Now I'm not sure which season this was from or anything, but I remember watching a TMNT episode (cartoon) where Donatello found out that the turtles were still mutating. They started getting kinda bigger and looked a lot more ferocious. Is this the last episode of the old TMNT cartoon, or is this some other episode in the series? I remember seeing it on TV too, so it wasn't a fake or anything. Thanks.

It was during the Red Sky Series. It was about the 5 episode I believe.

Red Sky Series?? Was that in the original TMNT tv show?

The Red-Sky Seasons as I prefer to call them were the last three years of the series (1994-1996).
I personally believe that the show did alot better in 1993 then it ever had done before.

Yes, season 7 was a step to better direction, but unfortunately, it didn' help the ratings. Red Sky seasons did.

Why where they called the "Red Sky" episodes?
Karpo_007
03-16-2003, 02:38 AM
Because the sky is red in them.

What was the purpose of that?

To make it look darker I guess. The animation was overall diifrent, and much better. But I think they could have done the same with blue sky.

yea I hated that it was always night time. Man that got old fast. Kinda weird how dark the whole series became specially on account of how cartoony, and bright it was in the 3rd 4th and 5th seasons.

Well I liked the fact that the TMNT couldn't just run in the city in full daylight. But I understand it might have been a shock to the fans of the goofier TMNT.

You like the goofy TMNT? Say it isn't so!!!There's nothing wrong with liking the "goofy TMNT." Shredder and I, the administrators, both prefer the original cartoon, and there are several others here who do also.

As I have said before, the original cartoon is still great (though the last few seasons were different)..even today. The new series is also exciting.

Truer words have never been spoken. There is nothing wrong with liking the old cartoon. If it weren't for the old cartoon, many of us on these forums wouldn't be here.
The old cartoon is as good now as it was 10-15 years ago. The cartoons of today can't stand up to the classic that is the original Ninja Turtles cartoon series.

Once Again NTCF has summed it perfectly. But i like his words better "Truer Words Have Never Been Spoken" just has that kind of ring to it you know. Nice to see you on the boards again too

Nope, ol' Leatherhead was more ofa neutral character. Afterall, I member Leatherhead went down in de ol turtle boys sewers after they were away for a bit and (after beatin the gumbo out of the foot soldiers dat he found there) when dey came a' back ol' Leatherhead was in the middle o' buildin himself a Transmat, plannin on a goin' to the Utroms planet where he wouldn't a be persecuted no longer I gaurawntee!
Anyways dem helpful turtle boys ended up helpin poor ol' Leatherhead build the machine! Well it weren't exactly succesful mind you, and after it all exploded in Leatherheads poor ol' face he began a' beatin dem teens inta turtle gumbo I gawruntee! Thats the only issue o' the old series I really member featuren our favorite gatorman... Anyone else tink o' anymoe?
And the cartoon did have its good points, though they sure dumbed down ol' leatherhead.

Thanks, Mondo Gecko. It's good to be back. I'm part of the concert band at the college I go to, and we were on a Spring Break Band Tour in the southwestern section of the United States from March 7-16. I just made a post of it a minute ago of a Ninja Turtles experience I had while there.
But back to this thread, I can't see how anyone wouldn't like the old cartoon. Even my cookie-baking Grandma thinks it's entertaining.

Yeah thats how most people are. Old Tranformer fans don't like Armada, and Old He-man fans don't like new He-man. I can understand that, those shows aren't anything special.
Luckily, with the TMNT the case is totally roughly 70 -85%[There was a poll] of old TMNT cartoon fans like the new show better. This proves what Mirage and first movie fans already know, The original format for the TMNt is the one it works best in. Of course, people are diffrent, and some will always like the goofier turtles better. And there is nothing wrong about that.

Thanks Karpo we finally agree.
Just like there's nothing wrong with Mirage or the new show. They both have good stories and characters.
I just happen to perfer the old show just as Karpo perfers the new show.

Yeah thats how most people are. Old Tranformer fans don't like Armada, and Old He-man fans don't like new He-man. I can understand that, those shows aren't anything special. But when I visit some Transformers boards, it seems like the majority of the posters considers Beast Wars (you know, with long storylines and great characters) better than the original cartoon...

Yeah, and big majority of people think that the new TMNt show is better too. That was just on example on how some people will always like the cartons from their childhood better.

Luckily, with the TMNT the case is totally roughly 70 -85%[There was a poll] of old TMNT cartoon fans like the new show better.Just curious, where did you get that information from? If the poll was held in the New TMNT Discussion forum here, the results wouldn't be a very accurate way to judge the general opinion of all TMNT fans because almost all of the people who visit there are fans of the new cartoon and not the old one.

There was an option "I prefer the old cartoon" it got around 10 votes when the "New cartoon rocks" got over 70...
And Do you think that old cartoon fans don't visit New cartoon forum? It's not 100% accurate, thats why I posted a 15% marginal. The results show clearly the general attidude on the board.

Sorry for the double post, but people probably want to see the thread:

Like been said, the results are not 100% acuurate, but it does show that Majority likes the new toon better. Even if all the people who prefers the old cartoon don't visit TMNT[ Still it's clear that most do], the diffrence is not enough to change the result.
If you think the result is too old, have a Poll on the front page!

Most of the people who visit these forums probably do like the new cartoon better, but I think 70-85% is a little exaggerated. The poll that was linked to was part of a thread for discussion of the new cartoon and was asking what people thought of the new cartoon based on the first episode and not specifically if they liked the old or new cartoon better. BTW, we might use that as a poll idea in the future, but not for another month at least.

Well when you put it up, put an option for "I haven't watched the new show" for accurate results.

Ok, and I'll also include an option for "I haven't watched the old show" just to be fair.

Im gonna have to disagree slightly, I know plenty of old he man fans and old TF fans, that LOVE the new series' myself Included.

I'm an old TF fan and I dislike the new show... but you gotta admit, it sucks. The new HeMan show is a lot better then it used to be... and I think the new TMNT show is alright, still doesn't have that "feel" to it like the original did.
Karpo_007
03-20-2003, 03:37 AM
Well Thats waht most people are said, there are always diffrent opinions.
And the new TMNT isn't supposed to have the same "feel" in it. It's supposed to have the feel of the original TMNT, and in that it succeeds pretty well.
Ok, and I'll also include an option for "I haven't watched the old show" just to be fair.
There hardly are any of those here :D but you never know...
