What the turtles sleep in

In the 2k3 series does any one know what the turtles sleep in? I can't recall off the top of my head but I don't think any of the turtles actually has a bed in their rooms. I don't think I even recall them having a bed matress eighther. There is one episode in particular that i'm thinks of "what A Croc" and it shows Raphael sleping in a hamock and Mikey sleeping under with nothing under neath him but the floor. So does any one know if they are ever shown having beds?

No joke! Take off your pads and bandanas! That is so bizzare. Like sleeping in your clothes. I suppose some people may do that but I sleep in nothing. Wearing clothes to bed is so uncomfortable. I remember in the OT they took off their bandanas to sleep but still wore their pads. :lol: Silly turtles.

I assume the boys built their own beds (Or Don built them all). The lair was built by that ancient underground civilization and for some reason I can't see them building a wooden loft. My reasoning is a bit silly... "I just can't see them using wood." But hey, it's just my opinion.

Maybe they don't sleep without their gear cause they feel they always need to be prepared, or the animators don't want to go to the trouble ...lol
In the Don episode with Kirby Raph comes out of the shower asking Don to go fix it and he has nothing on but a towel which I thought was very funny

I think the animators are just being lazy. They are just 5 males living alone. They just need to worry about comfort. They don't need to have their equivalent of clothes on all the time.

I can imagine Splinter sleeps in a futon. Or in one of those rollaway beds like the ones Japanese characters in a lot of anime (like Rurouni Kenshin) sleep in.

Why would Raphael pick a hammock rather than a bed, I do not know. Wouldn't he end up with a backache?

I sure love it when they sleep, which is why I asked for this on Deviantart http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/56006942/. As for Raphael, well he seems fine with the hammock, but he could still sleep on a futon; that's what they all slept on at the Ninja Tribunal. As for the bandanas, well, it's not like wearing a heavy sweater you just wore the whole day to bed; that's really no big deal. Though i do think their elbow and knee pads would be slightly uncomfortable. By the way, how can they possibly sleep on their backs, I mean with their shells and all, 'cause it looks like they do at times, and that would be very harmful to their necks?

I swear I didn't make this up. One time on the 4kids website or something, I found a really detailed interactive page where you could go in each of the Turtles' bedrooms. If I remember correctly, the bedrooms went, from left to right, Leo, Mike, Raph, Don. I thought it was really cool that Mikey played the drums.

The scenes are cute. ;-) In the OT, the turtles did sleep with their gear on except for the first season. During that season, they sleep with pads and belt, but not the bandannas.

My guess for his hammock is comfort, a sling would support his shell body better than a flat bed which really would only allow him to sleep on his front.

Hehe -maybe Splinter was being a supportive parent, you know trying to encourage his kids to be creative and express themselves by 'acquiring' musical instruments for them. (don't ask me where he would get them though!)

Raph's room looks SCARY. Not just badarse. Scary. Anger issues indeed. I think they overdid it to be honest. I do not think Splinter would let him get away with so many weapons that border on torture devices.

Mikey's room looks exactly like what I would expect it to be. The jukebox is cool. Looks probably most like that of a regular teenage boy. How did he manage to get a bowling alley and so many other goodies inside, I do not know. Definitely the largest one.

Donnie's is cool. Gotta love the pic of April. Though all 4 Turtles had a thing for her, Donnie has the hottest hots of all. Also liked the aquarium and the terrarium. Very in-character.

Leo's...well, they call him Splinter Jr. for a reason. And he's my fave for a reason as well- he has a lot of books! Yay for the bike.

And regarding Splinter's, it looks a bit like a bonsai garden. I was wondering where had the Ying Yang symbol gone.

Only two of them have pizza in them, hehe. Yes, the two that Splinter yells at the most and with good reason. Coolest IMHO was Donatello's, with Leo's books, Raph's jungle gym, and Mikey's jukebox.

Donnie's room looks bigger than Mikey's to me. I wish Leo's bed made it into the shot of his room. Despite that, his looks most bedroom-like to me, everyone else has too much going on in their rooms. Splinter's isn't busy, either, but feels more like a meditation room than anything else. Other than those thoughts, I spent time trying to read Danish. :lol:

I think the artists did it just to mimic the comic that it was based off of. I thought it was creative on their part.

I think it's easy to tell them apart in the new cartoon without their gear on. I have taken two semesters of German, so I was able to understand some of it. I could also tell that it was Danish and not Norwegian or Swedish- even without seeing the suffix.

You hit and kick it, and the branches move so you have to dodge or hit it, as it comes in a circle from the other side - best reference would be to tell you to see a certain episode. Raph uses it, but I can't remember which ep at the moment.

what has always bugged me out is the fact that the turtles (in both universes) sleep with their weapons strapped to their bodies :o. Is it just a ninja thing to ssleep with your weapon or are the turtles just paranloid? I mean that can't be comfertable, and I can't see how you could even get away with sleeping with two bulky katana blades straped to your back or a long bo staff. Or Raph sleeping with both of his sias still strapped to his belt. I mean he has two pointy weapons on him. What if he rolled over the wrong way and he peiced his thigh, or...his groin :o

But then again, their shells may be what provides them that protection from their weapons and big pillows can be their neck protection when they're on their backs. I do not recall them actually sleeping with their weapons on. In the episode where they stay at April's place, and the one at Casey's grandma's house, they certainly do not have their weapons on. The one where they are in the lair, I cannot see the weapons either.

Yeah, I'd think they'd sleep on their plastrons mostly and any back sleeping would be most comfortable in a hammock. Raph's got that right. Otherwise they'd need a honking pillow to hold their heads up and probably a rolled blanket or body pillow to keep themselves put. Anyhow. I also don't believe they can have much in the way of backpain as their spines would have to be fused to their shells. Possibly extreme lower or neck pain if anything. But certainly, life as a mutant turtle CANNOT be comfortable. My 2¢ :)

I think the most comfortable position would be sleeping on your side with a firm pillow under your head and another one between your legs. At least that's how I sleep. The pillow between your legs helps with proper spine alignment. I cannot sleep comfortably without one to be honest.

Actually, when they stayed at April's place, I distinctly remember Raph still sleeping with his weapons, and Mikey was too. I think they do sleep with their weapons to be prepared for an attack, though I think it would be a little too uncomfortable.

realistically I think only Mikey and Raph can sleep with their weapons on since their weapons are small enough to wear on the body unlike Don and Leo (although I swear in the old toon Leonardo has been shown to sleep with his blades on his back :o)

I naturally assume that they sleep at night and are up during the day, but they seem to be up and about and getting into trouble at night. So I would assume that since the only time they can go top side is at night that they would sleep during the day when they can't be seen.

I think they sleep at night and are awake during the day. This is mainly because Splinter seems to be quite diurnal- even though most rats tend to be nocturnal or crepuscular. It seems to me that Splinter is a morning person like Leo and would not be very coherent late at night.

i bet they keep a nocturnal based "day"...sleep during the day, up at night. They can't be expected to be up 6am after going to bed say 12am after a night out kicking butts. Unhealthy and the lack of sleep can seriously screw up your brain. Ninja or not, their minds need a good 8 hours of sleep.

I can't believe that Raph and Don stayed up all night playing a video game that was so invigorating that they where thowing chairs around and over turned the couch, and he didn't hear a thing. :-? Or at least yelled at them to eighther keep it down or go their butts in bed.
It was probably a form of training/punishment to make them train while exhuasted because they should have just gone to bed

that is only because Splinter didn't know that the turtles hadn't been to bed yet and thought they had just got up. Which makes wonder about two things: why did the turtles act so horrified that Splinter thought they had just gotten up and wanted to train? Couldn't they have just explained to Splinter that they hadn't gone to bed yet and where still tired? I mean speak up boys, I mean whats the worse Splinter is going to do if you tell him you hadn't been to bad yet? Yell at you?

I wish we could have seen the Turtles' rooms more. I agree that Mikey playing the drums onscreen would have been annoying (unless he's good, but I don't think they would bother to find a sound clip of a good drummer). Still it's pretty cool that he has them.

That's how it was said, give or take a few words.

In an episode of the old toon, they woke up at 7AM. Or should I say, Leonardo woke up perkily and tried to wake up his brothers- but they threw pillows at him because they did not want to get out of bed.

I wish one of the turtles had spoken up too, but I think they where afraid to admit that they where dicking around instead sleeping like Splinter told them to do. Either way I think the out come would have been same even if they had stood up to him and he would have made them stay up and train and probably had made their training extra vigorous and tiring if they had admited that they hadn't even gone to bed yet as punishment:o

I agree with Scandia that this seems like way to few hours to sleep. With the turtles life styles I would think they would require more sleep than than just five and half hours of sleep! :o

In regards to the small amount of hours, I think it's reasonable. Some people only need that man hours. We're not dealing with true turtles, but domesticated turtles if you will. The 12 to 6 roughly doesn't bother me at all.
