy to, Jo.
I really do wish that we could make our own version of Fast Forward. As I mentioned in another thread, before I heard that it was going to be bright and cheerful, I had this image of a very grim future in mind. Not like Don's SAINW future, but something that was going down a similar road in terms of pollution, control, and that sense of all hope is lost. I guess with that image firmly in place, it really did effect how I thought of Fast Forward when I saw the first episode. Such a strong contrast to what I had envisioned. :ohwell:

All I can say about Fast Forward is it is what it is.... for some its CRAP for others its a way to keep the TV franchise alive in hopes of getting back 2k3. I haven't watched Fast Forward since the first episode because I don't know what time it comes on anymore cause they keep changing the times on me and its frustrating

I will be completely honest.....I hate Fast Forward! I grew up with the Ninja Turtles (until I got X-Men fever in 1994) but I was never a fan of the original cartoon because there was not enough serious fighting in it. I lost interest by about season two. Then in 2003 I was flipping through channels and saw that a new Turtle series was coming up next so I decided to watch it. THAT was what I had always wanted to see with the original series! I was hooked and religiously watched every episode until (to my horror) they took off the good show in exchange for the cheesy FF stuff. I cannot even begin to fathom how it was allowed to happen. If I wanted to watch animated Star Wars, I would watch animated Star Wars. I could only stand watching 3 full episodes before I decided that this show was no longer for me. I am truly hoping that they will bring back the original TMNT cartoon from 2003. That was the best cartoon Fox has had on since X-Men and Spider-Man stopped being aired. But as long as they are playing FF then I won't be watching.
Jack

And I just hate "It's Ninja Time" it just bugs me.... seriously I can only tolerate it if Mikey says it... once, also I don't like Serling all that much
My favorite episode must be "Milk Run" maybe because it hints at another plot line? And Space Usagi might be appearing in future episodes! So that'll keep me interested.... as long as the 3 headed wrestler disappears.
And I do not like the FF theme.... sorry:-? :-?

According to tortugapower, Usagi will not make an appearance because FF has been put on hault. :(
Fast Forward is done. One of the partners in the shows production has decided to not go ahead with the planned new episodes that would have comprised the next season, I will not say who or why for now.
So for the moment there will be no Space Usagi showing up, let alone any of the other things that were planned, which I will not reveal here.
So what happens to the show? It's not canceled, the show will likely be re-developed, your guess is as good as mine as to what the result may be... but either way production will not resume until sometime later this year.
So it's not the end of the world - but it may come as bad news for some.

We still may see Space Usagi however, they might just adapt whatever story they were planning for him into the present time.
Although it is a shame, since Space Usagi works much better in the Fast Forward timeline than in the present. They should have done it earlier.
