I love the Purple Dragons new designs. It's a bit of a shame that they don't have unique outfits like they did in the first few seasons (like the Big Bad already mentioned) but they still look unique on their own. Can't wait to see what they do this season. ;)

As I always say the stupider they look the more of a joy it will be to watch them get their faces smashed in. I look forward to this season. These new designs don't bother me at all, except Leatherhead and April. It's like the Tales comics to me now sometimes you get a really good artist and sometimes you get Lawson. But even if it's not your style if the story is at least good you can grow to like the art and accept it to some extent. Though these designs are way better then I imagined them being.

I never really thought that the vast majority of the Purple Dragons really resembled what I've seen of real life gang culture in the first place. So, the fact that the new Purple Dragons looks like the X-Men or something really doesn't bother me.

The only way I could believe these are Purple Dragons is if most of them are former Foot members that joined Hun after Karai turns good. I do hope that's where this season goes.

Looks like I'm in the minority in liking the new Shredder. I've never been a big fan of the oversized giant mech Shredder armors there fun to pull out during the big fights but not something I like them to wear all the time. That and I still dont dig the fact that its Viral. I mean henchgirl to poormans Venom doesn't feel very worthy of the name Shredder.

Most animated shows these days consider 13 eps to be a full season. That's what happened with Transformers Animated. 2 seasons ran back to back, 13 eps each.

13 episodes is standard fare for animated shows. Each of the 5 season of The Batman, and the two seasons of Legion of Super-Heroes were 13 episodes. In fact, with the rare exception of the first two seasons (Which consisted of 26 two-part episodes shown as 13 hour long episodes), Justice League had 13 episode seasons and it is largely regarded as the best comic book based cartoon in this decade. Even Spectacular Spider-Man only had 13 episodes. The point being, 13 episodes are all that is needed if the show is done correctly.

EXACTLY!!! Which is why TFA season 3 is a six month wait. I assume season 7 and 8 of TMNT would be a year apart, but hope that is not the case.

One could only hope. From what I know, KidsWB always got more ratings then Fox/Foxbox. Now that BTTS is airing right after Spiderman, one would think it would get more ratings then what it did on Fox.

Maybe then they can spend more on the animation and make it look like the new season of Chaotic, and go back to 26 episode seasons.

Another thing I hope, is that there are multipart episodes in BTTS and not 13 stand alone episodes. That got to be too boring.

Remember that for BTTS all the main characters had to be redesigned and approved by Laird, now that all this is done they're simply going to re-use the same designs for future seasons so they don't have to go through this process again.

Like no one has seen or heard of 13 episodes in a season. That's EXACTLY what Kid's WB used to do. Face it, you guys have been spoiled by 26 episode seasons with few reruns.....

They'll run 2-3 new episodes in September... then rerun them until November.... then they'll have 3-4 more episodes, rerun them until maybe Febuary or March... and then by May, they'll air the last 4 episodes... that's how it works.

Multipart episodes are often good, and can develop the stories. Remember what many (like me) consider the best episodes of the 1987 cartoon: The first seasons (like five multipart episodes) the "Big" trilogy finishing season one.

Well I know Tsunami is supposed to be from Japan...so he's like the Asian Namor. I consider Crysalis to be like Phoenix because of the way her butterfly form looks.

It would be nice to know more about them but then again it's been over 20 years and we still don't know much about Metalhead...other than he's like a clone or something since it was mentioned once he was "created"...and he talks like a Butler (at least he did the one time he talked to Shadow in Vol 4)

Nobody doesn't have super powers, and everyone there is/has been a member of the Justice Force, so it would only make sense to call this the Justice Force update... unless next week's will have other Super Powered characters like Touch & Go... but then that would still exclude Nobody... but whatever. I did notice something strange while downloading the new wallpapers: if I select an image to download, save it to my hard drive and then press the back button in my browser, flash won't load the wallpaper images and buddy icon images anymore. I only have this problem with internet explorer 7, with firefox and internet explorer 6 everything works fine. I've had this problem in the past too with other wallpapers from 4Kids.

Does somebody else have this problem too?

Simple: The Fox channel--whose contract with 4Kids expires in '09--isn't the main 4Kids channel anymore. Since it was acquired, the CW spot has been groomed to replace it, and will get the lion's share of new programs.

They're moving the bulk of the new stuff to CW because their contract with Fox is soon to end. If Kid's WB lasted another season before 4Kids was sold it, it clearly would have been on the other station. They're pretty much trying to give their new channel the bigger push, since that's where they're gonna be for the next few years...

Back to the Sewers is the first season where we've done (almost) everything digitally.

In past seasons after a design was drawn it was then photocopied and shrunken down and then scanned in to the computer and sent to color. Designs were often not cleaned up, had strange names or were filed awkwardly in the system. The best way to find something back then was to try various searches in Filemaker or rely on memory. To get a design you had to dig through a large photocopied pack of designs or through piles of CD back ups.

Now designs are done on Cintiqs - basically digital drawing desks. They can be easily cleaned up and sent to color directly. There is a digital file for every design, everything is easy to find.

So when digging through past seasons it is easy to miss stuff - even if you know what you are looking for.

So when someone says "Hey what about so-and-so" or "What about Leonardo when he was in the bikini in episode 157" I can go back in and see if I can find them to post in another update later on, so I do encourage you to call out anything you might feel was looked over.

Let's do a check right now. What have I missed? Raptarr, A version of Shredder's armore... a Triceraton... anything. Let me know!

Oh, it's nice of you to offer to look for these even if they are a bit tougher to find! Here's what I can think of off of the top of my head:

-Ch'rell without the worms covering him
-Shredder's post-exile armour in episodes like "Bad Day" and "Tempus Fugit" (from the preview)
-Raptaar
-Nightmare Leonardo (Where he had tentacles in Michelangelo's Nightmare)
-A clean version of Gruell, perhaps?
-Boss Zuko
-The rest of Nano's forms. He's had quite a few that haven't been pictured, including those from "Membership Drive".

Any chance you folks would have the video game exclusive characters/designs like the game version of Turtlebot, Shredder's Utrom Homeworld armour, Slashuur, Giant Mouser, Archeloga, and the like? I know some of those designs showed up in cutscenes animated by 4Kids, and I'm sure that the unlockable images of them in the games indicated they were designed by 4Kids....

I like these characters in BTTS style a lot but my fave of the all has to be "Nobody" I always like the eppy's that feature him.

Heck, if you look at the posts on the blogs they keep saying, "The Turtles arrive one year ahead of when they left. HOW MUCH COULD CHANGE?" I think they are emphasising that the change is deliberate. These characters look like this for a reason.

They aren't the real versions of them.

As for the last poster.

Ok so PL says it isn't an alternate dimension. So I will say it is either two other things and call it...

1. They returned to their normal time but it got so crazy in their absense, that they have to fix everything back to the way it was when they left.

2. They are stuck in a cyberspace version of New York.

On number 2, PL said they weren't in a parallel dimension or alternate reality, but he didn't say they weren't stuck in cyberspace either, which to me, could be a different entity.

Honestly if I am wrong, I hope number 1 is what they are going with. They are back home, but a year later, and everythings just gone to hell because they weren't around to fix it all.

The only thing I am still crying foul on about his comment, would have to do with Ch'rell and the Demon Shredder fighting. Ones stuck on an asteroid, and one got his ass handed to him.

In as much as Stan Sakai said he had read a script for the Space Usagi eps, and some fortunate fans who have better luck than myself have even seen storyboards of the ep(s) with the Triceraton Shredder, I'm sure you're right. :)

This is absolutely correct. The first episode of this season has the ID 154.

I would not rule out getting a glimpse of "Season 7" in some form in the future, perhaps after what is planned for Back to the Sewer.

Just to be clear, the 10 episodes that made up season 7 were never finished, and most never got past even the animatic phase. Nothing was ever animated.

I can make no promises about anything getting released, but I'll tell you it is a possibility - but for now all our focus is on Back to the Sewers.

If they flashback to tell a story it's not bad it'll be in the style of the new series so if you can handle the new show it's not like their going to change the episode so it would fit into the FF series.

In all fairness Joe you've been away off and on and hardly on the site, while you had been gone this site has turned into noob and b1tch fest 2008.
I think people are just tired of the constant whining and nagging about simple things that they could easily ignore and don't need to be posting about it every chance they get, because they have nothing relevant to say to the subject.

Double Amen. I hate bringing it up a million more times, but Cody and Serling weren't even close to why FF wasn't what it could have been. And I still am not a Cody fan.

I for one like to see it incorporated into a "transition show" before we get another season of something completely different. To have April wake up, and find Raph in the shower, saying it was all a dream (a milliondy points to whoever gets that) would be a cheat.

Seems to me, that as far as the first episode is concerned, they really found out where FF went wrong. They want to make sure everything that happens this season has the same story altering consequences as 2k3 did. It turns "recurring villain" to villain who is biding their time, waiting to strike.

And trust me... there is bound to be something serious when Darius finds out the Turtles are gone...

unless the 4kids rep has some insider information that proves me wrong... but they want to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Everyone has gripes, that is what makes us human.

I myself am no stranger to the matter.

I miss seasons 1-5 style of storytelling, seriousness, and art style.

I like(d) everything 4kids has done for the show, save for some of these things, and am greatful for its continued presence on the air.

However, no one here should throw stones, because we're humans. We were born with flaws, and will always be flawed.

As I have stated before, I just miss the things I listed above. The things I haven't mentioned yet are -

- I wish they wouldn't come up with a subtitle with every season. Why not just keep things the same. Now that they are back, next season should just be TMNT, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

- I hope they don't forget the heritage this show has provided.

- Usagi
- Battle Nexus
- Traximus/Triceratons/Blanque/Zanramon (would like to see these back
- Fugitoid
- Utroms/Mortu (sp?)
- Bishop/Stockman
- Karai/Chaplin
- Foot Tech/Elite

The list goes on and on. I for one, hope they just stay put, get Splinter out, and next season is just more antics in NYC, all the while playing off old characters from their past. I see people want to see Rat King some more, so why not?

I never saw Karai as a spoiled child in the show. A little emotional, but I thought her decsions and actions made sence. She was torn between her principles and honoring the person who raised her, and being swayed by her father's enemies. Plus in Mirage Karai is like in her forties so she'd naturally be more mature and independent than 2k3 Karai since Karai is only in her twenties. But I do want her to continue with her thing with Chaplin, heres hoping it not ignored.

True story, I like the Dark Turtles and the other villains from 2105 (except maybe Triple Threat) and all, but I'm glad we're getting back to the old threats like Evil Bishop, The Shredder, Hun (without Hun, the Purple Dragons aren't much of a threat (but maybe they've gotten better, who knows?)), and Stockman.

Lately I've been watching a lot of gargoyles episodes and I must say there are a lot of simmularities with the new TMNT show. At one point, there where evil clones of the gargoyles. Also in one episode Goliath travels to a future NY that looks like the NY in "same as it never was".

Yeah. I noticed that too. Half expected an evil cyborg Gargoyle to show up. :lol: Course in the instance of the Gargoyles it was all a dream.

The Gargoyle clones tho are not evil, except for Thailog really. In the comics (the official 3rd season. Darn you Disney for not renewing the contract!!) they moved in with the mutates sewer lair cuz they didn't wanna be with Thailog anymore.

During the Gargoyles run I was always half expecting the Mutates to run into the TMNT. :lol:
