Well, its been released for about 24 hours and already theres already 3 different bootlegs floating the internet. 2 of them are actually real good quality.

This just upsets me since I know easy it is to get these, and how many people dont even go see movies in the theater cuz all they have to do is wait about 3 days before a "good enough" copy if it is all over the net.

I just hope the movie does really, really well cuz its a great movie that deserves to be seen in theaters.

This happens to all movies though. It is a shame but people will gladly accept anything for free if they want it. I think people will look pass the bootlegs though and experience it in the cinema if they are keen enough. It deserves to be that way. Do you think most of the public would really want to see 300 with grainy footage and poor sound quality? where is the fun in that?

I swear some movies need metal detectors just to get into. I can understand people ripping a DVD or something but come on sneaking camera's in that's just cheap.

Oh well, life goes on. We did our part and went to the theater.

You'd better put these images down, Juggalo. They contain the site's address and bootlegs' proper names. That would make it much easier for some people to track them down.

This is a response to the high ticket prices of a movie theater. You are better off waiting for the dvd than to go see the movie, especially with the lower priced high def tvs. Theaters are not long for this world, unless some changes are made...imax for example.

What the hell are you talking about?:x The movie experience is WAY better than the small screen of a computer or TV. You need the huge screen to feel the impact of the scenes so much better in the theater.

Don't listen to this joker. You're cutting yourself short if you limit yourself if you don't treat yourself to the movie experience. At least see it once. It's just seven bucks, and besides -- you should do all you can to help TMNT get to 100mil in the domestic boxoffice. This movie's worth a good DVD release and a sequel.

High prices? For me it was only $7.50 to go see the movie.

Unless your a person who wants to see every movie that comes into the theater I don't see that as expensive.

One of my students mentioned that HE would get the bootleg this weekend (this on Thursday, when I was reminding them I would be absent Friday, and when others said that they actually had plans to see the film on Saturday)-- I shut him and others down right away--

"Do NOT bring it to school! Do not even TALK about bootlegs around me! I do NOT want to know what goes on in your family-- what you do at home is private-- but to ME bootlegs are stealing, and if you bring me one, I will give it to the police, though I will NOT say where I got it from." And more lectures like that.

Anyway, I'm sure it's already being sold in the laundry mats and other gathering places of South Central-- and tomorrow, at the Swap Meets, it will be available for 5 to 7 dollars a pop-- but I want the MOVIE to make money, not anyone who simply wishes to leech off of the hard work of others.

Did you tell them why specifically, TMNT needs to make money, and why it is at unlucky risk of not making enough money? This isn't just some POTC blockbuster that everyone will know will rock. This is something that people aren't sure of. TMNT's success depends critically on how well it does at the box office.

Someone should upload a bunch of random other movies on these sites using the proper download names to make the actual bootlegs of TMNT that much harder to find. Pirates will get tired of trial and nothing but error, and they may decide to break down and brave the sun burning their skin off so they can buy a ticket at its lowest rate, the cheap-anus bastards... That'll show 'em.

When the first Harry Potter came out my English teacher whom had us reading the book at the time actually said who ever could get him a bootleg would get a A for the semester. If I had a computer at the time I'm sure I would have probably been tempted since it was my senior year and I needed the class to graduate. I'll only look at bootlegs of movies I think look like crap but I want to give a chance like HULK, Resident Evil Nemesis.

Seems the movie maybe doing very good since today is the most people I ever saw in a theater at Flint Showcase Cinema East which hardly ever has anyone in the theater. I usually always see a movie the day after the release like today and usually there is only about 20 people in the show while today when I counted there was 63 in the auditorium. I swear I don't know how the theater makes money with the little show ups they receive. Great Movie and best thing is I only had to pay $4.00 each for me and my brother. Weird since matinee shows usually cost $5.50. :)

I loved the movie so much I had decided to run a special promo on my site for the turtles.

See, those are examples of over pricing admission for theatres. You get maybe a fraction of the content you get on dvd, yet still pay half the price before the dvd comes out.

I paid 6.50(was in Raleigh) for mine and it was 13 bucks for me and my friend. Im not complaining too much, but, any other day i want i can also go to see the same movie, opening night, for 4.50 for a matinee or 6.00 for a night showing. And i can also go to a drive-in theatre(yes their still around lol) with a much larger screen and only pay 5 bucks for 3 movies.

Seriously. I want a $4 movie ticket.

It costs $8.25 at theaters around here for an evening movie; $5.75 for a matinee. While this movie is worth spending every penny of it, it can get very expensive very fast if you want to see it more than one time. And have you seen the price of popcorn and soda lately? :teek: Insane.

I've seen it twice now; the first time my friend paid for my ticket because she owed me some money. A large popcorn and soda was shared between us and two others that went with us. Tonight I went for the second time, and spent over $15 for a ticket, small popcorn, and bottled water. :tdead:

I'm not one to go to the movies often anyway. It'll be a year or more that I'll step into a theater. If I see something I think I want to see, I just wait for it to come on out DVD. TMNT, however, is completely different. I want to see it in the theater as much as I can possibly afford to.

What were you all expecting ? Its free, so no doubt alot of kids are gonna want to have this movie for free, and they will be able to see it again and again. With a great quality. on their computers or tv. With friends and all...

Alot of people are not thinking this movie is worth being seen in theaters for $7... Others might just don't want anyone to know that they love TMNT. And others might just be pure pirates just downloading everything they can, not caring about anything, as its free and easy to obtain.

The price of the ticket is of little importance really, it doesn't matter if you have to pay 5 or 7 bucks for something, if you can have it for free, you will of course be tempted... It will affect TMNT's final B.O., but it won't cost us a sequel, as it will still make enough money to pay the production cost of the movie + the production cost of a sequel (that would approx. mean a final domestic B.O. of $90 million, my personnal estimation...)

To clarify, at least on where I stand, I would not be tempted in the slightest to get this for free. I want quality, so I'm willing to pay for it. Whether it be a movie, game, etc. I detest bootlegs, and it actually makes me very irate that people would be so dishonest.

I'm only saying it can be expensive for people that have tight wallets and are living on strict budgets. I would love to see this every weekend until the DVD comes out, but I have more important things that $15 needs to go towards other than a movie. A beautiful, impressive movie, but still a movie. It's considered a luxury for me. I'll manage a third time next weekend after I get paid again. As far as this weekend goes, I think I've done my part well. :)

I don't go to the movies very often, so the money for the tickets didn't bug me. Plus I was able to get mine for $5.50 through the university, while I would have had to pay $8 at the ticket office of the theater itself. I'd even go again, in spite of expecting this summer to be one of my busiest movie summers yet.

I really want this to do well, though. One of the friends I saw it with last night called me earlier today and said that she'd gone to see it again, to take two of the mentally handicapped people she works with. :)

Hahaha, this is cute!

I felt the same way last night about some brat that kept yelling "I LIKE THE BLUE ONE! WHERE'S THE BLUE ONE MOMMY? OH, THERE'S THE BLUE ONE. I LIKE HIM BEST. GO BLUE GO!" My first movie going experience for this movie was a bit better than the second. First time I went to the 10:00pm one. Mostly adults. The second, I want to the 4:30 one, mostly kids. I'll never do that again.

I can't believe people will spoil things for themselves by being so cheap and downloading the movie from some pirate. Sure, you're getting it free, but you're not getting that in your face feeling, with the what, 25,000 watt surround system around you? Yes, movie tickets are expensive. I blame over paid actors and uncle sam wanting a piece of the action for the cause of this. But if it's something you really wanna see, quit being a cheap scape and just go watch the thing.

Next movie on my list, (watch me get flamed) is Transformers. I might go see Spiderman, but I was never a fan to begin with. Just doesn't interest me.

Now if it wasn't for bootlegs, I'd have to wait for another month to finally see it. This, of course, doesn't really mix well with me being impatient as hell and having to moderate this section while not liking to be spoiled.

Just because I got me a bootleg doesn't mean I won't go see it at the pictures or buy the DVD. In fact, I plan on doing both. This was merely to see the stuff I've read during the past few days, not to cheat anyone. I do the same thing when I'm not sure on whether to buy a DVD. Get me a bootleg, watch it, delete it and then either buy the DVD or not. It's like watching stuff on telly and then buying the DVD. 'course, I don't really want to see bootlegs as being used to cheat the industry, but sadly they are. But hey, what can you do?

I have to disagree about the experience being better in a theater. I really just hate the place. These days, 80% of the time, I run into people being annoying in the theaters. I never give a damn about popcorn or anything else. I just go to the movies so I can give it my full attention and enjoy it (a little hard with idiots being there). I only eat after I seen the movies a few times. Even then I'm probably eating at home instead of having to pay for their over priced crap.

At home on DVD, I can really enjoy it and not have to deal with all the crap. Besides, so what if the screen isn't as big. It's better than having to deal with people with annoying hair or getting up and down on the chairs. My home theater system's pretty nice too so I get good sound.

Still I went to see TMNT in the theaters to support the movie.

I have no idea where to find them. They had a couple of yells a couple of days ago, then they became reclusive. I have heard rumours of them being hermits in the mountains of Wakanda, meditating and debating the morals of pirating movies that are unTMNT vs. the ones that are TMNT. Is one okay while the other isn't? Can Splinter really be a mean drunk because of the pirated flicks on Youtube?

Those are warriors of justice and unhypocrisy! They're also very invisible, as I notice.

I don't know if this would be considered illegal or not, but I noticed on yuorube there are a couple of videos of the full Leo/Raph fight.

I know it's just one clip, but should this be reported?

No, don't report that one. I find it to be a guilty pleasure for me in between showings!:P

Personally, I think if WB showed this particular clip on tv, it might entise people to go check it out on the big screen. I know Star Wars did this with all the prequels.

So now some piracy is okay when it's eyecandy... that's about as unhypocritical as it gets.

Peachy.

When it's a clip, it's no different than watching a commercial.

If it was the whole movie, then yes, it's piracy.

:looks at her pitchfork gathering dust in the corner:

Aww man, I dunno...

Argh. It's not the whole movie....

But it is the best part of the movie, which may be even worse...

Oh what to do, what to do... *paces back & forth*

This isn't as clear-cut as someone uploading an entire movie that is HASN'T EVEN BEEN OUT FOR A WEEK in theaters.

On the one hand, yeah, the clip could spoil the surprise. On the other hand... it might make people who see it think, "WOW is the rest of the movie going to be like this???" Then they'll either download a bootleg of TMNT or they may actually go to the theaters.

But then again, that scene was pretty much the highlight of the movie.

It's tough. I'd almost leave it, because some of us who have seen the movie may want to see that scene again... and again... and again. But then... some people may ONLY be interested in seeing the fight and nothing else. Just do what you think is right.:ohwell:

Agreed. A commercial highlighting the buildup for that fight would have been great.

Yes maybe it's a little hypocritical to permit this clip. Considering it was not in a commercial or trailer, and only could come from a rip of the movie. But this is but 1 scene in the movie and it's a guilty pleasure.

I wouldn't care if it was removed, but I also don't mind that it exists.

First you complain that we're too loud. Now you complain that we're too quiet. What do you want, my Lord? We're doing our business quietly so that you don't freak out and wet your pants -- which you mock us for doing, speaking of hypocrisy. As of yet, I personally haven't found any more uploads of the whole movie on YouTube -- that's where we're unanimous that some action must be taken.

So piracy is okay, while piracy is not okay? Great logic there. And no matter how long a post you can whip up to tell me I'm wrong, it comes down to you having flaws in your own logic.

Anyways, stealth ninja task force against piracy is nice and all, but where can the regular, visible Joe contact you elusive lot? Just incase Joe finds something you might have missed. Make an E-Mail adress or something, write it in a new thread and tadaah, there you go. You know, have a "Contact the stealth ninja piracy task force"-helpdesk, so everyone can help.

Anarky, would you like a side of context with that rant?

One clip? Whoop-tie doo... Seemed like you could see half the movie from the clips on IGN, anyway.

The whole movie? Well, of course it needs to be removed. We want a sequel and we want it to be good. That means the movie actually has to make money! I just hope that whoever downloads bootlegs has already seen the movie or will go see it.

I'm not trying to convince YOU Anarky. Hell will freeze over, world hunger and poverty will be conquered, and all wars will end before I convince you of anything -- besides me being wrong and you being the enlightened Buddha on all matters.

As for random Joe finding anything, he could just PM the people who have been making such a ruckus -- we were condemned, so don't be surprised that we're suddenly quieter. Besides, making such a thread providing info will do no good (UNLESS any of you Mods are willing to sticky it -- but somehow I doubt you would).

Several days may pass before someone uploads the entire movie again onto YouTube -- if it ever happens again. By then, the thread with the info will be on the third page of archives along with the first two threads -- out of sight and out of mind.

I thought that it went without saying that once you have your stealth ninja piracy task force (I love that term, sorry) set up, you'll let yourselves be known in one form of another. And since we at the Drome are against piracy as well, are willing to help wherever we can. And stickying a thread is nothing.

So: Stealth Ninja Piracy Task Force, you're on Go! Just don't post links in public places.

Alright, I dragged (and paid) for my roommate and my boyfriend and a visiting friend to see the movie ($36.00... they loved it so it was worth it) then I went again on Saturday night which was another $8.50 or so.

Around Monday night I missed it already and I can't get back to the theater any time soon and I'm broke now. So I bittorrented that pirated version floating around. Then I burt it to a DVD disc and played it on the TV downstairs. The roommate I took to the movie walks by while I was replying the Raph/Leo battle for about the 10th time and says something to the effect of "Uh, that's interesting..." with a particular look on her face. Then she asked me where I got such a good quality version of it.

That being said the bootleg that is drifting around the internet is actually not very high quality. There is a odd red tinge to it. My roommate and I think it was done as an inside job... as in someone who works at the theater made it. The audio goes out of sync badly in three places, but luckily goes back into sync afterwards.

I don't feel guilty about watching a bootleg version, only because I do plan to buy the DVD when it comes out and I've seen it in theaters twice and took all my friends. But I do think that anyone who only watches it on bootleg is a very VERY sad individual. Do all that you can to go see it in the theater, it is more than worth it. Go by yourself, there is nothing wrong with that. I went to Brokeback Mountain by myself because no one wanted to see it with me. It was no different than having friends by your side because ideally you'll be watching the movie, not talking to them anyway.

I don't see why everyone thinks that the Raph/Leo fight scene was the highlight of the movie.... it was way too short. It needed to last another 2 to 5 minutes to be able to earn the right to "best" or "highlight" titles, at least for me. The scene at the end was the real highlight, at least you got 12 minutes of fighting, without going off camera or hiding the hits.

I'm really hoping "WHEN" there is a sequal, they take that to heart and add more/longer/shown fight scenes. The lack of, is my biggest gripe about the whole movie.

I hate fights that tends to last forever, ''a la star wars''. Its just plain ridiculous.

I never had to fight more than maybe a minute or 2 at max !

A real fight is not lasting too long ya know. As soon as there's a mistake made by one of the 2....

So I'm quite happy of the fight, it was realistic, not as intense as I would liked it to be, but still pretty realistic.

Hmm, I agree yet disagree.

Very true that fights hardly last long. Any decent fight (real or TV/Video-Game) is nothing more then a series of stalemates, wearing each other down... and then a quick and decisive finish.

But I have to disagree, sometimes a longer fight is good. It shows balance and the attempt at different tactics as things fail. That it's not always about that one special attack that makes the opponent look easy.

Each fight, Leo vs Nightwatcher, and Leo vs Raph - only took a minute, 60 seconds.. The nightwatcher fight felt short, and yet somehow the Raph fight felt good.

Some of us don't live in America. Some of us don't want to see the movie dubbed to Swedish. Some of us have to dust off and raise the ol' Jolly Roger flag to even see the movie in its original language (and the thought of seeing it in Swedish makes some of us want to throw up).
I would've loved to see the movie in the theatre. I was totally looking forward to it. Had been looking forward to it since long before the movie was even announced. But stupid f**king Weinstein don't know thing one about international distribution, so they put the film in the hands of Nordisk Film, who ofcourse assume that only little kids who can't speak English or even read subtitles will want to see the movie, so they dub it to Swedish and don't even bother showing the original version as an alternative.

I f**king wanted to pay for this movie. I wanted to see it on a big screen. I didn't choose to be born here.

I'm definitely buying the DVD when it comes out, though.
But I don't have a projector, so that's an experience I'll never have. Stupid f**king Weinstein. Stupid f**king Nordisk Film.

Yeah. I'm bitter.

"Some of us" could have flown to London with some low-cost carrier to watch the movie on a big screen there... just like some European Dromers already did.

Some of us already did that with a certain movie in 2005, and some of us are poor and can't afford doing so again, and some of us live so far from an airport with "cheap" flights to London that the trip to the airport alone would be not only very tricky for some of us who don't have driver's licenses but also more expensive than the flight.

I'm sorry, the Theater experience is awesome. Plus, anyone who has seen TMNT on the Big Screen knows that was how it was designed to be seen. The detail that went into this movie would be lost to anyone watching it at home. Especially a crappy bootleg version. DVD's are great for chick flics and the like. But this movie is a large screen styled film like Star Wars. You are missing out big time if you only watch this flick at home.

Plus, if you call yourself a Turtles Fan you should be supporting this film. Especially since this may be the last chance we get to even see a Turtles film in Theaters.

I'm not going to support dubbing, because I'm against it. Especially when they don't even show the original as an alternative. I will, however, support the movie by buying the DVD. That, you have my word on.
