the episode divide and conquer was the final episode. what did anyone think of it? It kind of had a good send off. I liked how in the end of the that episode is how Splinter told the Turtles he is no longer their mentor and have learned everything from him. I hated how it was popcorn that went kaput.
I loved how they had original bad guy remains: Krang's android and the technodrome. it was good to see his android body in this for the first time since Shredder Triumphant. I hated how Shredder and Krang were not in it. they should have been in it somehow. I mean it was the last episode and their longtime enemies were not in the last episode., I guess Turtle Trek served as the Turtles final battle with Shredder and Krang and Shredder and KRang were just part of the guest cast after that as they appeared in the 3 parter. Shredder and KRang got sent back to dimension X (watch closley as Shredder and Krang get blown on the been and when the turtles transport dregg while on the beam you hear Shredder yell I wont go back). they should have had them in there somehow. I LOVED HOW THEY HAD THE OLD MECHANIZED SOUND OF THE TECHNODROME WHEN IT APPEARED, there was an eerrie sound added to it though. I loved how the Technodrome was shown destroyed and wrecked on the hill, the inside was all wrecked and moldy, it probably got on the hill because the plant creature threw it in the air. the inside was wrecked and aliens inhabited it. But Shredder and KRang left it. WHY DIDNT They have like rock soilders or Foot Soilders or whatever instead of those aliens. they even had a krang android look alike. Notice this: Donatello tells Mikey that they dont know if the Technodrome portal has enough power to get them back. I loved how the sense of continuty was of the Turtles saying they destryoed the Technodrome.
mung's fate was never shown really.
I noticed one goof: April saying what on earth is that when the Turtles use Krang's android as she had seen it many times!!!!
we dont know what happened to dregg as he was thrown through the portal attached to Krang's android. he was just screaming no and Mikey said it was going to explode any second.
so no shredder and krang and even bebop and rocksteady.
was it intended to be the last episode? I mean the series was far gone by that point. good to show us the technodrome as a wrecked shell.
its on youtube

It was meant to be the last episode, they pretty much knew the show was ending at that point. I thought Shredder/Krang already got a nice "last hurrah" with their 3-part return in the middle of Season 10.
Yeah, I really liked the return to the Technodrome and the use of Krang's Android body. It felt like a nice throwback to how long the show has been going on, and how the Technodrome, the "invicible war machine" from Season 1 was now totally destroyed.
The original cartoon did have a pretty good ending, I can't think of any loose ends that weren't tied up, aside from if Carter was ever able to cure his mutation, but that's better left open ended.

I dunno, the last story-arc with dregg might had a pretty good ending,
but all of the major villains from the time before where totally unsolved.
What about Bebop/Rocksteady and Baxter just to name a few. And even though the technodrome got a good smash in 'turtle trek' it didn't seem more destroyed then back when it crashed into that big starship thingie. And krang still had his army of rock soldiers.
All the bad guys vanished, but with little to no explanation.

maybe the bad guys had had enough (But krang said to shredder in power of three that fool dregg has given us another chance to destroy the turtles and take over where we left off). krang even yelled curse the day I ever met those miserable turtles.
What are other people's comments on this episode. IT seemed just as about destroyed as it did in Big blow out / plan 6 from outer space. But the inside of the technodrome and outside looked wrecked in Divide and conquered. bebop and rocksteady's fate was just unknown. maybe shredder and krang ditched them.
still I wish they had past villians in the ruined technodrome than those aliens. the technodrome was just a wasteland.
baxter was the biggest unresolved one by far.
how did you like Divide and conquer?

I think it was a very good ending. It was conclusive of the major plotlines while at the same time leaving room for future fanfiction. TMNT is not the tightest story ever written- so there can be plenty of Tales-style additions.
Another little plot hole I noticed- they went to get Krang's android body. But Krang and company were not shown dying or fleeing the Technodrome in Dimension X. While it is unlikely that they would have tried to come back to Earth, the Turtles had no way to know that Krang and Shredder and Bebop and Rocksteady would NOT be lurking near the Technodrome and be a potential threat to them.
But otherwise, it was a fantastic conclusion to an awesome toon that is still one of my favorites and one of the best I have seen in both style and substance.

The biggest plothole is that krangs android body magically moved from earth to dimension x.
In the last episode before red sky ('shredder triumphant'?) krang was seen to drive off with the others on a old pickup inside his android body. In the next episode ('get shredder') he's in his bubble walker. And in 'divide and conquer' the body somehow ended up in the technodrome in dimension x. Eh?
I still liked that episode though. :p

I agree about how it was in the technodrome.
but I still wish that shredder and Krang were in the last episode.
WAS SEASon 11 even planned and what could they do with Shredder, Krang adn dregg defeated and Splinter saying he is no longer their mentor.

Rat King was Arrested at the end of the episode Wrath of The Rat King.
Well they didn't show it but the turtles mention him going away for a long time.

Shredder and KRang should have been in it somehow! how did those monsters get in the technodrome and I wish it was rock and foot solders and Shredder Krang and bebop and Rocksteady. notice it was green in some parts of the inside of the technodrome.

my point is the finale could have had more like having Shredder and KRang and old villians in the Technodrome. But I loved it having old Bad guy remains like the Android Body and the severly destroyed Technodrome.
and I am happy the series did have a finale! and it gave us an IDea that dregg may have died as the Android body was attached to dregg when it would explode soon and where did the body land? and no pizza in the finale but it had popcorn.

OT rule number one: logic will get you no-where.
Another plothole that I mentioned in my own thread was they never cured Leonardo's advanced mutation completely according to dregg in "the beginning of the end" episode. I know they thought they did, but dregg said he permanetly altered it, and the show never mentioned it again after that. That drove me nuts for days trying to figure out whether the turtles completely fixed him, but I finally told myself it was a cartoon, and to get over it. lol

I dig how you think. :tthumbsu:

I wasn't a big fan of the episode. Though it was rather ironic that they had to use a device made by Shredder to defeat Dregg. Though it was kind of inconclusive since you don't really see Dregg. He goes through the portal and you hear the body explode... that doesn't necessarily mean he died. Though of course they couldn't show that since it was a kid's cartoon but it also left the possibility of season 11. I remember hearing that the reason there was no reason 11 was not because of bad ratings but merely because CBS wanted to start making their Saturday mornings more educational.

I always found it amusing how many times in Season 8 Splinter or someone else was like we might see them (the guest character[s]) again yet not a single one came back. Though I guess you do get to see Landor and Meritt in Season 10 after their season 9 appearance but meh.

I don't think Dregg was destroyed when he got pushed into Dimension X with Krang's body. At the end of the previous episode (the Day the Earth Disappeared), Dregg's ship exploded like a supernova and got sucked in the black hole. If Dregg can survive that, he should be able to survive the one from Krang's body. Plus he had the exoskeleton for extra protection, and he didn't have that in the Day the Earth Disappeared.
And since Dregg went through the portal that led to the Technodrome, he probably thought of the Technodrome as a very useful base. He probably could have easily repaired the Technodrome with his Microbots, as they have made technology so easily in Season 10. Eventually, maybe Shredder and Krang could take it back from him somehow.

If i remember right, the gang was shown being locked up inside the technodrome in a later episode. Their status after that is not known, chances are they are still locked up inside the technodrome untill this very day, they might aswell have hired on a different show after the first season though.

I always guessed the monsters were Dimension X denizens that revolted in retatliation for Krang's crimes after news spread of the Technodrome having its engines blown out and all weapons used up over the series. Seriously, the Rock and Foot forces couldn't repel an entire galaxy.
Hmm you raised a fine point... what about Rat King? Leatherhead? Slash? Baxter? Lotus? Getting Usagi back to his homeworld? And all that stuff?
Leatherhead and Slash, last we saw, ran away in Night of the Rogues. Rat King was among them, but arrested in season 8.
Baxter, last we saw, was stranded in a dimensional limbo going insane, near where the Krangazoids were banished. No one was there for them to harm.
Lotus was a one time character, hinting she may go straight, and Usagi was stuck here.

It was a great ending to Dregg but instead of him coming back why not Shredder and Krang in the last three episodes after they and Dregg were sucked into Dimension X in "Turtles To The Second Power"?
Yeah, why end on a joke like Don's poor job of cooking popcorn?:ohwell:
It seemed just like "Shredder Triumphant", Turtle Trek", and "Doomsquest" as nice finales to a season, but it did not feel like a series finale.
I found it amusing that Dregg kidnapped April like old times. It had been since "Invasion of The Krangoids" that she was kidnapped by a villain unless her being locked up with the rest of Channel Six's employment counts towards that. I always wanted to see Shredder put Dregg away instead of the turtles as a way to claim his rightful place over the underworld of New York and the TMNT's greatest threat. A sword fight between him and Dregg was a missed opportunity. Still in a way Krang and he got revenge on Dregg and did defeat him in a way through Krang's Andriod body. Aside from "Split Second" which didn't even need Dregg in there for thirty seconds it was the best episode that he was in that did not have Shredder and Krang. I especially liked how the TMNT drove him insane and he couldn't care less about his original goal at this point.
It always made me wonder why is it called "Divide and Conquer"? The TMNT were not broke up to beat one by one or anything of the sort.
my point is the finale could have had more like having Shredder and KRang and old villians in the Technodrome. But I loved it having old Bad guy remains like the Android Body and the severly destroyed Technodrome.

I couldn´t agree more.It is shocking to me to see that Technodrome end
like that. Wish they have change the direction of the series, having it
repaired, with full power They could have sent (Krang and Shredder) to the moon, sahara or other place and got stuck there. But after ten years
of seeing the Technodrome you realy don´t want to see it destroyed and
abandon.

This episode makes me tear up when I watch it.
- Final appearance of The Technodrome all destroyed and abandoned, a far cry from how we first saw it in episode 1.
- Krang's Android Body used to defeat Dregg, a nice touch.
- April gets captured in the last episode and the Turtles have to rescue her, nice nod to the first episode with her tied to a chair too.
- Dregg's final defeat was done better than expected, I like how he turned on Mung as well.
- Splinter acknowledging the Turtles as equals and that he is no longer their teacher.
Its not the type of ending the show SHOULD have had, but it worked very well. Better than the show being canceled on a cliffhanger like so many other cartoons.

The series was disappointing because the Technodrome's true potential was never seen. It was always stuck somewhere.
I disagreed with the series finale and did fanfics of alternate realities. The Technodrome fights off the plant monster and returns to Earth later in my fanfics.

Or for continuity purposes I had one of Dregg's nanobots taken by Shredder and had it rebuilt shortly after "Divive and Conquer". Instead of altering it can be continued.

If there was a Season 11, I could have seen the microbots completely fix the Technodrome. That's assuming Shredder/Krang would even return though.
It seemed they were experimenting with a lot of new villains though back then, like Titanus, Dregg and Doomquest. Even if Dregg stayed gone, they might have just replaced him with another alien warlord rather than go back to Shredder/Krang.

I liked D & C especially when I got to see that android body used for a decent purpose (aside from Turtles Forever). Since the major villains were written out before Dregg got sent away, I just assumed that Bebop, Rocksteady, Shredder, and Krang got one of three possible outcomes.
They were either captured and made to work as slaves (like what happened to the Turtles in Shredder Triumphant)
Captured and locked away by The Neutrinos..
..Or they were just killed. (It's not like they had many allies outside of the Rock Soldiers.)

Mung knew of Shredder and Krang, and since they're the "big bads", no mention was made of Bebop and Rocksteady, which is why only the two of them were transported back to Earth.
