I have something that's been bothing me for awhile. I know that Laird & Eastman are the Creatons of Ninja Turtles :) . Peter Laird is mostly incharged of the New TMNT comics  . But what about Eastman :| . Where is he :-? ? Where does he live now :-? . What is his job if he's not involed with the New Series :-? ? If this was already anouced than don't blame me. I just like to know what happen.

He left TMNT a long time ago, like around TNM I believe. He and Laird had disagreements over something I believe.

I wonder what the major disagreements were?

I don't remember any disagreements. As far as I know they just grew apart and Kevin lost interest in the TMNT, so Peter bought his share.

As for what Kevin's doing at the moment... he's busy with his Heavy Metal magazine.

They had some disagreements, mostly over Next muation. It was Eastman's thing, but Laird didn't like it. Eastman also worked on Heavy Metal, and since his time went to that, Laird bought the TMNT for himself.

So Eastman liked Next Mutation?

So Eastman liked Next Mutation?
I'm guessing he liked the money, not the series.

J Legault
02-24-2003, 06:21 PM
Well that explans some of it. I may not of seem all the Next Mutation series. And most fans hate it. So Eastman quit because of one disagreeing. I may of found this website back in 2002 and been a member of it for 4 days. If Next Mutation had any aprovements than Eastman may of stayed. But those gusys were parters. They were like: Laurial & Harrley
Giligan & Skipper
Sonic & Tails
Mario & luigi
or even Rockstedy & Behop
Well since this happened awhile ago I'm not mad I'm just conserned.
If Eastman and Laird weren't friends in the first place than we won't even be on this Message Board.

Well, I don't think he left just because Peter didn't like TNM. In an interview someone (I'll go look for the page) did with Peter, he said that he and Kevin just grew apart and that Kevin lost interest in TMNT.

EDIT: Here's the interview: Click (http://ugo.com/channels/filmTv/features/tmnt/default.asp).

It is ashame when people loose touch like that, but that's life. Hell, I can think of atleast three people I haven't seen or heard from in the past four years.

The cookiest concidence in the world:

The 3 things I like most in the world (TMNT, Nine Inch Nails, and the video game DOOM) all had orignal co-creators that left after a while because of one bad thing or another.

Kevin Eastman the TMNT scene for the reasons mentioned above.

John Romero left id Software due to his excuse that the company wasn't creative enough.

Chris Vrenna left Nine Inch Nails, though I don't remember exactly what for.

Weird.

I wounder if there'll be a Biography Special of Eastman and Laird. I'm just thinking if there will ever be one when there's ether a 20th or 25th annivery.

Didn't Vrenna join Guns N Roses for a short time, but then left?

Eastman can be seen as a cop on the new TMNT series^)^

Seriously, was TNM really the last thing Eastman worked on? Has there been any interviews or anything since? Or even a "I was at a con and I overheard Eastman say..."? Hmmm...

Chris

I know he's left and they haven't spoken for about 2 years, but I can't help wishing that they'll do some kind of special issue togethor to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the TMNT next year.

So Eastman liked Next Mutation?

Yes, Eastman did like next mutation. He was even on the sets. I think Bodycount is the last TMNT thing Eastman did. Also, Eastman did not quit because of a disagreement, it was because the distance, and the fact that Eastman had lot's of other stuff to do.

And it also sounds like he liked Venus, from what I heard from the CA fans who hang with him at San D.

IMO it's a shame that Eastman left, for those of us who enjoyed the old cartoon. He seemed interested in branching out with the Turtles, and trying new things.
Laird seems to only care for the original comic, and is dedicated to making the new show alot like it. Not like that's a problem, but I really want more mutants. Without them, the toys will be pretty boring.

Hmm, I guess I coulda been more clearer, I wasn't saying he did the old cartoon, but he never seemed adverse to trying new things with the turtles, and if he still had part ownership, I think the new cartoon might be a bit different.

I can tell though that Kevin allowed people to incorporate more of their own ideas than the original stuff he and Peter made.

The Eastman impersenating cop(from new series) was a bit of a rookie.

i always found that steange that he did NM and bodycount, i haven't seen NM in a while, but wasn't it really goofy?

as for bodycount, i liked it but i coulda done without raph's fascination w/ guns, it kinda cuts down on his ninja aspect

they shouldn't make too many mutants, what the old show lost was how special the turtles were for being mutants, but the new one preserves that, too many mutants would ruin their uniqueness

Yeah, and neither Eastman and Laird didn't have much to do with the cartoon. They had some input in the first season, but not much after that.

peter seems more aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh boring in his new v.4 comics

when kev worked with bodycount it just was so damn cool!

peter seems not very cool anymore.

Didn't Laird and Eastman do the voices of the cops in the first episode of the new series?

No, I don't think so, though it's obvious that the officers were meant to look like Eastman and Laird.

I've heard Eastman and Laird being interviewed before, so I know what they sound like. It sure would've been cool if they did the voices. Oh well, I kinda like the street corner joke more. They should show the road signs at some point.

Peter kinda sucks now?

he's reviving the tmnt and he's been a major force in the over all reintrodui=cing of the turtles. i respect eastman, but he has kinda bailed on them lately.

plus vol4 has good stories, sure it's not as much action, but laird's trying to convey what the tmnt would be klike when they're in their 30's which would be a quieter series.

i think vol4 is great, it's slowly developing, but it still keeps me just as interested

Im still going at city at war,[issue #58 will be next]and then volume 2, But when I get to volume 4 im pretty sure I will like it to.

it's good, it's action slowed down, but it's got great stories, the turtles are older now so i see why they'd has less eventfull lives, but it's got some great stories, and the art's pretty good, except splinter,(i don't like his goatee)

Actually, Eastman had sold all rights to Laird, that's why he's not involved. Her still likes the TMNT, it's just that he found a more profitable business to be in.

And, I think Eastman did well putting together this Artobiography of his. :D

I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping that Kevin will do something for the new Tales of the TMNT. It would rock to see him do a brand new turtle story. :D Dunno if that's gonna happen any time, though, since he and Peter rarely talk nowadays.

Can't say I like that issue...

yeah, what the hell is with that issue, how come the turtles keep getting mistaken for each other?

some of these oddbal issues bother me, those hedden mcweeny ones are the prime example, i can barely look at the cover without getting mad

anyway, i just finished return to NY and i'm still shocked at how amazing it was, wow! just superb

some of my favorite quotes by my favorite turtle..

Donatallo: "We're not the guardians of society, Raphael... we never were"

Donatello:""Into the valley of death, rode the six hundred"...Let's Roll!"

god those issues are great

I actually love issue #16. I mean, you can't take it very seriously, being by Mark Martin and all, but I love the humor in it. I'm less fond of the two follow-ups Martin did (#22 & #23 I believe).

Well I don't care much for the comical guest artist issues...

Donatello
04-15-2003, 09:32 AM
i don't either, i like comedy, but it shouldn't be more present from the action, so what'd ya think of return to ny?

04-18-2003, 08:54 PM
yeah, some of the best tmnt ,moments came from there, but after words, like in the 20's & 30's the issues lose track of the tmnt,.i don't like some of those, it just doesn't make sense at times, i hope vol 4 doesn't do the same
