Hey I don't know if anyone's seen this but it's kind of cool. It's a CGI short made by a company called Icepond. It kind of reminds me of the Digital Rim pilot.

Check it out here:

I know I should be talking about this in the fanfic forum, but this thread just reminded me:

The current fanfic I'm writing, I've had visions of a movie...maybe a fan-created movie. You know how these Star Wars geeks have made fan-movies before? Well, maybe we TMNT fans could do the same once the idea becomes popular again, or maybe just keep it amongst us if it doesn't. Yeah, it would be uber-cool if those fanfics were made into amateur movies. We're not going for total perfection here, just the idea!

About this clip in particular, I'm guessing this is what the finished CGI series would've been like if it hadn't been scrapped...the animation and graphic quality, I mean.

So yeah, it was, how you say, TOTALLY RAD, DUDES!

Hey Reznorite, I didn't realize you were from SA. I'm in Austin, nice to meet another Texan.

Heh, well the only problem would be fans getting ahold of expensive custom foam suits^_^ And yeah, Ive seen some of those fan made Star Wars films, some of em actually arent half bad...a lot though: crickets and tumbleweeds^_^

And yeah, I hope 'rad' comes back...always thought that expression sounded cooler than 'Hella sick dude!'.

As for the cgi clip...interesting...I was really offput by that one cgi intro a couple years back, but this was entertaining. would be interesting to see what that John Woo company cgi film would have looked like.

I had big hopes for that project too. Too bad nothing came of it.

Ooh, I know! We could do a film where we never get a clear shot of the turtles. Voices overs, sounds effects, cool shadows! *sweatdrop* It's just a suggestion. *goes back to her fan fics*

As for the clip, is that the one with Raph and the mousers? Yeah, I saw that one weeks ago. Pretty cool.

That's what the New TMNT series on FOX box could have looked like... But the TMNT in CGI does look cool, I hope that it will happen someday.

actually, i think that independent one shown above is a lot better than the ones at the official tmnt site........

Yeah the first CGI clips was made by rainbow studios[I think] This is made by Icepond. The page says they did it for 4kids and Mirage so I guess they were testing how the new cartoon should lool like.

And yes I to think that this looks better than the other CGI clip.

yeah, a lot better.

probably because its almost pure mirage...

Ok, that was pretty awesome. :tcool: Funny thing, though -- the way the mousers clicked thier... beaks, I guess... reminded me of the scutters on Red Dwarf.

I wish I had the talent to make something like that... Almost makes me want to go into CGI instead of web development. Maybe I can do both. :D

Ehhhh... that was alright, I didn't like the way Raph looked though, I liked the CGI pilot version more, remember that it wasn't fully rendered at all though

I haven't watched the cgi pilot yet -- I plan on doin' that today, though.

LOL...hehe Not a bad idea actually you got there! But ooh! Its nice to hear folks on hear do fan fics. Has anyone ever tired their hand at a TMNT doujinshi/fan comic? Now that would rock if done right!

As for the cgi, looked like some of the late 80's cgi Ive seen(the good kind) Im more enamored with what Square has done(FInal Fantasy, ANimatrix short: Flight of the Osirus) Now that would look crazy good to do a TMNT film in that style. Heck the cgi intro to the new Japanese Ghost in the Shell stand alone complex tv show is a great example of action cgi.

I know one meaning for the word doujinshi. I hope you don't mean what I think you do...

Excellent movie idea!!! They could just be little green sticks but you never see them so everyone assumes they are cooler looking than they actually are!!! :P

Hey, guys, what's the name of that song? I remember hearing it all the time during band trips in HS, but I can't remember what it's called or who performs it.

Heh, sure ya dont mean 'hentai'?(anime/manga porn)
Naw, 'doujinshi' is the commonly referred to Japanese word for fan comic. Its huge in Japan due to their less than tight copyright laws on such manner...such is why you get a lot of very nice, professional yet fan made comics of everything from Neon Genesis Evangelion to Metal Gear Solid.
Anyways, itd be cool to see if anyone on here has done or collaborated on a fan comic.

Heh, quite a few people on here on fan fics. HT, Azure, Kameko, etc., etc. What is the TMNT fan fic count up to now? Have we hit 700, yet? :D

I'm trying my hand at drawing comics, but the best I've done so far is a couple one-page things. I know Amandatello's planning a TMNT/Gargoyles crossover graphic story. And there was "Revenge" over at UnderManhattan but I can't seem to find it again.

Yeah... The amount of TMNT fanfiction has sky-rocketed lately. :embarass:

Hmm... I've seen several TMNT one page comic shorts and some comic strips, but I don't think anyone's ever attempted making an entire fan comic. There was going to be a round robin comic book that Miss Mab tried organizing, but she's disappeared from the fandom several months ago. :(

OOOH! A consortium anthology would rock! Ive seen a number of American and International effort fan comic doujinshi's at anime cons where the whole thing is made up of 2-8 page short comics, with severla pinups. I think that would really rock!

Definately would be neat to see some of those fan fics put to illustration!
Hmmm, I'll have to make a thread about this^_^

Here's an awesome example of a one page comic short featuring Raphael and a popular Marvel character (I'm sure almost everyone will recognize him ;)):

This was done by Match and his Lioness. It's absolutely jaw-dropping.
