Turtle CGI Short in Here!

Hey I don't know if anyone's seen this but it's kind of cool. It's a CGI short made by a company called Icepond. It kind of reminds me of the Digital Rim pilot.

Check it out here:

I don't know. I just happened to find it on the Peter David online journal feedback.

I know I should be talking about this in the fanfic forum, but this thread just reminded me:

The current fanfic I'm writing, I've had visions of a movie...maybe a fan-created movie. You know how these Star Wars geeks have made fan-movies before? Well, maybe we TMNT fans could do the same once the idea becomes popular again, or maybe just keep it amongst us if it doesn't. Yeah, it would be uber-cool if those fanfics were made into amateur movies. We're not going for total perfection here, just the idea!

About this clip in particular, I'm guessing this is what the finished CGI series would've been like if it hadn't been scrapped...the animation and graphic quality, I mean.

So yeah, it was, how you say, TOTALLY RAD, DUDES!

Heh, well the only problem would be fans getting ahold of expensive custom foam suits^_^ And yeah, Ive seen some of those fan made Star Wars films, some of em actually arent half bad...a lot though: crickets and tumbleweeds^_^

And yeah, I hope 'rad' comes back...always thought that expression sounded cooler than 'Hella sick dude!'.

As for the cgi clip...interesting...I was really offput by that one cgi intro a couple years back, but this was entertaining. would be interesting to see what that John Woo company cgi film would have looked like.

Ooh, I know! We could do a film where we never get a clear shot of the turtles. Voices overs, sounds effects, cool shadows! *sweatdrop* It's just a suggestion. *goes back to her fan fics*

As for the clip, is that the one with Raph and the mousers? Yeah, I saw that one weeks ago. Pretty cool.

That's what the New TMNT series on FOX box could have looked like... But the TMNT in CGI does look cool, I hope that it will happen someday.

Yeah the first CGI clips was made by rainbow studios[I think] This is made by Icepond. The page says they did it for 4kids and Mirage so I guess they were testing how the new cartoon should lool like.

And yes I to think that this looks better than the other CGI clip.

Ok, that was pretty awesome. Funny thing, though -- the way the mousers clicked thier... beaks, I guess... reminded me of the scutters on Red Dwarf.

I wish I had the talent to make something like that... Almost makes me want to go into CGI instead of web development. Maybe I can do both.

Ehhhh... that was alright, I didn't like the way Raph looked though, I liked the CGI pilot version more, remember that it wasn't fully rendered at all though

LOL...hehe Not a bad idea actually you got there! But ooh! Its nice to hear folks on hear do fan fics. Has anyone ever tired their hand at a TMNT doujinshi/fan comic? Now that would rock if done right!

As for the cgi, looked like some of the late 80's cgi Ive seen(the good kind) Im more enamored with what Square has done(FInal Fantasy, ANimatrix short: Flight of the Osirus) Now that would look crazy good to do a TMNT film in that style. Heck the cgi intro to the new Japanese Ghost in the Shell stand alone complex tv show is a great example of action cgi.

I know one meaning for the word doujinshi. I hope you don't mean what I think you do...
