The street gang

What happened to the street gang where Bebop and Rocksteady once where members in the 1987 TMNT cartoon? Some gang members were never mutated, and they left Shredder and appeared in later episodes ("The Gang's All Here"). But som members were mutated (seen in the "Shredder & Splintered"). Were those who were mutated seen in later episodes? Or where they probably abandoned in Dimension X and threwn out of the Technodrome when the Technodrome went to Dimension X?

Interesting question, I really wonder why the were caged up in ep. 5.... I don't remember seeing them in any later episodes so I'm assuming they got ditched in Dimension X

Nah, they formed a family band and tour the world in a mini van, learning life lessons and solving the occasional international crisis.

Maybe Shredder and Krang didn't need them, re-mutated them to humans and sent them back to Earth when the Technodrome had been sent to Dimension X.

I don't think Shredder and Krang would be considerate enough to take the time to de-mutate them and send them home. I picture a much more unpleasant fate for them. Stranded in Dimension X or executed when they proved useless. Something along those lines.

There is no way they got executed, just look at Bebop and Rocksteady they never got killed, and they ruined Shredder...

My guess is some were put to work taking care of the Technodrome, and maybe others de-mutated and sent back to Earth as local contacts.

Or maybe sent back to Earth without mutation. Like the Turtles, humams would fear them and they would hide to live in the sewers or something. Could be an interesting fanfic?

Eh, they were most likely kicked out and stranded somewhere in Dimension X. After all, the gang members we saw in 'The gang's all here' and any other episode that had the 'supposed' Bebop and Rocksteady's 'old' gang didn't look anything like the ones we saw in the first 5 episodes. I sure as hell don't remember seeing Jersey Red there.

Which brings me to my next question. Why is it they were so hellbent on offing Baxter when Bebop and Rocksteady screwed up far more often and never once had their lives seriously threatened?

In one episode shredder demutates one of them (he looked a bit like wingnut) to show off his cool demutating weapon.

I don't recall the others being mutated but i can't remember 'their story' exactly anyways.
In some later episodes they are seen caged inside the technodrome? And then disappeared?

Both this is "Shredder & Splintered", before the Technodrome goes to Dimension X. Maybe the re-mutated one left the Technodrome then.

And why trying to kill Baxter Stockman? Probably because he was a threat to Krang and Shredder. Bebop and Rocksteady was never that, even if they had eft Krang and Shredder.

Krang had no use for Baxter's brainpower. Bebop and Rocksteady had muscle even if it hadn't been used proparly since Season 1. They were probably good for heavy lifting around the Technodrome and Krang didn't send them to Earth out of some twisted sense of humor seeing Shredder scrable around.

Then there's always the fact everyoneloved them and only the comic readers had the slightest clue who Baxter was.

And yet in 'Return of the Fly', Shredder tried to recruit Baxterfly with them, convincing Krang that 'he's the brightest mind since Einstein, and with him at their side, the world is their oyster'.

It's like... make up your mind Shred-head.

well... Baxter was frozen in a big block of ice so he couldn't hear it anyway.

Basically the guys froze some resevioir or something, so Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady and block-of-ice Baxter were all sent thrashing to the Technodrome along with several chunks of ice. Krang complains about their usual failures, but Shredder says it's not a total loss, since they got Baxter. And like I said, Shredder tries to convince Krang that recruiting Baxter is a good idea, despite the fact that both of them were so quick to dispose of him without a second thought 2 seasons ago. Baxter busts out of the ice cube, threatens everyone in the room and flies off.

Shredder convinced Krang that Baxter was smart (still) in order to trick Baxter? O_o Sounds more like sloppy writing to me (one of the many things that disgusted me about most of the third season). While I find something inherently appealing about (all but the first) Fly-Guy Baxter eps, I believe this is in reference to the scene at the end where Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, and th Baxter fly-cicle fell through the tunnel all the way to the Earth's core :roll: without Baxter melting at all :roll: :roll:, and Shredder talked him up to Krang while he was still frozen. Even if it was just in case Baxter could still hear them while frozen, that was just too weak.

No.... Shredder was trying to recruit Baxter with them again, despite the fact he could hear them or not. Krang didn't think it was a good idea and Shredder was trying to convince him that it was a good idea. Baxter busted out and wanted no part of it and left.

I'm just saying, Shredder trying to get Baxter back with them again, as well as trying to convince Krang that they need his smarts contradicts how fast both of them wanted to kill him off in season 2.

Sidenote: This episode also contains one of the very psychic moments of the ot, the ending sequence of baxter stranded in that weird dimension with the part of his computer slowly fading away can still manage to frighten me.
I can't really say why, but that scene with the music, the voice of the computer fading away and the well-drawn zooming at baxters face is just psycho

Another weird dimension? Where did he end up? Where there some dangerous animals there, like the spide in "Bye Bye Fly"? I don't remember.

well the only thing I remember was the computer saying 'don't worry Baxter... you still have me...' and all Baxter basically had was like, a talking microchip.

Maybe it depends on which portal it is. Krang's and Donatello's portals brings you directly from one place to another. In Enter: the Fly, Baxter Stockman said the one who came between the two Electrode Posts would be sent a microsecond into the future. He got there. In the "Ninja Sword of Nowhere", there was an asteroid belt where you could live and breath without any space suit, just like the asteroid belts in Dimension X. Or maybe it is somewhere in Dimension X.
