Before the pitchforks are raised at Playmates for the umpteenth time, can I politley request to keep this thread as positive as possible? :)

This thread does not necessarily mean TMNT figures yet to come but also toys of old as well.

For me, it's Mini Mutants anything and those Mirage figures. I also hope to track down Mystic Fury Donatello and a few 2K3 figures I regretably passed up when they were out such as Usagi, Gen and Nobody.

Honestly, the only TMNT things on my list this year are the 3 new Shredders that are supposed to come out. well, 4 if you count the Neca version. if they ever release it. last year I finished up most of my TMNT wantlist so theres not much left that I want except carded variants and parts for customs.

If the NECA releases continue based on some miracle, I'll head that direction without question. Otherwise, I might pick up some of the 25th Anniversary re-rereleases. Maybe a Michelangelo and keep it MOC next to the original Michelangelo release that I have MOC.

The original Mikey figure was the first TMNT toy I ever got, so that's why I'm thinking of going that route. Maybe I'll buy a Raphael for my girlfriend.

New NECA stuff... just scored a signed set from SDCC for around $100... I would love to get ahold of a Scratch and the Chef Boyardee Super Shredder...

I'm going to try and continue my guide to the figures this year and obtain more of the collector card if I don't get outbid on Ebay for the billionth time.

I'll buy whatever Playmates has to offer as long as it's new and good and doesn't reuse old figures that I already own.

If Neca releases any turtles stuff this year I will buy it no questions asked as they make top quality figures.

Hopefully Neca stuff other then that mostly OT toys that I don't have yet.

I'd like to see total completion of the vintage line. That includes EVERYTHING (besides plushies...they just aren't my thing) from the Playmates 88-98 toy run. Currently I've finished the action figures and vehicles. Almost done with with the giants, and the mini's... then it's just the roleplay stuff and a couple random items and I'm done. I think it's totally doable within the year.

-Finally nab Purple Armoured Super Shredder
-Get any Shredders released this year
-If NECA actually releases something, all of those
-Maybe one or two additional Playmates figures from this year

'Course, right now I don't have money to burn, so I'm not really buying anything.

If NECA wave 2 ever comes out, I'll get that.

But, I'm a lot more critical about Playmates now. Those comic turtles look like Mexican bootlegs compared to NECA. Granted, quality has not been Playmates' specialty as of late, but the reused movie sculpts and cheesy weapons leave me..unimpressed. The Cyber Turtles look like lazy Alien Hunter rejects. The music turtles are ok, but I think they would be better as Mini-Mutants. Plus the fact that Buzzrok and Multiflex were not released in the States and the Sub Sewer enemies and Global Missions line were not released at all has reduced how much of what I care Playmates is doing currently.
The vintage reissues are a good idea but they don't offer anything to me.
(*actually, no, i must also own a no-pants shredder)

Soo..I will most likely be reducing my collection in '09, maybe finishing the Ninja Fugitoid and Warcat customs I'm working on.

BTW, I'm selling a lot of my stuff here in case anyone is interested: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=25988
I put up more figures for sale all the time, and will probably reach deeper into my assortment of rarer figures as time goes pn.

had it not been for my money issues I'd get a Venus figure or order a custom one that would be awesome having a custon venus that fits the NECA wave

I might buy one of those Mirage turtles, but I know how that will go: I'll end up buying them all. :) I had that before with the Neca figures.
If that Lizard like creature would ever see the light of day, I'll definitely buy it.

Depending on price I might get the reissues, but that isn't looking good (I've only heard $10 each so far, which then I can buy loose vintage ones for cheaper). I'd love to build my Foot army this year, and I just might still.

Oh, and price be damned if Shredder is pantless! I must own one!

I'd like to try and get the NECA figures seeing as my hope for freshtone/bandana variants don't look to be happening.

Otherwise, I've all but stopped TMNT collecting. Nothing new interests me and when they do make something, it doesn't see release (ala Metal Klaws). As for vintage stuff, I'm waiting on one of my holy grails right now, so I feel pretty! oh, so pretty! oh, so pretty and witty and...

...I shouldn't post right after waking up...

I dunno.. I'm lucky to get whatever I can get actually...

I wouldn't mind getting the classic TMNT, Casey, APRIL, and Slash. The new wave of NECA figures if they ever come out... and maybe one of the Playmates version.

Hmmm. For me, I think I'll continue trying to nab early TMNT artwork from the comics...I love that stuff, so hopefully I can get some more. I'd also like to keep filling the holes left in my comic collection. Toys won't be a priority for me this year as most everything can be attained at a later date.

Like everyone Neca Wave 2, I'll be getting all the reissues for nostalgia, Probably those other ones playmates will be releasing as well, then random stuff. I need to get playmates statues for don and leo. The compiled books and Ive had my eye on a latex costume.. I really want one of those

So far I had been collecting all sorts of things, from toys to comics and more. This year I'm going to focus on completing my comic book collection, getting all 4 Undercover turtles (only have Raph), adding some art to my collection, getting or making some customs. Also, if wave 2 of NECA is released those aswell and grabbing some of the 25th anniversary stuff that comes out this year.

I hope to run into more Power Rangers Jungle Fury figures on clearance. Or regular price, for that matter... just not eBay scalper prices. These really are some nifty toys! Eagerly awaiting the spring wave of Power Rangers RPM figures, too.

There are a few other figures I'm hoping to get -- like that Spider-Man Juggernaut figure, the 1st and 2nd Doctor sets, and the DCUC Giganta wave (assuming that Mattel's QC has improved; the Riddler I got last week is pure ass in that department) -- but yeah, most interested in the Rangers at the moment. Looking forward to seeing more finalized versions of what Playmates has in store for us, though!

I've been looking for the Wolf Ranger, Camille, and the first wave of Micro Zords. Already got Dai-Shi on clearence and the 2nd wave of Micro Zords in the TRU pack. Aslo got the Super Legends awhile back. That's how Bandai got me back into PR :P I'm not sure about RPM either. I find most of the vehicle zords seasons are normally the ones to suck, but you never know. Of course, I might not see it anyways since it's only on ABC now...

Anyways, now that we know a little more of what's coming out, I think I'll be getting Music Shredder and a few others, but nothing specfic.

Ah, so you're looking for the same figures I need! I'd love to have a Wolf Ranger and Camille as well. Actually, I saw a Wolf Ranger on clearance a few weeks ago, but I hadn't started watching the show yet... and by the time I started thinking that RJ was pretty cool, it was gone. (Well, WM still has several of those Wolf Ranger/Rhino bike sets... I'd rather have the Jungle Master Wolf Ranger, but I may have to settle for one of those.) I actually got into the line looking for a potential base for a Casshern custom. :)

So yes, with its acceptable articulation and low price -- the best value of the toy aisle, IMO -- the Power Rangers line looks to be my focus for this year!

Once they went on clearence, I started looking for them. I figured I could have fun making Dai Shi and Zedd fight over power or something in a later plot for my comic. Figured I'd need Camille to resolve the story. As for the Wolf Ranger, I've been waiting since I was a kid for a purple ranger. It was my favorite color (Blame Donnie's bandana color :P)

If you're a stickler for articulation like I am, don't get any of the gimmick figures. Their articulation is pretty much swivel joints at the shoulders and hips and whatever they need for the gimmick (like knees for the bikes). Unless you really like the gimmick, it ain't worth it.

I recognized the name Casshern, but had to google it. I see why PR figures would be a good base. There is 2 (at least one) figure of him out there, but I'm guessing you want him bigger.

...Boy...umm...maybe this should be cut off into a PR toy thread in general
